As two gay men getting married, we knew from the start that we wanted a woman to be our wedding…read moreofficiant - and when a good friend of ours referred us to Kristin Cusenbary and Seaside Ceremonies, we knew we'd found the right person to help us tie the know on our special day. Over a series of months, we met via Zoom with Kristin, with her really getting to know the two of us in a very special way. Kristin made us feel at ease, and via a detailed questionnaire that each of us filled out separately, she was able to craft a memorable and very meaningful ceremony script for the wedding day. Without having ever met her in person, we got a great feeling from Kristin - and when the day came that she delivered our actual ceremony script, we were equal parts excited / scared / anxious - all rolled into one. We opened up her email and read what she had written - and we literally had to stop multiple times to wipe away the tears from our eyes. She got everything so perfect - from tiny details we'd included in our questionnaires to things we'd mentioned in passing to her via zoom and emails. She wove the story of our love together so beautifully and we knew immediately that the ceremony would be deeply moving for our guests. We made a few minor tweaks to what she'd written, but overall she'd done an amazing job. Kristin joined us on the day of our rehearsal, truly the first time we'd met her face to face. At this point, she knew us intimately, and helped to soothe our fears and put us at ease. On the day of the wedding, we were calm and cool ... until it came time to actually walk down the aisle. But at the end, there stood Kristin, ready to take us to the next chapter! And while it mattered not in the least, Kristin is gorgeous - and her radiant smile welcomed us like an old friend. The script she had written was perhaps a little longer than others - but it was filled with love and told our story in a magical and wonderful way - bringing both tears and laughter to our friends and family who joined us. Kristin was a pro - helping those in our wedding party, working with our wedding planner and the musicians - making everything seamless and stress-free on our wedding day. Before we knew it, the ceremony was done and Kristin took care of the details of our marriage license. And before she left, we managed to get a few photos with her - and gave her our thanks. The ceremony that she wrote for us is something we'll treasure forever. We have those beautiful words to look back on - to reflect on - and we couldn't have been more pleased with all that she brought to the most special day of our lives together. Thanks for them we were fully in the moment and joyful as everything went even better than dreamed of. I hired Simply S as a Day of Coordinator but she went on to do the flowers, create decor and thrill my mom (and I) with how easily the day ran. Before the wedding Savannah met with me several times to tour the venue, meet with our caterer, talk specifics and create a day of schedule. At each meeting I shed my stress and worry and left feeling excited and relieved. Savannah is extremely creative and Dan is super hands on. This lovely combo led us to have: a donut peg board, table numbers that were actually songs handwritten on dark stained pieces of wood (allllll done by Savannah), an original light sculpture featuring floating flowers in a dry fountain in our venue. My mom cannot stop talking about how amazing Savannah was/is and I cannot agree more. She ran our wedding with assurance and ease. She let everyone know that she was working so no else needed to. He literally flew out to Japan and spent three full days with us to make sure everything was captured perfectly. The logistics of trying to pull off a surprise proposal in a foreign country on such short notice is a nightmare, but Andrew was incredibly professional, flexible, and honestly just down for the adventure. He helped me coordinate everything and kept it a total secret. On top of the incredible service, the output was insane. We got over 1,000 total photos, with 250 beautifully edited shots. The best part? He edited 100 of them right on the day of the shoot so we could share them instantly with family and friends. They also captured numerous videos for us, and spent so much time helping with dress adjustments and posing so we looked our best. Andrew and Mel are an absolute dream team.
