Kim cuts my hair the best ever, and at a very reasonable price. She asks how you're doing and asks about the many things she remembers about you. It well worth my 30 minute drive to continue going to Magic Shears since I moved. read more

Bach and Kim are two sweet ladies who have been cutting hair at their salon for over 15 years. I have gotten my hair cut at Magic Shears a few times now and have been really happy with the results. Haircuts are $23 for women and $18 for men, making it one of the best haircut deals in town! The haircuts are very quick. Even with long hair and a bang trim, my haircuts usually take about 10-15 minutes. They cut dry and will spray water on as needed. I would consider their salon for more basic haircut needs versus a major hair transformation. They do not offer any color services. While they do allow walk-ins (and a lot of folks enjoy this), I always call ahead to make sure they have a spot, which they usually do same or next day. read more

My two grandsons received beautiful cuts from the owners. Lovely people and the boys' haircuts were so well done!!!

Simple place- good hair cut and affordable. We have been their customers for years :) read more

This place was recommended to me by a friend of ours, and what I find. Both Bach and Kim are great and very entertaining. If you enjoy chatting, they can keep the conversation going for hours. For a simple men's haircut, it is $18 (not including tip), and takes about 25 minutes. I recommending making a reservation ahead of time so that you do not have to wait. Overall, the experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The only two things that I find this place could improve upon is 1) the post-haircut cleanup. There were more loose hair bits than usual; they didn't clean up as well as some of the other places. 2) customer service. They really tried to pressure me into paying with cash. I understand they can file less taxes this way, but it's really the customer's choice if they offer a credit card option. I told them that I didn't have enough cash and their reply was, "Can you ask your wife for cash?" read more

Well... I did have to get a last minute appointment before I left for a business trip, so they were able to get me in for a haircut, it was great! I have longer hair then your typical guy but they were not intimidated at all! I brought in some pictures for some examples of what I wanted and after a short discussion they were able to help me out. The service was quick but high quality. The staff were also very kind and helpful. Not to mention the price was affordable, especially compared to some other places I called before I ending up going here. Do not be deceived but the exterior although it doesn't look to special, the service, staff and haircuts are all great! I would recommend this place to anyone who is in the area and needs a good straightforward affordable haircut. I will probably come back. Also they prefer cash if you have it! read more

Made an appointment 2 weeks in advance, arrived early, and then find people ahead of us and no sign of the stylist. When she does arrive, treats it as a joke and bumps us back 30 minutes. we finally left. Overbooking appointments and arriving late to work is disrespectful of your customer's time. Otherwise, they are ok. read more

A very nondescript salon tucked away next to a gas station, operated by an elderly woman and another middle-aged woman. Reasonably priced haircuts ($23 for men, $28 for women- looks like prices have increased slightly but understandably so due to inflation) and gets the job done. I haven't tried this place myself, but my husband was satisfied with his haircut here. Definitely recommend calling ahead to book an appointment because it's clear that they have a constant stream of regulars trickling in, and what's amazing is that they know each person by name! That's a hallmark of good service. Note: the stylists here prefer payment in cash. read more

Kim and Bac are great! I've been getting haircuts here for about 5 years now with zero complaints. They have created a community of customers as you can tell many of the clientele are long time customers on a first name basis. They do get busy at times (much busier before covid), so I always make a reservation. I love that I don't have to explain how I want my haircut every time because they remember from my last visit. They also seem to remember our conversations too, even if it was something we discussed years ago. During covid times, I feel very safe. Kim and Bac both wear masks, require clients to wear masks, sanitize the chairs and equipment between clients, use hand sanitizer, and even make you sanitize your hands before the haircut starts. I've recommended this place to many coworkers, friends, and family members; All of them have become repeat customers. Plus you can't beat their price! read more

I showed Kim a video of the hairstyle I want and how to cut. She refused to take less than two minutes to check and told me she can do exactly the same haircut. It turns out there is nothing like the hairstyle I wanted except the length. Now my hair looks BAD, hubby told me the ends of the hair are not even neatly trimmed. I had to get the hair end trimmed again somewhere else. Very disappointed. read more

I love Ki! It's very apparent that she knows hair. She's fast, efficient, listens to what I ask for and follows through, all while holding great conversation! Also, OMG those prices!! Having a cosmetology background myself, I have a really hard time paying tons of money for my simple cuts (I know firsthand how quick & easy they are.) I don't know if there are prices like these anywhere else. My second time in and I continue to be pleased! I highly recommend checking them out! read more

Magic Shears - Haircut by Kim - Hair Salons Near Me - Kirkland, Washington

I'm a bit disappointed with this place and I've been to see Bach before. Anyhow I made the appointment and there's a new hair stylist Min. I was so shocked when I thought I had an appointment with Bach. Not cool. I should've left but I didn't. The cut was fine but somewhat lost in translation because although the back was cut the right length it was too short in the front. anyhow the manager didn't seem too bothered by it all which is the main reason not to return. I'm more mad at myself for putting up with the bait and switch. read more

I have been coming to this location off and on for years. The positive is getting an appointment is relatively easy by calling and getting a time and they are friendly. They can be on time give or take 10-15 min. The one person I had been seeing has been fantastic until this last cut. The negative is I asked for a trim of the length and to trim layers which in the past was done well. This last time my hair was severely over-layered to the point it cannot hold a style. Thinking the person was done, I wasn't paying attention and they quickly textured my fine hair so fast I couldn't stop them. Took out the bulk of my hair where there is no body left. The charge for a man's cut seems to be in the $20 range and for women ( with short hair) in the $30 range even with the same time in the chair. Price is relatively inexpensive but sad is gender driven. read more

Been coming here for months to the same guy and getting the same medium fade today I ask for the same and he cuts to the top of my head I look like a 8 yr old really annoying since i usally tip well last time coming here ever again read more

We recently moved to the Kirkland area and this is my husband's and my favorite place to get a good haircut. My husband comes here more often than me, but after every visit, he's extremely satisfied with the haircut that he gets. One recommendation is to make an appointment to make sure you don't wait, but the ladies are extremely welcoming and gives you a good haircut for a good price! Highly recommend this place! read more

I've been taking my kids here for around 5 years. Kim and Bach are great. They are patient and my kids always leave looking great. A much better value than a dedicated kids' salon, plus you leave with a lollipop. They have a loyal customer base and greet everyone by name. I always make a reservation and pay in cash. read more

Nice little shop. Friendly ladies. They've done a good job for me and my son. They prefer cash which is only fair as their price is pretty low. Their closing time is a bit flexible. My first time, I went in 30 minutes before close and they almost sent me away. Edit (July 2016) - I've been going here for a while now. The two ladies that run this joint are very sweet. They remember my haircut style and clipper number so I don't have to. They are great with my four year old. Call ahead the day you want to go in and they'll tell you when you can come in to avoid a wait. read more

I've been going to Magic Shears for over a decade. Kim and Bach have worked their the entire time and have taken great care with my hair. They have excellent memories and give their advice when needed. My advice is to call ahead before coming in and try to come in during non busy times (9 to ~4 on weekdays) read more

I called in advance for an appointment, when I arrive they weren't expecting me for some reason. I had a bad feeling, which turned out to be true. The man cut my hair, when I asked him not to cut the top of my head and just fix the sides, he begins vigorously thinning the front of my bangs, so I look like a balding older man now. I started asking him not to do that but he didn't understand English so his wife had to start speaking for him. He had only cut my sides and when I asked if he could cut my back to match the length of the sides, he gave me an angry sigh, and I felt uncomfortable and just left, with a mullet because he didn't feel like cutting more, the haircut was only 15 minutes long though. I also got a skin infection on the back of my hair/neck after the haircut, likely because the hair equipment didn't look like it was being washed. Completely unprofessional and I won't be back. read more

The problem with this place is the service. The haircuts are average, but the older lady in there is not very nice. She doesn't make you feel appreciated as a customer. It's very hard to get time with her as she's always too busy. I've even seen her turn away walk in customers telling them she's too busy even when no one else is waiting. I just feel I'm bothering her by trying to get my haircut there. read more

Cheap and very good hair cut. Kim understood my idea and now my hair are amazing!! There was no problem with walk-in. Very friendly atmosphere. read more

My husband & I love this place , truly thrilled with supporting this long standing local business! Bach & Kim are great! Always wise to call ahead, they get pretty busy since they are so great!! read more

Bach and Kim are great for conversation and a good, quick cut at a great price! They get friendlier with each visit and remember your cut!

Went here a few times. But the owner has a real attitude problem. She was annoyed when I dropped in 30minutes before closing. I thought it was rude given that I came within stated hours. But I gave them another chance. Then another time I wanted my hair cut short on the side but she disagreed and argued with me about the style. I told her it was my choice. She seemed annoyed. I'm pretty put off by their rude attitudes. In general they act nice when they first meet you but the real self comes out with time and it's real disappointing how rude they are. read more

I found this place online and went there, needed an appointment to get the haircut done, but it was totally worth it. The staff is very friendly and she gave me a great haircut. Price was also a very reasonable $15 for a men's haircut. I am glad I found this place close to my home. Anytime I need a haircut, I will definitely go back to this place. read more

My normal hair person no longer works near where I live so I decided to try this place today, I parked my truck and went inside, place seemed dirty and smelled funny, I was going to overlook this until an older fellow was outside sweeping and hit my truck 3 or 4 times with his broom, I went outside and asked him to be careful and he played it off like it wasn't a big deal, I Went back in and the two ladies asked who I was talking to and asked me a bunch of questions, made be feel uncomfortable few minutes later he comes into the barber shop from the back and starts talking to the stylist in a foreign language and they all look at me and laugh, I just got up and left..left super awkward and uncomfortable and defiantly wouldn't trust these people to cut my hair read more

Shop somewhat hidden (gas station/strip-mall location) off Juanita Drive, and I accidentally stumbled across this Yelp review after my hairstylist for 5 years up and left my old haircut location, and forced me to look for another hairstylist. Pleasant surprise that the haircut from "Kim" was as good, or even better than before for about 40% savings on the price!! Kim cut's hair great, and is a wonderful person!! read more

Excellent and affordable place to get a hair cut. The owner does a great job and is very personal. Highly recommended!

Bach and Kim are amazing at what they do and a VERY reasonably priced. I've gone to many stylists, barbers, salons...etc and have paid a lot of money for haircuts that don't come close. I love their funny personalities and always make me feel at home. I highly recommend Magic Shears! read more

This place is a real find. The owners do a great job, inexpensive, and friendly. It does make a difference compared to the chains.

Bach and Kim are amazing. They both provide great service, are always happy to see you and they prove it with not only their great smiles but also their genuine hospitality. It's a date day for me and my elderly father-in-law when we go to get our hair cut, and Bach and Kim always make it special. Whether it's allowing my father-in-law to take the magazine home with him that he was reading or if it's just a little piece of candy offered, he always walks out feeling great. He really enjoys Kim and Bach and the personalized attention he receives. I also enjoy their company, fun personalities, a chemical free environment and the quality of the cut is superb for the cost. read more

Went here for the first time today (just moved) and got a great haircut for a reasonable price. I'm not a big fan of the salons as they seem way to expensive (over $20) for the same haircut my buddies gave me in college. Granted, I needed a nice, simple clean haircut (2 on the sides and a trim on the top), but she did a great job and I will keep going here. Price for an adult haircut is $13 so with tip you are paying $15-18 read more

I found this shop more than 10 years ago, it's the only place I go for my haircuts. Bach and Kim always remember me and are friendly, shop is busy with loyal customers, price for my cut has not changed. I recommend Magic Shears for women and kids too. 5 stars. read more
