This is my updated honest review on Maison Nail Spa from my first review in April which was 5 stars and a good positive review. I've been coming to Maison since March of this year. I am a Calabasas local and I live right up the street in gated communities up Parkway Calabasas. I liked how close they are to my house and I went here 7 times to get my nails done. It is a local salon. If I could give this nail salon negative stars I would now. Unfortunately, my last time at Maison was last Saturday on my 7th visit. My boyfriend paid for a bio gel manicure, a gel pedicure, and the intensive callus treatment for me. I always do regular gel polish on my nails, and since it was my 7th visit I got $35.00 off and wanted to finally try bio gel on my nails. I will be only be doing bio gel manicures on my nails now and still regular gel on my toes for my pedicure. However, within two days of my bio gel manicure my nails chipped on the corner on one nail and I didn't like the way one of my index fingers looked. I wanted my index finger repainted and when I asked Henry the manager about getting it repainted he disrespectfully laughed at me while the receptionist Ella was standing there quietly watching him disrespect me and refuse to repaint my index nail. If I am unhappy with the way my nails look and I paid $97.00 plus tip for both nail techs, I should have the right to get my nail repainted so I can be satisfied with my service. So, after arguing with Henry, Mia fixed my nail and it only took five whole minutes. After all of that arguing about refusing to repaint my index finger, Mia who always does my nails and who did the bio gel manicure on me fixed it. All of that arguing for such a simple thing. Then the next day, my other nail chipped again in the corner and I had to go back a second time within three days of getting my nails done to get the corner of my nail fixed. I made an appointment for 2pm and I came a little early to see if anyone else was available and free to just fix the corner of my nail which was such a simple fix, it only needed another layer of top coat and to go under the dryer. When I saw both the two rude nail techs Jessica and Hana were free, and asked them if they would be kind enough to fix the corner of my nail, Jessica was just sitting on her phone not doing anything, gave me a dirty look and was nasty refusing to fix my nail and stormed off when I called her out on being rude shooting me a very dirty nasty look and has a horrible unprofessional attitude and horrible customer service skills. I would not reccomend going to Jessica. Then I asked Hana who was done with a client, if she can fix my nail and she also refused. Then finally Mia took me early after all of that disrespect from both Jessica and Hana. Jessica was by far the rudest and worst one! Both Henry and Jessica are both very rude and have a bad attitude. They are both extremely unwelcoming, unprofessional, and have horrible customer service skills. Mia and Nikki are the two nicest ones and the only two people I reccomend going to there. Mia does a great job on bio gel manicures and regular gel manicures. She always made my nails look amazing and beautiful and does a great job always. Nikki is great a doing gel pedicures and massage. This was my last and final straw going to these factory ran nail salons. They are always so rude, they nickel and dime you to death, and they only care about taking your money. These places tend to have rude nail techs and bad customer service skills. Also poorly run management too. I don't reccomend Maison Nail Spa. It is overpriced because it is in the Commons and it is dirty inside. Attached is a fake aryclic nail that was someone's nail left on the seat. I found that to be very disgusting and unappealing. Also, unhyngeic too. The receptionist should be cleaning the chairs, you sit on while you are waiting for your appointment. Also the receptionists need to be more welcoming, friendly, and have better more professional attitudes. Henry is extremely disrespectful and has a bad attitude. Also the receptionists and him need to be re trained better in customer service too. See photo attached of someone's used acrylic nail left on one of the seats. I've already spent close to $800.00 here since March and I am glad to not give this place my business or money anymore. If I'm paying all of that money, I wan tot feel welcomed, treated with respect, and leave every time feeling happy about my nails. In conclusion, I will be going to my beauty salon where I get my hair done which also does nails, to be getting my bio gel manicures and my gel pedicures now. Please do your research on this place before you go. I hope this review helps. read more

There are very few nail salons in Calabasas that are open on Sundays, as I recently learned. Luckily, Maison is open on Sunday afternoons and I was even able to walk in to get a pedicure. Andy was my nail tech, and he did a great job and the polish still looks perfect a week later. read more

I did not even realize there was a nail salon in the Commons. When I first walk in, I'm greeted instantly and offered any beverages. They have a good selection of nail polishes, cateye, and even a charm book! I got biogel done and my amazing nail technician, Hanna, did an amazing job. Hanna recreated my inspo Pinterest nails perfectly! I also enjoyed my pedicure (sugar scrub + massage) done by Lisa, I believe, but the service and attention to detail is incredible. read more

I came here to get acrylic nails. The guy started and was failing miserably. I get acrylic often and I could tell this guy had no clue what he was doing. The acrylic was thick and choppy. I had to ask what was easier for him, acrylic or gel x? Don't advertise this salon can do acrylic but each nail artist has no skill to do so. They only know how to do gel x!!! I can do that at home for free!! This place is a joke. And that's just about my hands, my toes are ridiculous and another story. The nail tech had the audacity to say "for next time request gel x" LOL there is no next time I am never coming back!!! Next time don't say you know how to do acrylic if you don't!! Overpriced for mediocre nail techs who have no skill! Go somewhere else or save your money. read more

The service was great and efficient, everything was very clean, and they were incredibly accommodating and understanding of all our requests. They made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Genuinely NEVER EVER EVER go here. They absolutely destroyed my nails. The polish ate through my nail causing it to crack across the center. My nails look like they are ROTTEN after removing the nail polish. I went back to the salon to see if they'd make it right and they refused to offer any solutions. The salon is also FILTHY they allow people to bring their pets inside which is ILLEGAL in California. I'd give this salon a 0/10 and recommend literally anywhere else! If I could give 0 stars, I would. I've been coming here for over a year because they offer Bio Gel manicures, but today's visit was by far the worst experience I've had. I was surprised to learn they now charge an additional $10 just to trim your cuticles during a Bio Gel manicure. On top of that, the manicurist was rude throughout the appointment. They were also completely out of several polish colors, and no one apologized or offered an alternative. The most concerning part of my visit was my pedicure. The technician cut my toe so deeply that it would not stop bleeding. Instead of addressing the injury, she laughed. I had to ask her to clean the blood, but she didn't--instead, she painted directly over the wound. For the prices they charge, I expect a clean, professional, and sanitary manicure and pedicure. Instead, I left with a painful cut and serious concerns about hygiene. I'm now worried about developing an infection because of how carelessly the situation was handled. Nini thinks this is finished work. These are my nails after she was "done".They do not care about nail health. It's all about getting you in and out. I use to frequent this place until I realized they were thinning out my nail beds. I kept going back to different techs hoping to find a good one but I never did. Today was my last straw. I was overcharged $20 on top of a manicure just to remove the gel. Their reasoning was because I asked them to not use the drill BECAUSE IT HURT. I really didn't want to leave this review, but I feel obligated to warn others. I had been coming here religiously every two weeks and always had a great experience with Vivian--she's incredibly skilled and careful. But when she was out, I booked with another technician, and it turned into one of the worst salon experiences I've ever had. The technician cut 7 out of 10 of my nails on at least one side, leaving deep, painful cuts. Several bled and stayed sore for days. My fingers were inflamed for three days. The cuts were so bad I had to tape each finger and apply antibiotic ointment daily. They were so sensitive, it hurt just to run my hands through my hair. I paid $85 plus tip--for what ended up being a painful and damaging experience. There was no handwashing requested, no antiseptic or alcohol used, and the technician reused a nail file I saw being used on other clients. This is a major health risk. As a doctor, I take infection control seriously, and what I experienced was absolutely unacceptable. The customer service only made it worse. I called right after the appointment to tell them I was in pain. It got worse when I got home, and I even sent them photos of my cut, inflamed fingers--yet no one responded. I called again today and was told, "We already talked to the tech," as if the pain I experienced wasn't real or worth addressing. The front desk guy was dismissive, barely responsive unless it was about payment, and honestly seemed like he might have been under the influence. To top it off, they require full payment through Venmo, which feels unprofessional and borderline scammy for a legitimate business. I'm reporting this business to the health department for unsanitary and unsafe practices. I'm sharing this because I care deeply about the health and safety of others. You've been warned. read more

I wish there was a zero star option. The absolute worst nail salon I have ever been to. Went here as a last minute option thinking I can trust the reviews. Not only did the technician sloppily paint my finger nails and toes, but I left bleeding from the aggressive cuticle cutting. 2 weeks later and my nails and cuticles are still healing. I had a really disappointing experience at this nail salon, and I feel like people should be aware before booking here. The first time I went in, I wasn't happy with the quality of the work. My nails did not turn out the way I expected, and I noticed issues with both the shape and overall finish. Instead of ignoring it, I calmly brought it up and asked if they could fix it. When I returned, rather than trying to resolve the issue or stand behind their work, I was told that they would not provide me service anymore simply because I had made a complaint the previous time. I was honestly shocked. As a paying customer, I believe it's completely reasonable to expect decent quality and to speak up if something isn't right. Refusing service to a client for respectfully pointing out concerns shows a lack of professionalism and accountability. Good businesses take feedback seriously and use it as an opportunity to improve, not as a reason to turn customers away. I never raised my voice or behaved disrespectfully, so being treated this way felt unfair and unprofessional. It left me with the impression that they are not willing to take responsibility when their work doesn't meet expectations. I've been bringing my grandmother here and it's been okay depending on who you get as your tech. But we went today and I paid $60 only to have my feet hurt like hell afterwards. She cut my foot, didn't even paint inside the lines and the cuticle work is atrocious. She also didn't even bother painting my pinky toenail! I know it's small but it takes a second to put a dot of paint on it. They were very nice but this is terribly done. I will be looking for a new place for me and my grandmother. read more

I've been here a few times now since they changed ownership and every time I've been incredibly happy! I've tried almost every nail salon from Thousand Oaks to Woodland Hills and I haven't been thrilled with any of them. I've had 4 bio gel manicures and 2 regular gel pedicures and I think I've finally found my go-to spot. Each person I've had has paid very close attention to detail and I've been able to last 3 weeks between manicures (I could go longer but I don't like the grow-out) which is great for a busy mom.
