Ordered the Sunshine Poachie, which was delicious, albeit a little messy; it would have been helpful to have a steak knife to cut through it, as half ended up on my lap. Long black was also great: rich, hot and flavorful. No milk needed! I'd love to return on a weekday and feel more comfortable lingering a bit longer. On this visit, I ate quickly and gave up my seat to someone in the long line of those waiting to be seated.

We snagged a seat outside on the warm winters day which was also a bonus - basically every seat in the place was nearly full. The menu is small for lunch, selection of salads, sandwiches etc and sourcing local ingredients. I was tossing up between a salad and the soup and by recommendation of the friendly girl behind the counter I chose the roast carrot and freekah salad. The food arrived fairly quickly, one ordered the hearty vegetable soup and another the roast pumpkin stack. I was really disappointed in my salad - it had no dressing or any flavours whatsoever. The freekah was bland, the salad greens were bitter and the carrot was just covered in fennel seeds. I added a tonne of salt and pepper but it didn't do much. My friend with the soup also had to add a large amount of salt to try and bring some flavour out. Apparently the pumpkin stack was good - the goats cheese look good on that. Overall I think it's not bad for breakfast but lunch might be a miss. Plenty more amazing spots closer to the market that might be more worth a visit

Dew's combined co-working area, pop-up designer store, wine bar & coffee shop is light and open, featuring high ceilings, lots of greenery and a beautiful mural by Adelaide's Lisa King. The wine list was carefully chosen, and co-owner Elisa spoke with expertise and fondness about my options. She also happily showed me the photographic studio space in their basement. I will definitely be back try some Colombian coffee, a raw dessert, a sandwich - maybe a smoothie or a juice? Dew is helping to drive a new approach to traditionally 'working from home' employment styles - giving a welcoming space to Adelaide's creative and entrepreneurial types, where we can work in the company of fine food and wine as well as the company others!

My home away from home…read more Although working from home seems like fun, it gets fairly monotonous living and working in the same environment, especially during winter when you'll probably end up not leaving the house for five days straight. DEW is a newish co-working space on Hindley Street and its a great place to break up the week whether you work from home or need a change of scenery from the office. As well being a cafe and wine bar, DEW has a few individual working desks on an upper level where you can bring along your work or laptop. It's about $27 for desk-hire for a working day (less if it's just a few hours and they also do a month-plan) and that gets you internet access and a comfy spot to work in. Food is pretty good; pasta, soup and bagels which come fresh from the market. The coffee is excellent and they'll bring right to your desk too. The staff and friendly and very accommodating and the people that also share the workspace are usually pretty social as well. DEW also has a few weekly events such as Yoga, wine tastings, live music and art exhibitions; they post events on their Facebook page each week. I love the social and working atmosphere at DEW and find myself there more and more often. Definitely beats working at home!

As someone who does work from home a little bit, I have learnt a few things (and these are just my…read moretop 3): 1. It can get a bit lonely 2. Meetings/interviews can be difficult if you need somewhere private and quiet and not a coffee shop 3. It can be hard to stay focussed on work (I'm looking at you, Netflix)! This is where That Space comes in. This is a 'communal workspace', an office that is filled with different types of people running different types of businesses. This is great for networking (especially with the available community noticeboard) or just having other people around to motivate you to actually work!! How it works is you rent a space at a 'per month' price - from 10 hours access a week to unlimited access 24/7. All memberships include wifi, printing and scanning facilities, access to a shared kitchen (tea bags included!) and use of private booths for conference calls or Skype sessions. You can upgrade your package to include use of the meeting room if you need it - this space has a meeting table, Apple TV and whiteboard/projection surfaces for meetings or presentations. There is also an option of a visitor's pass - $30 will get you a desk space, wifi and printing facilities for a working day. Not bad if you just need an office for a day! The location is great, right on the Parade above Juice Bureau (note: money you save on office space rental WILL be spent on juice). The vibe in this place is friendly and though businesslike it's still got the right touch of casual - one of the ladies when I was there had even brought her puppy to work and it sat quietly under her desk :) I really like the idea of these communal offices - much more cost effective than having to rent a whole property, and the networking & collaboration potential is a bonus! The general vibe of the place as well as its affordability is what makes it rate highly for me.

There is a range of online games available as well as basic Internet services such as web browsing, email checking and the like. The food looked to be a bit ordinary. You don't go into a place like this expecting a gourmet meal, but what they had served its purpose. I just had a drink and was chilling with a mate who wanted to play some online games. I stayed for an hour, then left him to it. I can only play them for so long, unlike him who could have gone all night!!

And definitely don't go there with 8+ friends, the multiplayer games don't even work. Computers are all set to Chinese language, and all the games are either not updated or installed properly. If you want to play Battlefield 4 or Call of Duty, don't even bother. After spending 10 minutes figuring out how to sign up for an account, the game requests for a CD Key. Clearly Sniper didn't even bother to buy the games. Everything is probably pirated, and Windows is just definitely pirated. The computers is what you call "trashy", keyboards and headphones look like they were bought from a garage sale, and the seats are just absolutely ancient, ripped everywhere. And to top it off, the internet speed is worse than my home wifi, downloading at an average speed of 1.4 Mb/s. 20 minutes in, my friend and I were fed up with the utter bullshit. We asked for a refund and the bloke at the counter said he couldn't, but he could take off 2 hours from our time and make us pay for 1 hour. Worst spent 3 dollars of my life. Sniper provides the worst service for an internet cafe.

Like walking into a modern Italian deli in the middle of Rome, Caparezza is a tiny cafe with a big heart on James Place. This place has now expanded from a stand up Italian coffee bar to also include a delicatessen next door. The deli serves up snacks and tapas platters from its refrigerated glass cabinet of cold meats, antipastos and pre-made, home made Italian ciabbatta rolls that, when being toasted, smell like salty, salumi heaven on a stick. However, they are now also serving pasta, salads and a small lunch menu. All things on my list "to try" in the near future. The coffee here is served quick and, although they don't use Bonsoy, the coffee is so tasty that it gives you the right kick in the pants to get the morning started. Caparezza has spoilt me with its charm, suave, crisp white professionalism with a hint of cheek and flirt that makes you dream of the next time you get a coffee and an Italian donut or patisserie treat on the run. Let alone gaze dreamily into the eyes of the next barista to serve you there.

Do not fear the line up, as you will not be waiting for long and it is well worth any wait. This espresso bar has raised my personal standards regarding menu, beverages (including alcoholic beverages) and service as all of these are superb. This is also a perfect place for those small business meetings as well as outings with friends. Put this bar on your "to visit" list and you will not be disappointed.
