Ac/dc tribute band we saw at the vixen

As always, the vixen delivered. Opening band Pete's diary was phenomenal. I've never heard them before. Highly recommend. I would see them again then came on the cover band jump. Very energetic. Amazing made me feel like I was at an actual Van Halen show upstairs bar in VIP. Seating area is always wonderful not having to wait on cocktails!! as always the venue was clean well organized by staff and friendly!!

The vixen - Three people stand close together in front of a black wall with a silver damask pattern and a neon sign that reads 'The Vixen.' The group includes two women and one man, all smiling at the camera. The woman on the left has long blonde hair, glasses, and is wearing a tan coat. The man in the middle has a beard, is wearing a gray beanie and a dark jacket. The woman on the right has dark hair and is wearing a leather jacket. The setting suggests they are at an entertainment venue or bar, with the neon sign and decorative wall as background elements.

No food just a cool music venue but they have food next door. Music sounded great, I love how the floor is tilted so everyone has a great view. I will be back

talent! - A live music performance features two guitarists and a drummer on stage, with the guitarists dressed in black suits. The stage is lit with green and purple lights, and a large digital screen behind them displays colorful neon-style graphics including stars, musical notes, and holiday-themed icons. The scene captures the energy of a concert setting with professional lighting and visual effects.

This venue is great for enjoying shows of all different types. Comedy, local bands, it seems there is something going on there all week. Depending on the show, they may have tables, standing only or assigned seating. Front of the house is a bar with tables. The location is fabulous with assorted dining opportunities and near the Riverwalk. Large parking lot across the street as well as on street parking.

Bar area low and needs revising

Poor service at vixen in Mchenry . Can't even give a lime with corona and kicked out for grabbing my own lime. Learn how to bartend!!!

the screen of the app - The image features a sound level meter app interface with a large needle indicating a peak sound level of 108.1 dB. The app displays an average sound level of 107.0 dB and a maximum of 113.9 dB. The interface includes controls for pause and download, a color-coded decibel scale, and a graph at the top showing sound frequency and amplitude. The app is in the 'Meter' mode, with navigation options at the bottom for camera, dosimeter, data, and settings.

Great Venue to have in McHenry. I would like to go more...but. Maybe its just my age, but the live music is so loud it is hard to sit through. My phone app was running over 100 decibels the entire show. Just dial it down from eleven. The layout is top notch. Bar area is very spacious.

the neon sign for the vixen - A neon sign with the text 'The Vixen' is mounted on a dark, patterned wall featuring a damask design. The sign is illuminated in white, casting a glow on the wall. The setting appears to be an indoor entertainment venue with subdued lighting and decorative wallpaper, possibly a lounge or bar area.

I came here to perform and when I say this is a really nice venue. I learned this used to be a movie theater and I think it's really awesome how they turned it into a music venue/place that you can do comedy. The staff is phenomenal and friendly. The green room is amazing and honestly I would definitely come back here they have a nice bar and snacks!

great venue. however the fact that bands can only play until 10:30 due to a DJ is ridiculous. the bands seem to agree.

Great time, he was hilarious and we definitely need to laugh more! We enjoyed our first time here! It's a 2 item minimum (drinks OR food) which is cool. We aren't drinkers all the time and we drove 45 minutes so we didn't wanna drink. We ordered food and it was good! We had a Caesar salad, seasoned fries, cheeseburger eggrolls and a brownie sundae. All tasted great! Looking forward to catching another show soon!

I've been a fan of comedy since I was old enough to smile, and I've been supporting comedy clubs…read morelike this one for over 20 years. I spend my hard-earned money here often, and customers like me help keep this business open, keep shows running, and help pay the staff. As the cost of everything keeps rising -- from ticket prices to surcharges to taxes -- we continue spending our dollars because we love the experience. Our money matters. But this weekend was different. Illinois and Wisconsin both reported record-breaking snowfall. From Saturday through early Sunday morning, we had over 11 inches of snow in my area. Roads were dangerous, snowplows couldn't keep up, cars were crashing, and a weather safety advisory was issued telling us not to travel. I'm also handicapped, and my car was completely snowed in along with every local street. Because of this, I reached out to the Improv management team for updates about the Corey Holcomb show nov 30 830pm show to be exact. Nothing was posted on the website, so I emailed explaining my concerns. No one responded. The day of the show, I called and asked to speak to the box office manager. The woman who answered -- a Caucasian manager who introduced herself as Christina -- was extremely rude. She talked over me, refused to hear my concerns, and initially didn't even want to get on the phone. When she finally did, she dismissed everything I said. Despite us getting 11 inches of snow -- the worst since 1951 -- she told me, "We paid Corey to be here, so deal with it. It's winter." I was shocked. Corey has resources, drivers, and support. I don't. I was traveling two and a half hours away, and when I bought my tickets four months ago, nobody -- not me, not her, not Corey -- could have predicted this storm. Instead of empathy, she basically told me my situation was my problem. What hurts most is knowing that I work hard just like everyone else, and these shows are recreational -- we don't have to support them. In an economy where prices are climbing, jobs are disappearing, and people are losing what they have, the bare minimum a business should offer is empathy and understanding. But this management team showed neither. I spend on an average $150 on your watered-down drinks, your overcrowded seating, your uncomfortable arrangements, and food so basic you don't even offer cheese on your tacos. It takes 40 minutes just to get a napkin even on a half-packed night. Yet management acts like customers owe them something, instead of realizing we are the reason they have jobs at all. Ma'am, you should be humble. Positions of authority can disappear in an hour. When you leave your job and spend your own money somewhere, I guarantee you expect to be treated with respect. That's exactly what I deserved when I reached out with a legitimate concern. Management is supposed to know service recovery, to handle issues with tact, professionalism, and care. You showed none of that. You weren't personable, friendly, or empathetic -- and you came across as prejudiced on top of it. When I asked for corporate information, you refused to provide it. So I hope corporate sees this message, because I will make sure people know how their loyal patrons are being treated. A person with your attitude should not be representing this establishment -- you'd be better off packing boxes in a storage facility, somewhere far away from customers you clearly don't respect your brand or those who patronize it at best !

We all had a good laugh about this (both the performers and our group) and our group quietly hoped that the performance would actually be funny as there wasn't a huge crowd to buffer with. All of that to say, we were absolutely delighted by the show. The group of performers that evening were wonderful and truly funny. You could see their connection, adaptability and ability to think on their feet. It truly was an enjoyable experience at the Improv and we were happy to have gone. They put 50 kids in a gym with counselors that are not of legal age themselves (14 year old children). No structure! Chaos! Selling junk food to kids. My daughter was there the first day and it will be her last time at Improv Playhouse. Our 12 year old daughter wanted to take an acting summer camp. We called Improv Playhouse, a lady explained that our daughter should register for a version of the camp called showstopper, which is intended for 4th-9th grade instead of broadway bound which is intended for 1st-3rd grade. The lady suggested that we read more about their programs. We went on the website and found the Improve Playhouse channel on YouTube. We watched the video Improv Moana Camp (Link provided), which featured a group of about fifteen 4th-9th grade children taking acting classes and putting on a Moana Production. We read the mission statement. My daughter liked it, and said that is what she wanted. The camp was $755 for 10 days (two weeks), ran at the middle school. We thought we did our homework. We were expecting 4th-9th graders, groups of about 15-20 children, and acting activities. On the first day of camp, as we are walking in, all kids walking in are kindergarten through third grade. My daughter got nervous and said all kids are little. I told her that they probably have multiple camps running. Greeting the children were very young counselors. Most counselors were 14 year olds from the same middle school. They brought all the kids into a gym where they remained the entire day (9:00 am - 3:00 pm). There were about 50 children. They did not separate the children by age, there were no acting classes/activities, kids were not even taken to the cafeteria to eat lunch, but had to eat lunch on a dusty gym floor. There were no chairs, kids had to sit on the floor the entire day. They were selling junk food and candy to children at lunch. When my wife picked up my daughter, she was very disappointed and said It was very chaotic, unstructured, and a waste of time. She said it felt like the park district camp and is not what she was expecting and what we saw on the improv playhouse channel. Right away my wife asked if we can cancel the rest of the camp and asked to talk to someone in charge. Counselors went to get someone. When my wife explained that the camp was not what my daughter expected and we would like to cancel it, Mr. James said we can but we need to email the office. My wife emailed the office right away (administrative manager, Rachel Kwiecinski), but Mrs. Kwiecinski replied that there will not be refunds given. My wife called her and explained what was going on and asked her to refund the money, but to be prorated. Mrs. Kwiecinski said she will have to talk to the bookkeeping and will try to get a prorated refund. A couple of minutes later, the Creative Director of Youth Programming, Miss O'Leary called and said that there are no refunds. My wife asked her again very nicely to double check, and that it was not what was advertised and it was not for the age group that I paid for. Later that evening, the owner David Stewar emailed my wife saying they are an accredited organization and refunds will not be given, he also accused my wife of being disrespectful. My wife was very respectful to everyone she talked to, did not raise her voice or said anything disrespectful. My wife did not even ask for the full refund, which we should totally get because it was not what was advertised. In addition, he said that the video was from a local community house even though it was on their channel and suggested by their staff. According to his email "That video was from a small Highland Park workshop held years ago at a local community house, an entirely different format, group size, and production model. Our current camp format is a full-scale 10-day performance experience." Honestly, I am not totally sure what the difference is.

There's been bad reviews in the past but he truly does not care about how he treats the people that spend money at his establishment. I wish I could leave a better review, but our experience at CG's was absolutely unacceptable. The manager/ owner Glen Martino completely mishandled a situation with my family while one of my family members was getting sick in the bathroom. Instead of showing concern for a guest's wellbeing, he assumed they were dining and dashing, yelling curse words and slurs in the process at my female family members. This lack of professionalism not only disrupted the show completely and then throwing the rest of us out even though they had our cards for the bill during this whole process. To make matters worse, the manager physically assaulted my brother during the commotion which stopped the show in front of the rest of the guests. This was supposed to be a fun family night out, but it turned into a nightmare because of the manager's (Glen Martino's) hot-headed and rude behavior. It's shocking that someone like this is allowed to run a business. I highly recommend avoiding CG's Comedy Club. Save your money and spend it somewhere that values and respects its guests.
