I've been a member at gyms the length of the spectrum, from $10 a month to $110 and everything in between. Now after several months at Josh Mavilia I can say I've found the best, (for me at least). Imagine, a gym where the trainers actually give a shit about you and your goals and not just how many sessions they can sell you? Trainers that individualize programs specifically for you, then are right there along side you to make sure you're doing it correctly. Then to top it all off, they're just cool people. No gym bro attitudes, no pressure, just good people that want to help others achieve their physical fitness goals. Now, if you're into the meat market scene, this isn't the place for you. However, if you're looking for a small groups atmosphere with attentive trainers, other members that are equally encouraging, and more than a few laughs while you work out, this IS the place for you.

I made the mistake of doing this too early and my child was no longer interested in attending. If I wanted to withdraw, they would only provide a 50% refund. To be clear, this is not a withdrawal of the current session, but the one 4 weeks away. I mentioned in my note Dave the manager, that my child wasn't happy anymore and there were some problems with some of the coaches. I left him 3 messages and they did not respond.

I've bought Living Social deals for the gym two times, and if there are more in the future, I will buy them. The deals say "semi-personal training", but this is about as personal as it gets -- they may be training more than 1 client at a time, but there are never more than 2 or 3, and they'll always stop what they're doing to help you and show you the workouts. This is probably the best workout I've ever had in a gym. I never feel like I'm over exerting myself while I'm there, but the next day, my body is killing me -- the way you WANT to feel when you come back from a great workout. You're always working out different areas of your body, and its a much more modern take on a good workout. No ridiculous 5 mile runs -- instead, they focus on several exercises in small doses. Try it, you'll feel it! The only drawback is the price... it's pretty expensive, but if you can afford it, its worth it. I'm a teacher so I can only afford the Living Social deals, haha... but if you have a considerable budget for the gym each month, go here!
