Major Stokes is a phenomenal find with delicious infusion cocktails & a fun menu to create a memorable meal. The art is nice to check out while food is prepped and the service is excellent

This was a great stop while visiting Greensburg, staff were friendly, service was fast and the food was great. The owner even gave us a history lesson on the building and it's past. Definately worth the stop!

Major Stokes commanded my attention immediately . Newly opened business adventures are always a welcome sight in this area , especially one with plenty to offer. My first visit confirmed that I waited far too long to meet the Major. The warm, personal greeting got this 1st visit off to a great start. The eclectic decor, furnishings, and surroundings, gave this historic building, circa 1881, the attention and respect it so deserves. This introduction alone confirmed this is the place to keep in my rotation of fun places to go. But then, to even compound the 5 star rating it received the first 10 minutes of my visit, I opted for their buffett vs the menu offerings for the day. What a delight! Fresh, fun, and plentiful ! I could have made a meal out of the salad alone since it was absolutely the best tasting array of lettuce and salad components I have eaten in a long time. I was very impressed with my first visit and cannot wait to return. Since Major Stokes menu changes daily it will give me plenty of reasons to do so! Look for their entertainment schedule and daily food and drink menu on their site. Closed on Mondays.

Lovely setting, good food and friends this is the place to come to. We had chicken dish, friends had stuffed ahi mushrooms.

We went to this place for lunch on a Monday around 3 and were surprisingly the only people there. Where are all of you?? I believe the woman who took our order owns the restaurant. She was so kind and attentive and we had a great conversation with her. The food was so good, portioned perfectly. We had the chicken grilled cheese, the house salad, cheesecake for dessert and a few drinks. Everything was great, the place is really cute and unique and I loved the outside patio. I'm not normally the type to leave a review but this place was so great and i think deserves some more hype. The pic I'm providing is our dessert plate and you can trust every plate before that looked the exact same. Thanks for the great food and kind service.

As a restaurant professional, I'm pretty hard on a place when reviewing. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Service was excellent, food was very good and the space is pretty cool. I will definitely be back. *update 2/2020 This restaurant just passed its first year w/ flying colors. Has continually added nice surprises for repeat visitors.

Had a great evening here celebrating my middle son's 23rd Birthday. The service was a little slow but the place was hopping. Inside and outside seating we're both excellent and we chose outside. Had live musicians and they performed very well. The food was fresh and flavorful. It was worth the 15-20 minute extra wait. We were surprised with a flash mob for a local musical that was upcoming in the area. A great place for a date night or a celebration. We wouldn't hesitate coming back. Enjoy!!!

    I absolutely love this place

Soggy food, little seasoning, maybe good for a retirement home. The fruit was the only good part.

With a friendly staff leading you into the high quality food.. it's just phenomenal. The menu changes but has 20 items on it. I went with salmon, filet, and veggies. All 3 flavors were dancing around balancing off an IPA that I have never had. I also forgot how great it is to browse their extensive drink choices. Thank you chefs and service bar for a wonderful trip down memory lane! #JTBW

A restaurant dedicated to tapas with flavor bombs and hidden gems all throughout the menu!!…read more From the street The Headkeeper looks like an absolute dive. Busy intersection, no windows, and a front door that doesn't work... but don't let that fool you. Entering through the patio entrance, the outdoor seating is an oasis somehow perfectly separated from the busyness just beyond the sidewalk. We opted to sit inside on a humid day.. simple but fitting! The menu is only tapas, but the small plates don't contain small flavors!! We love to split tapas with friends, so we ordered a table load and went all in. We selected: - Street Corn Dip - no notes. Gooey, well seasoned, and plenty of fresh corn! Abundance of chips, more than enough! - Bruschetta Flatbread - every available inch covered in fresh tomato, lacking in the balsamic glaze, but still a fresh, refreshing bite. Honestly, this is a huge tapas, 8 pieces and easily a meal on its own - Headkeeper Toothpicks - THESE ARE THE SHOWSTOPPER!! Clever concept, perfectly executed! Crispy tortilla wraps loaded with chicken, peppers, onions, and gouda. And DOUBLE dips!! - Banh Mi Eggrolls - large tapa with a big eggroll for all four of us. Crammed full of toppings and well seasoned - Balsamic Marinated Grilled Vegetables - great variety, one of each veggie, but a little too much oily sauce (Pro Tip - we cut these up and put them on top of the bruschetta - perfectly paired!!) - Cauliflower - large portion, almost half of a head of cauliflower, dripping with truffle oil, but soooo tender to eat - Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes - only 2, but packed with crab and delicious sweet-chili & coconut-lime sauce! - Lo Mein Bowl - another tapa that could be a full meal, tender beef, but the seasoning was just off for us And of course... DESSERT! Thankful to go on a double date where one from each couple wants to split desserts too. Why not try the best part of the menu too? Vanilla Crème Brulee - a perfect sweet blend of vanilla and custard with a scrumptious layer of brûlée Strawberry Scooter Crunch Cheesecake - decadent swirls of strawberry through the cheesecake and a crisp layer of scooter crunch all over Tell you what! The sauces and pairings show how ingenious this culinary team is... and looking at reviews, the menu rotates and I'll have to try some of the fun items that I've seen from other seasons!

We were so entertained by the entire experience. Some folks might find it off-putting but we were just anticipating our next laugh for each interaction. This place is by reservation only. Do not attempt to walk-in and be served. Not only do you have to reserve in advance but you must also specify what your dinners are earlier in the day to ensure they have the necessary ingredients to prepare the food. That said, everything was absolutely delicious! We started with sautéed sweet peppers with cheese and then the house salad which was brought to us family style. Dinner was chicken Marsala and chicken parm. Each came with a side of pasta. Another diner had shrimp scampi over pasta. Plates, glasses are mismatched. However, on a Sunday night when it is only the second place in the area that is open prior to a show at The Palace Theatre, if the aforementioned things do not bother you and you're just looking for a quick bite and a drink, then this is a place for you. From the outside, if you're not a local, it looks like one of those places you might be afraid to open the door to ... but do not be deterred. Inside it is a little dark and obviously it'll be smoky if people are smoking (thankfully they were not the night that I stopped in), but everyone was friendly. And actually they had more things on the finger food menu than I anticipated, albeit your classic bar finger foods like pepperoni rolls, provolone sticks & what I ordered-fish & chips. And honestly, the fish and chips were a lot better than I expected them to be, it was a very large piece of fried fish, and it was not too greasy and a nice side of steak fries. Their cocktail sauce was more like a Sriracha mayo type cocktail sauce, but I actually preferred that to the traditional and I got some tartar sauce on the side as well. I did feel bad for the female bartender, because she was staffing the entire place, which not only included the bar, but the tables, and it was very hard for her to keep up. Obviously management failed to realize that there was a sold out show at the theater on Sunday night and that hardly any other places were open Sunday night. I had 3 Tito's & sodas and the fish & chips & my tab was only $24. I left a generous tip because I felt bad for the bartender. I would definitely stop in again especially if I was just gonna grab a pre-show drink. Oh & the music was great too. Reminded me of a true late 70's-80's bar.
