I really enjoyed the atmosphere at MaineTowne. It's cool that it's in an old home. That gives it a lot of character. The whipped feta was good as an appetizer. The honey helped give it a more interesting taste, but it could benefit from a little more complexity. I had the grilled cheese. The bread was delicious and the tomatoes were a great addition. I was a little underwhelmed by the chips. All in all, it is a reasonably priced restaurant with decent food in a cool setting. We enjoyed our meal and will be back. read more

What a surprising hub of fun for Mainevillians. It was rainy, so we couldn't enjoy the patio. But that's okay because there was enough room inside for the evening's main event - Singo! Apparently this occurs every Thursday, and it totally enhanced our Thursday. (Extra props for the hip-hop theme). The whipped feta appetizer matched the hype. The soft, warm bread by itself was a great, but that dip was addictive. We added on a hot honey flatbread which was also terrific. Another thing that I have to compliment... the generous spirit ratio in the cocktail pours. My 1840 (essentially an old fashioned) knocked me back into 1840, and I'm not complaining at all!The same 'phenomenon' was experienced with my wife's Velvet Espresso M-tini. Nice local restaurant in Maineville. We decided to give it a try while driving through. We shared a Cuban and fries. Sandwich was definitely large enough to split between us. Stopped in today to grab an early dinner and try a newer menu item. This was my first time sitting downstairs at the bar. The music was a tad bit loud considering there were only 6 of us in there. Really loves the overall atmosphere though. It was bright and cozy. Our bartender was attentive and really helpful. Both sandwiches were delicious. The bun for the Cuban was so so good and the meat was super tender. I'm not one that can usually eat a whole sandwich but I did my best. The toasted cheese with the added brisket was on point. I was excited to check out this new spot right downtown. The ambiance is awesome: inside and outside were great! Once it's too chilly to sit outside, though, it's going to be pretty cramped. There is a fun bar menu, we tried a few things and really enjoyed the sangria - it had a bit of a kick, more than I was expecting, but was good. The food menu definitely leaves something to be desired. The menu is very small and the options aren't super great. The waitress said the salad was the best thing on the menu - it was good. But, when salad is the best option on the menu, I think the team needs to rethink some of the dishes. I will give kudos to the Grippos Tots - they were the best part of the evening, hands down. read more

My wife and I met some friends here on a Friday evening. Not too busy. This place has themed rooms for dining as well as outdoor seating and a porch on the 2nd floor that overlooks the street. Definitely a unique dining experience. They even have an outdoor area for kids to play in. As far as the food we had the Poblano Queso dip for an app which was very good. My wife had the B.L.M.T and I had the Meatball Smash. Both were delicious and we would definitely order them again. The menu was small but had unique dishes. Such a fabulous new restaurant in Maineville. This area really needed a place like this. The atmosphere is fun and unique, with each room having a different design. You can sit at a bar, in a private room with regular dining tables, or on the outdoor patio fitted with yard games and televisions. The food is magnificent. The menu isn't big, but it doesn't need to be because they perfected everything. The food is mainly American-style, but it all has upscale twists, so it feels nothing like standard bar food. The whipped feta dip was my favorite. It comes out hot and is incredibly addictive as a dip. They have a variety of sandwiches all packed with flavor. Definitely try the Sloppy Joe because those are tough to find on menus at other restaurants. read more

I went for lunch with two friends. I had the Margherita flatbread and simple salad. They had the grilled cheese and a BLT with Mozzarella and creamy tomato soup. Everything was exceptional. I am delighted to have another dining option nearby and this place was good! It has a patio, bar, and upstairs dining room. Drinks are limited to wine and beer until they get their license for liquor approved (the bartender said this needed to be a ballot issue in Maineville?). It has an old house charm, and I preferred the vibe of the bar and patio versus the upstairs. Parking seemed somewhat limited. Menu is not huge (appetizers, salads, sandwiches) but the queso, salads, and sandwich our table ordered were all very good. Service was also quite good and attentive. I really liked our meals here and will be back. Maine Towne can absolutely be a 5. Let me start with all the positives. 1. Fantastic eating space in a completely renovated historic building. Bar, many indoor seating areas, and a great outdoor area. 2. Great staff. Our hostess was super sweet and our waiter was fantastic and super attentive. 3. Poblano Queso with Frito style corn chips was great. So why a 3? The menu is limited and our salads were meh. I ordered the Mexicali with the dressing on the side. It was mostly lettuce with very little of the listed ingredients that appealed to me (black beans, corn, chicken, pickled peppers, etc). The lettuce was chopped, which was nice. The chicken was cold, so not freshly cooked when I ordered and it didn't have any flavor. In fact, none of the ingredients were seasoned. All flavor is built exclusively into the dressing. For a $17 main meal salad I have had much much better. So 5/5 for everything and with some small tweaks to their food it will be a total 5/5 and I would make the effort to drive there often. read more

Mehhh. Good service, good music, very mediocre food. We met friends here for dinner recently. None of us had been here before. It has a fairly limited menu. Usually that's a good sign. Not this time. Our friends had the MT Soft Pretzel appetizer. We had the Whipped Feta appetizer. The Whipped Feta had a good flavor. Heavy on the garlic, which I like. It was a little too whipped, as it was pretty runny. But it tasted yummy. I ordered the MT Chicken sandwich. My husband had the Pulled Pork. The other orders were the side salad and the Toasted Cheese sandwich. My sandwich was not good at all. It was so bland and flavorless. The side of bbq sauce could not help it. My husband's pulled pork was the same way. And he said it was dry. The others picked at their food and no one finished our food. Actually, my husband and I left almost all of our food. The service was friendly and quick. They played great music and it's a beautiful, historic building. But the food just isn't good enough for me to want to return. read more

This was our first time to Maine Towne and it was a very pleasant experience. I am in a boot because I broke my ankle and sat outside. No problem the server Lacey was accommodating and courteous. The food is way above bar food. I had the grilled cheese sandwich with the white chicken chili and it was outstanding. Not gooey not overdone and tasty. We sat upstairs only 1 other couple in the room so it was a perfect date night atmosphere in this renovated home from the 1800's. Very limited selection. A mediocre "Sloppy Joe" for $17 was all I could find that sounded interesting. I ate less than half and threw the rest away at home. Really poor flavor and a strange crunch, almost like there were potato chips in it. Speaking of the potato chips that came with it, they were terrible. Very disappointing. The queso wasn't very hot (temp). Could do without the chicken pieces in it. And fritos for the chips? Really? Come on guys. My wife says her salad was excellent. So that's a good thing at least Service was good. This was our second visit, and the first one was almost an hour wait for food, but we always try a new place at least twice, knowing any place can have a bad night. This time everything arrived fast. Tonight was the worst service I have had at a restaurant in a long time. We were sat and the waiter didn't come for over 39 minutes. When I flagged him down he said he'd be right back.... Never saw him again so we left. People were leaving the outside area to get their own beers. The food is decent, but this experience has turned us and our friends away from this place. Sat in the back yard area that had several tables with no patrons, but were covered with dirty dishes for the entire time we were there. No one was cleaning tables. Now on to the food: Meatball App- I'll be honest, not the best thing I have ever eaten. Smoked meatball with marinara and mozz was a clash of two worlds that I will probably avoid colliding again. The meatballs themselves were a bit tough. Now to be honest, the meatball itself tasted good and the sauce tasted good I am just not a fan of Italian/Southern fusion. Whipped Feta- this was awesome. Greek Salad- my daughter got this and I'll be honest, I was too bloated to try it but it looks awesome. Loved the atmosphere. The decor is great and the aura of the place is very welcoming. My barber here in Loveland recommended Maine Town restaurant , several of his customers highly recommend this bistro for lunchtime. Wife had the Mexical salad - roasted chicken, romaine lettuce and a host of seasoned zesty flavors. It was flavorful, tasty and wife said she would ordered this item again. I had the MT Chicken sandwich and it also was excellent. Roasted chicken on a ciabatta roll with a medley of savory tastes. I look forward to trying other items on the menu. read more
