For reference, this is the third time in my life I've needed off-site storage, and it has been the best arrangement so far. About 14 years ago I used a DC local storage place, which was fine, except they assigned you a gate code, which I accepted. Then my wife and I needed a place near our home to store some furnishings for about a year, and chose U-haul storage, which was, well, acceptable, but not great. OC Mini Storage: We are renting climate-controlled storage, so I'll address that. It is Very clean, well-lit, and easy to access. Unlike U-haul, you don't have to buy or supply a particular type of lock; Lee, the owner/manager, lets you use whatever type of lock you want, and is happy to make suggestions if you're not sure. He also doesn't try to "up-sell" you a more expensive lock than what you need. Making the arrangements/paperwork went easily, and Lee set my gate entry code to suit me so that I would easily remember the number, vs. assigning me an arbitrary code, a nice touch. The one time I called and got voicemail, Lee returned my call promptly. Very happy with Ocean City Mini-storage.

Stephanie and Dickie both changed my words into negative and made them evil, when I am nothing of the sort. I was simply asking for exact numbers I would owe with late charges et al. She threatened the call was being recorded and hung up on me--simply when I notated this "fluctuating number" they wouldn't give me--and I called their Devon practices inhumane. Because she didn't seem to hear a word I was revealing about my struggles, simply ignored everything I said, and moved on as if I didn't say it. I found that inhumane as a company management response to my call. It "seems to me" like their late charges are similar to a "variable" APR, because they won't give you a number you will owe in the future. To threaten a "recorded call"--are they litigiously prepared, for people like me who seek out transparency in numbers? It seems every word I expressed was changed into negative and taken personally, instead of just being professional and transparent with numbers. You will be truly disappointed in both the location upkeep (very muddy and unkempt) and the management experience--WOWzers--if you choose this storage.
