Kelly is an amazing host and person to work with when we were planning our daughter's baby shower for 20 guests. Lots of compliments from our guests about the appearance of this venue. We would HIGHLY recommend Main Street Station for a smaller venue atmosphere! read more

3/5 main st station. So I went for dinner could not decide what to get so I went with my boring chicken fajitas not great but ok. There is to much liquid on the plate I got the fajitas not sure grease or something. There is a slight salt taste to it I assume it's the seasoning. Big portions. My friend had the (big burrito ) not sure the name. Was a great size. I tried the steak. It did not have much flavor to me. But maybe with all the stuff that n the burrito it was better. They liked it. My draw back was the server was a lil off putting. I walk in and ask where do we go to sit? Her response is pick a table! Said with attitude. After we sat I realize she is alone in the whole place and it's full. I would be a lil busy also. Bus boy was great and helpful. Would try again and get something different and now I know just have a seat . read more

I just went there with my girlfriend & the food is so bland. I don't know how they can advertise as a Mexican restaurant if they don't have a clue how to cook and or know how to get it right. Please save yourself the trouble & pass on this place. read more

Main Street Station is one of my favorite Mexican places in the area. I haven't even found one near my school in Boston that I like better. The service is friendly, the food is delicious, and the bill is usually quite reasonable. The decor is really interesting and unexpected. Since the restaurant is the entire McHenry train station, old train line signs hang everywhere. Booms and lights decorate the walls. Signs from Wells Fargo announcing the way to travel across the US in just four days greet you at your table. It makes for a great atmosphere. Every Monday is Dollar Taco Night, so my family usually goes then. You can get just about anything you want in your Dollar Taco, except steak. They come with cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. The chips and salsa at this restaurant are phenomenal. I think they make the salsa fresh every day, and they might even make the chips. They're bottomless, and come even if you're just getting some drinks. Their margaritas are hit or miss, and their drinks can be rather expensive. A pitcher of margaritas is over $20. They're usually pretty healthy with the tequila though. They do have a full bar, so you can get anything from beer and wine to shots and mixed drinks. I look forward to coming to this restaurant every time I'm home from school. If you like Mexican food, you really can't miss it. read more

Never disappoints. Has the special today, skirt steak w/hot peppers. AWESOME! Only 4 stars because the owner is always grumpy and borderline rude. read more

I love the food, and when I walk in I'm greeted with a hello from the owner. She's nice! I especially like the waitress which I'm sorry I don't know her name but her husband is the cook. This is a weekly eatery for us. Thank you read more

Do not go here!! Owner is very rude and seems to not want any business. Don't order thru doordash because your order won't go thru and the owner will be rude and unhelpful to the driver. I've never eaten there but now I definitely won't go there. I'll tell everyone what happened. Rude rude rude!!! read more

Let me start by saying their guacamole is amazing and worth it for this alone. That's kind of where the goodness ended for us. We ordered through Uber Eats and expected our dinner to arrive about an hour after ordering, cool no big deal it's Saturday night. An hour comes and goes, then an hour and a half and I called the restaurant. The woman on the phone was nice but clueless and said they're not really set up to work with Uber eats. Okay that does not help me, you're on the app. A half an hour later we call the driver and he said that they were just now making the food. TWO HOURS LATER we get our order. I had the cheese enchiladas and it tasted like they used velveeta type of cheese. We've been here before but probably never again. I get that everyone is doing their best- I have a 5 year old that now ate at 8pm....come on. read more

Was yelled at in front of other customers for leaving a $40 tip. We actually left a $60 tip on a $400 bill. Absolute worst dining experience I've ever had. Will never be back. read more

We go hear a lot with friends and have never had anything but a good time and good food! Service has never been an issue! Get the queso, home made salsa and chips can't be beat! I'm this is the best Mexican food in the area. read more

We went here on a Saturday night, during Labor Day weekend. We arrive at 7:55pm, sit ourselves in the dining room, where others were enjoying their meals. 15 mins later, we were finally greeted by a waitress, who proceeds to tell us, "Oh, I'm sorry... we're closed!" Now I ask you.... What well-to-do restaurant closes before 8:00pm... that hasn't done that before....?!? We were upset because we love the food here, and always have great service!! read more

This place has good food but they've changed their menu we were there today April 9, 2022 and they've change their menu to à la cart so now you're paying for absolutely everything including beans rice sour cream guacamole and it's not cheap I would not recommend this place for Mexican food you can get it cheaper at other places I was very disappointed that they did everything our cart we won't be back really sad though it used to be very busy and now it was just us and they're closed on Sunday that tells me they're going down words read more

This is all I have to say...GROSS, GROSS, GROSS. Our meat tasted disgusting. Please save your money and your stomach. read more

I have to admit, I was a little worried about coming here but wow! It was so good. And inexpensive! We had 2 margaritas each (if they have them when you go, ask for the red pear margarita if you like sweet drinks), a small guacamole (which was enormous), the sampler appetizer (again, enormous), two main entrees which were delicious (stuffed stone crab special and a shrimp & jalepeño special) and we both ordered flan (once again - gigantic). All that for $50! Service was a little slow but extremely friendly. Restaurant dining room is very clean and decorated with a classy train theme. We didn't visit the bar but it looked like it was hopping with McHenry locals. Will definitely come back! read more

Probably the worst Mexican restaurant in McHenry. We thought we would try some place new since we usually end up at Las Palmas. First, the place is super small which was surprising. The windows are super drafty so we were quite chilled while eating. The margaritas are super sugary and very small. I would equate them to margarita soda. The fajitas were super salty but otherwise they were good in comparison to most others because they actually used fresh vegetables. They also came with guacamole which is usually an extra charge. The mole sauce was more like jello pudding than mole sauce. Worst of all, the service was terrible. Just terrible. We waited 20 minutes to get our check and over 10 minutes after we handed it to her. We definitely won't eat here ever again. read more

My family goes here once a week. They know our order and never get it wrong. They are friendly and always clean up after my messy son and won't let me clean great specials- drinks are hit or miss Can't go wrong with beer read more

Don't ever go there, poor help, incompetent waitresses, Waited 50 min to get our food. read more

Very solid Mexican food and really good margaritas. Went to Main Street Station last night with the family. They were a little confused about the train, train station, and train theme of a mexican restaurant but they got over it. I had the steak burrito with cheese on top and 2 margaritas. The burrito was very tasty and the margaritas were strong, the way I like them. The endless chips and salsa was a bonus. It is hard to find good Mexican food. I think I may have found my favorite in Mchenry. read more

I have been here twice. The first time I was very happy with the food and the service. The second time however, got me to stop eating Mexican food for quite some time. I had tamales. I thought it was odd that they were hard on the inside but I only had tamales a few times in my life so I continued to eat them. Then guess what happened...about an hour later I got sick....very sick. I will never step foot in this place again. read more

We were there last night for the Valentines day special. We are regular customers and it is our favorite place for Mexican food. Last night the place was packed and overflowing. Camilla, our server was doing an outstanding job taking care of everyone. The negative comment, my first. She was the only server in the building. Why would you have a holiday special and not be properly staffed. Owners ,this was very poor management, on your part. Camilla, saved the evening. read more

This hidden jewel has some of the best Mexican food I've ever had outside of Mexico. Huge portions and great prices.

Great steak fajitas! Everything else was good. I wasn't as impressed as other people with the selection they provide. Prices were about the same as anywhere else that serves Mexican food. read more

The food is good and the prices are good. The restaurant was a little smoky and dark.

If you go here you must try the fajitas! This is my go too and it feeds two plus possible leftovers. The steak is amazing but the chicken is pretty good too. The rest of the menus is ok, but if I go it's only for the fajitas and margaritas read more

Good food, good prices. Been a McHenry staple for years. Try the combo's or a steak fajita.

Place was good. Not anything to rave about, just good. If a friend wanted to go there, I'd go again but if not choose to go there again.

Awkward! First of all. Don't walk in the trackside entrance. It opens right in to the middle of the dining room with a group of occupied tables. There's no dedicated hostess stand and the waitresses just seemed confused when we asked for a table. They may need more help or our waitress was just oblivious to us. Slowwwww getting refills. The chips are a little heavy. Not the lighter corn chips you may be used to. Not warmed, but not stale either. The salsa was fine. Homemade and mediocre. When our entrees came out they were cold. Bummer! I had their "Hot! Hot!" Steak with ranchero sauce. Not that hot, but raw diced onions covering it? Culinary fo paux! I was hoping it would be good since it's so close to me, but I probably won't go back. read more

Our weekly must go to place! Mondays are dollar tacos, Tuesdays are half price margaritas we love our waitress and she always treats us great even though our 2 year old is a crazy trouble maker. read more

Excellent food, excellent service! Love Taco Monday!!

A kitschy Mexican restaurant inside a vintage themed train station. It's quaint and sometimes you just want to get away. Large menu.

Usually the food is good and the service decent. As of late, neither is true. Seems they have 2 waitresses serving 80 people. Hope you're not in a hurry. When you order, expect to have something close to what you ordered, not exactly what you ordered. As for drinks and refills, bring your own or you'll sit around thirsty for a long time. Shame too, because at one time, it was one of the better spots in town. read more

The food preparation was somewhat slow and the margaritas were weak but the staff was friendly and the food delicious. Great value with large portions. Highly recommend the steak burrito and chicken fajitas (a "1/2" order of the later still left plenty to take home). Fun decor. read more

Good food, good prices. Service is usually slow but for the love of god, stay away on Sundays. Service is awful. NO free soda refills FYI
