Though is smallish compares to others, most vendors here are from the area and really friendly! If you go around 3:30 pm, a lot of the vendors even offers end of day sale! And of course, after shopping there is the business area on Main St and Toogood Pond where you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon!

There are vendors for fresh gluten-reduced peach and blueberry pies, COBS bread, organic honey, gorgeous floral arrangements, organic skincare products, assorted deli sausages and cheeses, hot dogs and hamburgers for nibbling on while you peruse the stalls, and of course fresh fruit and vegetable stalls. We picked up a basketful of rainbow-coloured carrots, tomatoes, beans, eggplant, zucchini, and peppers for $5.99. This is a great time of year to pick up peaches and blueberries at the peak of freshness. Everything is fresh and the vendors are friendly and happy to talk about their products. The market is open Sundays from May to October, 10am to 4pm.

As famous as Unionville Main Street is, for farmers' market I prefer the one held on Markham Main Street. This farmers' market opens on Saturdays usually starting Mothers' Day weekend and ends beginning of October. There may be 10 or 12 vendors here. A few sell locally grown produce. One sells grass fed beef. Another one sells poultry and farm eggs. One or two sell bakeries. The cafe on the same street has a booth for lunch and breakfast items. Two sells jewelleries. Then a few rotate among health and beauty, olive oils, honey, etc.. The prices are higher than the grocery stores, but we don't come to farmers' market because the local products are cheaper than the imported products, do we? The only issue I have is that I wish the chosen location is bigger. Maybe a longer street, etc.. There are ample parking at the parking lot nearby and on the street. Come and enjoy the sunshine.

Love to Support my local farms!…read more Beautiful store front with a unique boutique made from salvaged pieces and decor. Main feature here is the hydroponic lettuces and they are sharing the store with artisan artists and local farms. They have been selling lettuce locally during covid and finally have a store set up this week. The way they grow lettuce is sustainable, using a bathtub of water to circulate the large greenhouse adjacent to the parking lot. The fish(trout?) help feed the plants with extra nutrients. It shows how fresh and healthy it is when you see the lettuce head up close. I appreciate how they bundle the roots too to keep the freshness even longer! It's roughly $3-4 per bunch. They are still in soft opening phase, so prices and hours are still being adjusted. Located right off Reesor Rd, keep right onto a dirt-gravel road to a small parking lot. Tours to the lettuce hydroponic greenhouse are resuming soon.

I need to give a shout-out to a fella' who has a fairly spacious dried fruit and nuts stall. You can easily find it by asking someone where it's located in the "maze". He carries quality pistachios from Iran, figs from Türkiye and all sorts of almond creations from Afghanistan. We bought a large box of exceedingly freshly-dried figs for only $20! My husband scooped up a huge bag of pistachios which were very fresh. Give this man's booth a try if you're there. There's a ton of unique stuff available at the different vendors even though the place has slimmed down post-COVID.
