Pan seared salmon - fantastic preparation!

Major Stokes is a phenomenal find with delicious infusion cocktails & a fun menu to create a memorable meal. The art is nice to check out while food is prepped and the service is excellent

This was a great stop while visiting Greensburg, staff were friendly, service was fast and the food was great. The owner even gave us a history lesson on the building and it's past. Definately worth the stop!

Nice little find here in Greensburg cozy little patio and our waitress Jojo was awesome ... the mojito is pretty good as well... they are very dog friendly which is a bonus for me and my pup.

Lovely setting, good food and friends this is the place to come to. We had chicken dish, friends had stuffed ahi mushrooms.

Major Stokes commanded my attention immediately . Newly opened business adventures are always a welcome sight in this area , especially one with plenty to offer. My first visit confirmed that I waited far too long to meet the Major. The warm, personal greeting got this 1st visit off to a great start. The eclectic decor, furnishings, and surroundings, gave this historic building, circa 1881, the attention and respect it so deserves. This introduction alone confirmed this is the place to keep in my rotation of fun places to go. But then, to even compound the 5 star rating it received the first 10 minutes of my visit, I opted for their buffett vs the menu offerings for the day. What a delight! Fresh, fun, and plentiful ! I could have made a meal out of the salad alone since it was absolutely the best tasting array of lettuce and salad components I have eaten in a long time. I was very impressed with my first visit and cannot wait to return. Since Major Stokes menu changes daily it will give me plenty of reasons to do so! Look for their entertainment schedule and daily food and drink menu on their site. Closed on Mondays.

We went to this place for lunch on a Monday around 3 and were surprisingly the only people there. Where are all of you?? I believe the woman who took our order owns the restaurant. She was so kind and attentive and we had a great conversation with her. The food was so good, portioned perfectly. We had the chicken grilled cheese, the house salad, cheesecake for dessert and a few drinks. Everything was great, the place is really cute and unique and I loved the outside patio. I'm not normally the type to leave a review but this place was so great and i think deserves some more hype. The pic I'm providing is our dessert plate and you can trust every plate before that looked the exact same. Thanks for the great food and kind service.

As a restaurant professional, I'm pretty hard on a place when reviewing. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Service was excellent, food was very good and the space is pretty cool. I will definitely be back. *update 2/2020 This restaurant just passed its first year w/ flying colors. Has continually added nice surprises for repeat visitors.

Gone to it pre Covid. Small tapestry style meals. Were unique but too small for me. Wanted more food. Haven't been back.

Soggy food, little seasoning, maybe good for a retirement home. The fruit was the only good part.

They do have a menu, but since we showed up without a reservation, they warned us it would be a wait. No problem, the food was worth it every entrée at our table was delicious, and the homemade salad and dressing were outstanding. If you need to be coddled or have your rear kissed, this isn't your spot. But if you appreciate crabby Italian ladies with a sharp sense of humor (and the ability to make amazing food), you'll love it here. They were especially sweet with my kids, and I'd absolutely go back next time with a reservation in hand.

Our whole party was in shock and we couldn't wait to leave; waste of time and money. The food was average at best; their chicken marsala pieces were the size of a skinny chicken nugget with barely any sauce or mushrooms (yes, we have pictures). Much more could be said, but nothing positive. Needless to say, none of us will ever even consider going back or recommending this place to our vast circle of friends and family.

Our server, Melissa, was happy and quick with our drink orders. The main menu was extensive but, we stuck with the beer battered fish. Real table cloths and cloth napkins, really appreciated. The bun of the sandwich is slightly crusty with a softer inside. Just perfect for this type of sandwich. The fish was perfectly battered and fried. I requested fries and my wife ordered beer battered onion rings. These dinners exceeded our expectations and with our wonderful server Melissa, we had a terrific dinner. Thank you.

DO NOT RECOMMEND THE PIZZA…read more I've been a resident of Greensburg for 58 years and have eaten at the Sunset many, many times. However, I doubt I will ever return after our last visit in February. I use to say: "I never met a pizza I didn't like". Well after this last visit to the Sunset, I can no longer say that. The (large) pizza was absolutely horrible. We live less than 10 minutes away. We both took one piece when we got it home, took a couple bites, looked an each other and threw the whole thing away. There went $23.50 in the trash. It was the crust, I don't know where the buy it but it's horrible. It was heavy, tough and doughy. My guess is that they no longer make the crust in house and they buy it somewhere. I can remember when it used to have some must have been raised and had some air in it.

Mr. Toad's is an old school dive bar that serves a limited food menu, and allows smoking! So right…read morethere that may be a turn off to quite a few people. However, on a Sunday night when it is only the second place in the area that is open prior to a show at The Palace Theatre, if the aforementioned things do not bother you and you're just looking for a quick bite and a drink, then this is a place for you. From the outside, if you're not a local, it looks like one of those places you might be afraid to open the door to ... but do not be deterred. Inside it is a little dark and obviously it'll be smoky if people are smoking (thankfully they were not the night that I stopped in), but everyone was friendly. And actually they had more things on the finger food menu than I anticipated, albeit your classic bar finger foods like pepperoni rolls, provolone sticks & what I ordered-fish & chips. And honestly, the fish and chips were a lot better than I expected them to be, it was a very large piece of fried fish, and it was not too greasy and a nice side of steak fries. Their cocktail sauce was more like a Sriracha mayo type cocktail sauce, but I actually preferred that to the traditional and I got some tartar sauce on the side as well. I did feel bad for the female bartender, because she was staffing the entire place, which not only included the bar, but the tables, and it was very hard for her to keep up. Obviously management failed to realize that there was a sold out show at the theater on Sunday night and that hardly any other places were open Sunday night. I had 3 Tito's & sodas and the fish & chips & my tab was only $24. I left a generous tip because I felt bad for the bartender. I would definitely stop in again especially if I was just gonna grab a pre-show drink. Oh & the music was great too. Reminded me of a true late 70's-80's bar.
