I was here shopping for a wedding dress. This is a decent dive bar in the bridal district. Somewhere I would have frequented at a younger age. From the name, I definitely expected a more hipster restaurant but it was very far from that lol. Certainly not a place you'd enjoy a nice glass of wine. This is a bar first, so expect locals at the bar chatting with the staff. They are not waiters and from what I understand, the food comes from a food truck in the back. You sit wherever, order from a QR code and one of the bartenders brings your food. There is a water cooler for self serve water, and two single person bathrooms. The place was kind of clean, but could use some updating. All of the food is greasy bar food. Fried food and burgers. They have an assortment of domestic beers, thc drinks, and liquor. I ordered chicken tex mex eggrolls and fried pickles. My friends got a patty melt, burger, brussels sprouts, and tater tots. Be advised, anything cooked is done so in beef tallow! Not for vegetarians or vegans although i think there was a salad on the menu. The food was okay, no complaints really, it just wasn't what I would normally like to eat. If you like bar food, I think you would really enjoy this place! The staff was friendly, no complaints there either. I would not likely return here - during my next round of dress shopping, i'll probably leave the area to eat. read more

If you want greasy hangover food this is it. That's not what I wanted. I was most excited for the cheese curds, but I question if there was even cheese in them. They tasted more like a greasy hockey puck. The boneless chicken wings were overcooked and hard. The brisket chili was cold. The pickles and salad were probably the only ok thing on the menu. ordered doordash for lunch - I have no means to get anywhere. I ordered red wine & co . I got a wrap with a side of fries for $13 . The portion was a nice size and the wrap was delicious! It has the perfect amount of ranch . The fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy ! It also was delivered hot within 25 minutes of when I ordered . We had a Memorial this past weekend at Redwine for my nephew (he was a former employee) and Lindsey and Seth were very accommodating to us. We held the event in their enclosed patio. It was a bit chilly but they worked hard to make sure the heaters were cranking, the tables were clean and all the little extras were taken care of. Food was good and hot! Inside we saw a lot of people just enjoying this bright and cheerful place.The owners are truly wonderful people and I am looking forward to visiting their establishment in the future for a drink and some food! read more

Had been hearing some buzz about this place, so we stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Managed to snag a parking spot right in front. Sat at one of their picnic tables. I had a BLT, salad and chili. Wife had a small salad with chicken and pretzels with queso. Portions a little on the small side, but everything was good. Service friendly and attentive. All the food is made outside on a food truck, but you couldn't really tell. They had lots of beers on tap. I told the server I liked wheat beers, so she brought me a mango something-or-other and I really liked it. my girlfriend and I had heard about this place and wanted to check it out on a Saturday afternoon we are both craving BBQ. Their menu look to be just about perfect and reviews give them high marks for the kind of things we wanted, in particular she actually wanted barbecue nachos. They have that here! parking in the area was pretty easy, the bartender to order quickly, and there were plenty of large tables to sit at, as well as bar games and televisions if we'd like while we waited. we ordered the barbecue nachos and a side of mac and cheese, after asking what the mac and cheese was like and getting a bit confused description from the bartender. However when our food came there was a problem, the brisket was cold. Not like I used to be warm and had been left out maybe too long or they didn't get it to his right away like it was cold. Straight from the fridge, cold. All the other toppings, the cheese, the sour cream, the olives were also cold. when the waitress came by to ask how we were liking it I asked her if this is the way it was supposed to be and she said no not at all, she left the plate there and went back to reorder a new plate. I was really hungry so I just went ahead and ate some cold brisket, which was pretty good, the barbecue sauce a little sweet for my tasting, but not bad by any means, and the brisket was pretty well cooked, however long ago that had been. When the apparent chef came back to deliver our new meal she was not only a little bit rude, but seem to be pretty upset that the previous waitress hadn't taken the old plate of food, she threw a bad attitude and snide comment at me while grabbing the old plate and hoping that this new one was warm enough for me to eat. It was, and I don't feel bad in the least that I ate the meat off the previous plate. so all in all I'd probably give them one star for bad service, a rude attitude, and then doubling down on that when supposedly fixing it. But the barbecue was actually all right, and the nachos turned out to be a good plate once they got them right.Also forgot to mention that the mac and cheese wasn't very good, unless you like a super creamy, wet, flavorless cheese sauce. read more

We just found out about this little local gem and wanted to give it a try for a carry-out dinner. Their menu focuses on appetizers, wings, barbecue and sides that are made from a food truck stationed at Redwine. I tried a brisket sandwich and mac and cheese and my husband got a pulled pork sandwich and greens. We split a large loaded tater tots. Sandwiches come with coleslaw, but you can pay a $2 upgrade charge for a different side. We both loved our sandwiches which were smoky, tender and packed on a challah bun. The greens were a bit spicy, but also tasty. The mac and cheese was out of this world, creamy and it tasted as if there were several cheeses in it. The best mac and cheese I've had from any barbecue place. The disappointment was the tater tots. You can have them loaded three different ways and we got the cheese, bacon and green onions. There was one tiny glob of cheese in the corner and that was all. We will definitely order from here again and would like to go into Red Wine as my husband was impressed with its atmosphere. read more

Very close to where my daughter n law was searching for a bridal dress so we stopped in for lunch. The place was not busy and there were several people working at the bar, but we were not greeted and followed the instructions on a chalk board in the middle of the entrance. We sat down and ordered our food listed as from a food truck. I ordered a Diet Coke and it arrived promptly to the table. The two other girls also received their drinks quickly. We then ordered food and began the wait..... oh the wait... 35 mins later ONE person in our party got their food...... 15 later I received mine.... And about 5 mins after that the other person. Whew. Nobody ever offered us refills on our drinks, nor checked on the table. The first person served waited to eat until we all received our food so of course her food was cold at this point. They weren't busy, just very inattentive to customers. Only concerned with the bar area. I would never return to this place. Horrible customer service . read more

I've had the pleasure of seeing this place throughout the renovation process. And although they are still not completely finished they have decided to open for business! (Keep that in mind if you plan to visit right away) Right now they are serving canned beer both craft and basic as well as liquor and cocktails. The draft taps will be coming soon! This bar is just what the bridal district and the city of Reading needed. The bar has a very rustic feel to it with exposed brick and industrial style tables and barstools. The owners are very nice and accommodating to guests! Another cool thing I love is the vevo screen. It plays music videos to go along with the music, how cool! This will definitely be my go to bar in the area, and I think many will agree once they check it out! I can't wait to see what else they have planned. P.S. Awesome craft beer selection in an industrial rustic setting. A wonderful neighborhood bar with a fantastic onsite food truck that offers southern inspired food such as bbq, Nashville hot chicken sandwich and shrimp and grits! Since RCO is a bar and not a restaurant, typically you order at the bar for all food and drinks, since they do not have waitresses. This is nice since you don't have to go out to the food truck and order, like you would at other places who have on site food trucks. They will even bring the food to you, rather than having to brave the weather and go outside to retrieve your food order. On slower days I have had a bartender go the extra mile and take my order, which was nice , but usually all orders much be placed at the bar. read more

I said I might be back this week, and I was. Today I tried their nachos, which could have been ordinary - but definitely good - but they use candied jalapeños, and that really sets them apart. If I had noticed on the menu that their nachos have lettuce on them, I would have requested them without lettuce, because that is a recent trend that I don't care for. I like lettuce, but it doesn't belong on nachos. You can get them with chicken, chili, BBQ pork or BBQ brisket, but after that chili Monday that was 95% brisket (and wonderful brisket it was!), I was afraid the rest of the dish would be overwhelmed if I added anything, and these nachos definitely didn't need anything added to them. read more

Cute local spot that uses a food truck to supply their menu, which had a Louisiana inspired theme to it. This was recommended by some ladies at a bridal shop nearby so we decided to try it. The fried fish was crunchy but a bit dry. For the price and chill environment it wasn't bad but I wish the taste was a bit better. I previously lived in Kansas City and would love when people would come into town and we got to show off our amazing food scene. When we moved to Reading a few years ago, we struggled to find places nearby that could be go-to places to take family and friends when they came into town. Redwine has become that place for us. Their food is great and they have a solid craft beer selection on tap. The atmosphere is fun (darts, shuffleboard, open garage doors, nice patio) and they have added cool events like trivia on Tuesday nights. What puts them over the top for me is how genuine they are and how they think about customer service. They are a bar with food, but they try to accommodate the COVID upheaval with mobile ordering from the table (which I love!). When I've had one issue in the past with a large order being incorrect, they went above and beyond to make it right. It is our go-to local date night spot and I wish we had even more gems like this in the Reading area. read more

I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich with coleslaw it was excellent definitely a must have if you love spicy . My father got the brisket sandwich which he was not disappointed at all, also ordered a side of Mac and cheese for my one year old and he ate it all sooo cheesy even shredded melted cheese on top ! We went to red wine and co tonight for dinner and I gotta say I am so pleasantly surprised. I lived in reading for years and always hoped there would be a revitalization of some of the storefronts in the bridal district and that has happened and it is fantastic. The place itself is a very nice, small area with some tables and TVs and a maybe 8 seat bar with some good taps and a slushie machine, from which I had the lemonade and vodka slushie and it was fantastic. In the back is a small patio area and their food truck The Fat Trap. I got the fat trap burger and the sidewinder fries and my girlfriend got the Nashville hot chicken and some tots. First the tots were good and crunchy but the sidewinders are really where it's at, they are crispy and light with a great seasoning that reminds me of these old animal shaped fries they had at the Cincinnati zoo back in the 80s that I truly loved and I'm so happy to have found these. The Nashville chicken was really crispy and juicy and great but the burger was truly fantastic, the seasoning was amazing, the burger was juicy and cheesy and overall it's one of the best burgers I've had in years. We will definitely be back to try more stuff, I really recommend it! read more

Love Redwine & Co! It has a great laid back, welcoming vibe. The food is absolutely delicious- I recently tried their grilled macaroni & cheese and it was as delicious as I'd hoped! Their boneless wings are meaty & crunchy, topped (now drowned) with tasty sauce. My kiddos enjoyed the shuffle board table- and so did I! Someone at my table shared the cheese curds and we loved those too! Smart restaurant to do what is on their menu really well! This place was OK. We checked it out on a Saturday night and it wasn't all that crowded. A lot of people seemed to know eachother in there so maybe it's a popular hangout for the locals. We ordered fried pickles because I saw a pic of them and they looked great. They recently switched from "spears" to "chips," though, and weren't good at all. Barely any pickle and lots of salty, greasy breading. I had 2 giant chunks of pure breading with nothing inside. I would recommend their margaritas and smoked chicken wings though. She is extremely outgoing and amazing to start a conversation with. I love coming here because it's a clean, safe, and fun environment. It's a hub for people of all demographics. Also tried the cheese tots, fried pickles, wings, Sidewinder fries, pulled chicken sandwich and a Bloody Mary. I'm constantly on the lookout for a great Bloody Mary and this one did not disappoint. The wings were just ok but my girlfriend said the fried pickles were the best she's ever had. Not only was my chicken sandwich delicious but I would go as far as to say it is the best sandwich I have ever had! It was perfect and I cannot stop thinking about it. I ordered food from The Fat Trap, and that is what I am reviewing. I am always on the lookout for new food places to explore. I am so glad I found out about this place. In general, the food is full of flavor. I ordered the nashville hot chicken, and boy, does this place know how to do spicy food. Also, a very good choice of bun for the sandwich. It soaks up the spice, but does not fall apart. I had macaroni and cheese, and I have to say it is one of the best in the area. It is creamy, cheesey, and bursting with flavor. Out of all the good food I ate, I have to say there is something really special about the banana pudding. I do not like super sweet desserts. This pudding had some sweet, some salt, some crunch from meringue, and you could still definitely taste the banana. I am very impressed by my first experience with the food, and will definitely come back to try their other selections. read more

Horrible experience! My husband and I walked in on a Friday night around 9. It was our first time at the place and we were very excited to try it out! We sat down and observed two waitresses obtaining orders from nearby tables. There were only 3 tables occupied, including my husband and I, and a full bar. We observed the two waitresses look over at our table multiple times but they never came over to acknowledge we were there. After about 5 minutes we chatted about why we weren't being addressed for our order. We sat another 5 minutes...I made eye contact with a waitress and asked her if we could place an order. She stated that we needed to order at the bar and that there used to be a sign instructing that but it must have been taken down. We got up, walked to the bar, waited about 3 minutes...still not acknowedged and we left. If ordering at the bar is the standard at your establishment, why are waitresses taking orders at the tables? And also, why do we have to wait 10 minutes as your customers to even be addressed and told that that is the standard? read more

Had invited a friend and was sooo embarrassed by our SERVICE. We sat at the bar directly in front of the bartender and yet, my friend sat for much over 15 minutes with an empty glass while the bartender took order after order from folks coming up for food orders. My friend even commented that we were sitting in a mirage and invisible. It was as if someone had flipped the switch from one day to the next. Note to management: Perhaps a designated area at the bar "order here/pick up here" rather than the unorganized affair that currently exists would help to minimize such a customer disaster in the future and help the bartender in managing existing customers. . . . just a suggestion. We walked in on a Fri night around 7. The place was half full/empty. A few female employees gathered at the end of the bar with friends. They were so loud!!! Between the excess background music (band was not on yet) along with the employees' noise, we almost left at that point. It was so loud I could not hear the person next to me.
