My husband and I got married in September and really glad we went with Mia Bella to help us with our wedding at Walnut Grove. We first spoke to Katie for an initial call and she was really knowledgable and friendly that I was sad to hear we would be working with another coordinator, but Emily happily jumped on a call to ease any worries I may have had. We went with the Month of Coordination service which allowed us to do most of the planning ourselves (most of our vendors were locked in early on, but MB provides a lovely list of vendors they've worked with in case it's needed). Emily had us fill out a very detailed questionnaire (you can tell they know what they're doing with the questions being asked) and went over every detail with us, including areas we were still figuring out. She was available for any questions I had as well leading up to the day, made sure to reach out to all of our vendors with the master timeline, and even provided some guidance for my cousin that was officiating for the first time. A big bonus is how many weddings they've coordinated at Walnut Grove that they're very familiar with the venue and the folks from Command Performance Catering. Emily led us through rehearsal the day before and made sure the actual wedding day went smoothly. Michele Spring was my coordinator for my wedding at Walnut Grove at Tierra Rejada Ranch in Moorpark. She was also the best thing to happen to me during my wedding planning process. From the second we hired her, the stressful process of planning a wedding did a complete 180. She helped organize me, made me think of details I hadn't even considered, and made me feel confident about my wedding. I loved her questionnaire she sent me when we first started working together. It went through every detail and facet of the wedding. I used it as a checklist and organizer for myself as well. It brought up parts of wedding planning I hadn't realized needed attention, and I found myself researching those aspects. It is because of this that I was able to create a very personal, unique wedding. During the wedding (and still weeks later) guests commented about the details and thought put into every part (decor, ceremony, scheduling, layout) and gave me such praise for it. I, in turn, must thank Michele for making sure through questions and advice that our wedding was OUR wedding, and would be a vivid and happy memory for the rest of my life. As you know, planning a wedding is not all peaches and cream, but anything Michele could do to make it better, she did. She stayed in contact all year, checking to see what progress had been made, what she could help with, or what parts had changed. She never got frustrated or confused, and seemed to envision the wedding the same way we did. She gave me suggestions when sticky situations arose. She is so experienced with wedding planning and coordination, she's seen it all. There was nothing I could throw her way that she hadn't dealt with already (or at least something similar). When guests showed up early and wanted to come see me while we were taking pictures, she politely guided them away from us and toward the lemonade. When we could not find the flower girl's bouquet, she tried to get in touch with the florist. When that didn't work (and it was almost time for the ceremony) she simply whipped a bouquet together, and it looked beautiful. Absolutely amazing! If I had 10 stars,...I'd give em! I was referred to Mia Bella by my caterer when I asked for a Day-of coordinator. I am very on top of my game for planning and design, so knew I didn't need a wedding planner, but also knew I needed someone to make sure everything went perfectly the day of and I wasn't worried about anything. Mia Bella Weddings was the most perfect choice! I met with Michele (owner) and Kelly (her assistant). They were great. Very nice, personable, easy to chat with about my vision for the wedding. Michele had another wedding planned for that day, but Kelly was put in charge of my wedding. She was amazing! It was her first wedding as the lead coordinator and not assistant, but I could've sworn she'd done a million before! She was on top of every single thing. In the weeks before, we emailed and called regarding all the details. Vendors, arrival times, how I wanted the night to flow, time line, who'd be giving speeches and when, etc. She worked up a great timeline that we then massaged to perfection, and the day of she made sure everything went off as planned! She coordinated with all the vendors, got everyone in the right place at the right time, and generally made it a perfect evening. I had NOTHING to worry about since I knew it was all going to run smoothly since Kelly was so on top of things. All of my family and bridal party said she was a pleasure to work with, and she did a great job wrangling them all to be in the right place at the right time. It was a big, boisterous group, and getting them to behave is sometimes difficult, but she did it! We were married at a place that had a bridal suite where we were staying for the weekend. I met the owner of Mia Bella Weddings, Michele Spring, in January of 2009 when I visited Walnut Grove at Tierra Rejada Ranch. I was searching for a wedding venue, and Michele worked as the main contact for Walnut Grove. Although the property wasn't done with its renovations yet, Michele encouraged me to return that April for its showcase to see the upgrades to the site. My husband, parents, and I did return for the showcase and were very impressed. We booked the venue and hired Michele to be our day-of coordinator that same day. Although Michele was contracted to just be our day-of coordinator, she went above and beyond to work with us months before the wedding. She even gave me an opportunity to work a few weddings with her on the side to earn additional money for my own wedding since we were covering most of the expenses. Michele always goes above and beyond for all of her clients. I witnessed it first-hand. I usually like to take the reigns and be in charge when it comes to executing events, but I had full trust in Michele to do what needed to be done on my wedding day. I have to say that I think I took how amazing Michele was on my wedding day (January 20 at Camarillo Ranch) and at the rehearsal for granted until I was in a wedding party where the day of coordinator was more staff than guide. I now know that things going smoothly don't just happen by themselves and it was Michele who turned my (sometimes unusual) ideas into reality.
