We stopped in before dinner for a couple of Aperol Spritzer's. The first thing we noticed was the excellent air conditioning lol. A little after 6 o'clock in the evening and we had just finished walking the Boboli Gardens and wanted to rest and have a cold drink before dinner. The two people running the place were fantastic. They spoke great English and shared many interesting things about the area. The guy was very funny. It was a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. That made us feel welcome. read more

These guys gouge tourists. They charged me €37 for three single gelato scoops. This is highway robbery.

We were staying at the Old Bridge B&B directly across the street from Maioli. How lucky! Although we could have had breakfast at La Scalata, the sister restaurant, it was not included in the room rate ($13,00 ). Why botther when we had this delightfull little bistrot for cappuccino and a pastry (OMG Pistachio) the best Italian breakfast in my mind. 60 read more

We had breakfast here and felt completely taken advantage of. The prices were outrageously high for what we ordered: 5 pastries, 4 cappuccinos, and 2 fresh juices, which came to €44.50! At the counter, the displayed price for a pastry was €1.50, so we thought it was fine. But as soon as we sat down at a table, the prices suddenly doubled without anyone telling us. Not only were the prices inflated, but the products were not fresh -- the pastries tasted like they were from the day before. For a simple breakfast in Florence, this was a very disappointing and unpleasant experience. Definitely not recommended -- a tourist trap that exploits visitors. read more

We experienced great service in this delightful spot just near the Ponte Vechio. The fresh flaky pastries and fresh fruit with the Italian breakfast, toast and cappuccino were delightful. There are baked goods, sandwiches, the bar and pizzeria upstairs. We took photos of ourselves and loved that the mirror caught the wine bottles in one side and the lovely bakery case as well! They over heard us talk about the birthday celebration and played a birthday song with a tiramisu on the house! We will return when ever in Florence again! Molto Grazie! read more

Good stuff! We stopped in after touring the Pitti Palace Museum. We had lunch and dessert. Three of us had pasta: - Lasagna - Spaghetti - Gnocchi One of us had a sandwich: - Calzone (meat and cheese only) We also shared a Greek Salad and Fried Calamari. For dessert, we had coffees and some sort of sweet treat. The place was air conditioned and staff was helpful. read more

I have Italian friends who used to come here before I was born 30 years ago, maybe more, and told me I had to stop by. Come to find out, there is new ownership and thank goodness! Many people have written badly about this place but let me tell you, I was not disappointed. The staff are friendly and speak English, for those who do not speak Italian, and they have fun music playing in the background. I did not eat dinner, but everyone who left while I ate my fruit salad finished their plates with a smile on their face. Come check it out! read more

35 years ago I was fortunate enough to go to Loyola's Rome campus for a semester. After so many years, finally, I am back with my wife and all but my favorite child. This is across the street from where we're staying (above a ceramic shop - very nice owners). This is our go to point for caffe in the morning and at night before the day ends. Very nice people and prices are reasonable. Good panini and pastries. Good coffee. read more

This is one of those places that will try to rip you off if you are a tourist. I went in for a quick café and water. The cafe clearly states it's 1,3€ but they tried to charge me 4€! Don't give this place your business. It's evident that they are preying on tourists. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but this place sucks. There is no other way to put it. The food was overpriced, but what's worse, it was just plain bad. A sandwich was stale, the risotto was watery, and they have a long way to go before they learn to make a pizza! They have decent WiFi, but that is the only positive thing about this place. If you want good food, go elsewhere. read more

Best gelato I had during my Italian trip. Although I didn't find exotic flavors in this shop, I like Tiramisu the best.
