Ordered form them back in December last year - delivery ran very late, typical excuses - traffic, weather etc. Order from them 10 months later - same thing - driver was one hour late. Wrote an email with complain - no response. read more

Corky's catering was terrible for my son's wedding. When discussing the issues with the chef and the owner, their response time was a joke. After repeatedly saying they would call, there would be no phone call. They cross contaminated food and made it unsafe for several guests, including the groom! They do not take food allergies seriously and their staff is NOT knowledgeable. After making several guests sick, they did not seem to have much concern at all. Choose a different catering service if you want a company that delivers what they promise. Corky's was a huge hassle and didn't stand by their work! read more

Corkys is great. Diego was a great help in getting everything organized for our event -- tailgating at the Notre Dame game. We even got a W although I don't think Diego had anything to do with that. Food was delivered timely. Delicious. Had plenty for all our guests. Will be using Corkys again for our next event, and so should you. read more

The food itself was decent, although guest at our wedding complained the chicken was a little dry. My issue with them is the way that they handle business in general. They raised the price of our food less than two weeks before our wedding. When I addressed this issue with them, they said its in the contract that they can do "whatever we want". Having read the contract, it is not. The Finance guy is a clown. I would absolutely never recommend using them. To be fair, the servers were fantastic, which is partially why they get two stars instead of one. read more

An email that was clearly meant for an employee (Kristina Hickey) was mistakenly sent to me. They said they called me by phone and told this employee to make a note to reach out to me later. I replied back pointing out the misunderstanding and that I did not receive any phone call. This was nearly THREE weeks ago and I still have not received any kind of follow up until today - when Kristina emailed AND texted me a copy and paste message from Matt Green asking me to leave a review. It's like she skipped the entire process all the way to the end, and I don't know what she's expecting, but if I could give 0 stars, I would. Unprofessional is putting it lightly - I literally have not received any kind of service to even qualify for 1 star. Don't waste your time with this company, I've moved on. read more

Corky's catered our wedding this month and we are so lucky they did. For dinner we had a buffet of the 18 hour smoked brisket, linguini with broccoli and olive oil, and herb-roasted chicken. Nearly every guest came up to us begging to know who provided the food because it was so good! Two guests even told it was the best wedding food they've ever had! Corky's also provided dessert and bartending service as well. Kristina was so incredibly easy to work with and took care of every detail and request that we had. The team at our wedding was also so friendly and helpful! I couldn't recommend them more! read more

Dear Matthew, It has been two years and you have now decided to provide a VERY lengthy response to my review. Better late than never...? The good news is- I have now tried Corky's catering at both a wedding and fundraiser! The bad news is- I still give you one star. The catering services of yours that I have experienced were ok- there were even some decent highlights in the appetizers especially from what I recall. (I won't include food details here because it's sort of weird to talk about things that happened a long time ago through Yelp, in my humble opinion......) But the service experience I had with you stands out as a horrible one for these reasons: 1) published prices that were not honored in any way. I worked with 10+ catering companies to get quotes that were in line with two different potential venues and absolutely zero of them were as unprofessional and inconsistent as Corky's was. 2) incompetent sales people and a system that passed me from person to person with no explanation after phone calls and emails sat unanswered, so I had to start from scratch with each person, and 3) This ridiculous response that is both patronizing and catty. The correct response would have been to write back to with a sincere apology and a pledge to improve, not a DETAILED EXPLANATION OF EVERY REASON WHY YOU THINK I'M WRONG- TWO YEARS LATER. So, go forth and make it better Matthew. But don't try to pick a fight two years later that you already lost. read more

great value, very nice packaging and great fast. very happy with the appetizers ordered: hummus tray and bruschetta.

In our search for a wedding caterer, we were given a list by the venue of a few different places. After making appointments with several of these places, and having a food tasting, my parents decided to pick Corky's Catering. I was a little skeptical about this company, because I had my sights set on a company that worked with local food, which was important to me. But, my parents were paying for the food, so they had a big say in the matter. My first experience with the company was when they had an open house at our venue so we could come and taste the food. It was wonderful!! The appetizers were cooked just right, delicious, and beautiful. Then... we found out that all the food on display was from Cork's catering, the sister company, not CorkY's catering. I was really disappointed because I had no idea what the food was going to taste like at our wedding (my parents went to the original tasting without me)! We had a final meeting with Jennifer (very nice and easy to work with) about a week before the wedding to determine linen colors (I honestly didn't really care what color they were), table placements, head count, etc. I'm an easy going person but at the same time, I'm a little bit of a control-freak, so it was hard for me to let someone else handle everything! Fortunately, I was really impressed at how they managed to set everything up at the wedding! The centerpieces were just how I wanted them, the buffet table looked great, the staff was great, and the bartender was a hit (open bar)! Our menu was: butternut squash ravioli, Italian beef, lemon herb chicken, roasted red potatoes, roasted vegetables (or something like that), a garden salad, and some bread. Everyone raved about the butternut squash ravioli, veggies, and potatoes. People also said the chicken was excellent. The only complaint that we had about the food was the Italian beef was really hard to cut and not good at all. One other thing: if you're a catering company, PLEASE make sure the couple has cut the cake before you start serving it!! We came in after a mid-dinner photo shoot and saw the cake slices on the table, and people eating some of it before we even had a chance to do our cake-cutting!!! I was upset about this! Who serves the cake before the couple cuts it!? By the time we cut it, half the guests were already eating cake and it just felt rushed and forced. Other than that little snafu, we were overall pleased with this company! read more

Corky's made our wedding so special. We loved the layout / set up and everyone on staff was so wonderfully professional and on it. Kristina was our point of contact and she was super easy to work with, incredibly responsive, and just all over it even when we had last minute changes. We would recommend working with Corky's to everyone. read more

Horrible experience. Hired them for our company picnic-needed tables and chairs, and of course the food. THE CHAIRS AND TABLES NEVER SHOWED UP! We had to improvise with where people had to sit (on the ground, in the wet grass), and also where to put the food. Talked to the owners a few times, and they said they had been on their way with the tables and chairs for 2.5 hours, giving me some BS excuse that they had gotten pulled over on the highway-apologized 200 times, sent trays of appetizers that got there BEFORE the tables and chairs eventually did-3.5 hours later. I told them forget it, I'm not setting tables up in the middle of my party thats almost over. I would not recommend this company. Whether or not they hired a 3rd party vendor for tables and chairs, they could have had them out way sooner than 3.5 hours after my event started. The only thing they reimbursed me for was the tables and chairs we refused to use for an hour-they didn't offer to comp anything else for the trouble we had. read more

My husband and I hired Corky's Catering for our winter wedding at Garfield Park Conservatory after reading many positive reviews about the company. We couldn't have been happier with our decision! We dealt with Kristina Hickey who was extremely professional throughout the entire process, answered all of our questions, took notes of what was important to us, and removed any stress associated with planning a wedding. What was really a nice touch is that she had bottles of Korbel champagne, my mother-in-law's favorite, after we briefly mentioned that was her preferred brand. It was those thoughtful touches that made the day extra special! We did a food tasting ahead of time and were blown away by the options and how delicious the food was. My guests are still raving about the food and how Kristina and her team handled everything so nicely; and not just with the food, but the overall set up of the venue. Everyone on her team showed up on time, looked wonderful in their white and black attire and were courteous with guests throughout the evening. When you hire the right people for your wedding, the stress level completely disappears. Throughout the few months leading up to my wedding, my friends and family often commented on how calm I seemed, and that's because I hired the right team. Words can't really express how deeply grateful we are to Corky's for all the work they did to ensure our special day was phenomenal! read more

I hired Corky's to cater a day event for me. The week before the event, I received an email of the invoices to be sure all info was correct and to make any changes if needed. I noticed the delivery address was wrong so I corrected the address. Day 1 was perfect. The woman that delivered the food was wonderful. She even set everything up for us before she left which I was thrilled with. Day 2 not so much. I received a call from the delivery guy saying he was at the location. I informed him that I just arrived and that I'd meet him in front of the building. Five minutes pasted and I called him back asking where he was at. He told me his location and I gave him a references to look for so he'd find the entrance. I had to call him back again to see where he was at and I asked him what town he was in. Well he was in the wrong town. I gave him the address twice and told him south of Lake St. Not 10 seconds later, he says "so North of Lake St?" I called him 15 mins later and he's on the wrong side of the building. I finally get him there and he unloads the order. First words out of his mouth was "they have the wrong address". Not, I'm sorry or my apologies for the mix up. I signed the receipt and he was gone faster than he got there. I don't understand why the billing address was the shipping address when I made the change the week before. I'll think twice before using Corky's again. read more

Corky's catered our wedding (~160 guests) this past weekend, and the food was delicious! As someone who is typically not a fan of wedding food, I was really impressed with their dishes. Guests also raved about the food after the wedding. In addition to taste, their catering was very affordable. Corky's beat out the prices of every caterer we had previously looked at and worked very hard to stay within our budget. We did a double take on the final cost; it was a steal! Other places would have charged double for the amount of food (especially proteins) they cooked for our wedding. I would certainly use them again for a big event. read more

Just ok. We hired a bartender and server for a 50 person party. They were nice but one had to leave for 20 minutes to "feed the meter". The invoice they sent ahead of the party listed the order for 1 bartender and 1 server from 7-12, however they left at 11. Apparently there is an internal policy they do not share with their clients that states that the client pays for one half hour of commute time to and from the city. I wish that somewhere in their Estimated Summary of Costs or Catering Contract it was mentioned. It seems unrealistic for your client to be familiar with internal policy or expect something besides 'Blank employee from 7-12' when it seems pretty straightforward. If I have to pay for the commute from the suburbs and "feed the meter" time then I will just hire from inside the city next time. read more

Finding catering for my wedding has been a nightmare. I am so glad I came across Corky's! The prices are very reasonable and the food at our tasting was fantastic! I hope that everything is the same for the wedding! So far so good! read more

We had Corky's cater our heavy appetizer wedding reception last Saturday. They were AMAZING. Super flexible, great food, very courteous staff, good portion sizes, and very affordable!! We did a mixture of Corky's and Cork items (their 'upper scale cuisine' sister company) to keep it in our budget. We were so very pleased with the way it all turned out and received many compliments on the food, some even saying it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. I highly recommend you check them out. Also, we worked with Jennifer Anderson there- she is super helpful! Couldn't recommend them more. read more

Corky's will make you get porky! ha ah ah I'm not sure what they are putting in their food, but it deserves 5 stars for taste alone. *shudders* Kisses fingers just pure goodness! Corky's caters the kind of food that you can't eat everyday, but then again why would you want to eat a holiday spread everyday, right? It's good enough to make you wish you could. The turkey separates from the bone like it was cut with a high powered laser! The sides - mashed potatos, green beans, macoroni and cheese are fit for a king! The staff is courteous, responsive, and very organized. Corky's delivers to my job every holiday and when it's lunch time the employees say,"It's time to get Corky's!" ;) read more

I had Corky's cater for my wedding. It was a buffet style with beef, chicken, mostaccioli, corn & potato wedges. Everyone loved the food. I even got a compliment from someone who went to a wedding in the Willis Tower the weekend before, they said that our food was better than theirs. The only thing that bothered me, was that I had A LOT of food left over, almost half. I told the catering company that my count went down about 50 people, but they insisted that I kept the count at 150 people instead of 100. This caused me to have a ton of food left over & having to divide it up among families at the end of the wedding. Wish they would have calculated better, especially since my biggest cost was the food. read more

We had a large party at our home 10-03-15 for 80 guests. We were very happy with the food. All our guests enjoyed the food. Nice to enjoy the party and no worry about the food. Thanks do much. read more

12-17-18 I ordered catering for my family (20 people) for Christmas eve dinner using their Holiday Menu. Keep in mind you will be charged $10 fee because it's for a Holiday. I've placed my order via email and they contacted me within 48 hrs. Easy to place the order and overall simple process. I placed the order for drop-off on the 24th of December. Right now my rating is at the middle, 3 star at A-ok. Hopefully that will change for the better. I will update and keep you guys informed of my overall experience with pictures to follow involving this catering company. read more

This will be a short review because I didn't pay for it, but I got to enjoy it at a family reunion this past weekend. Pros: Italian Beef was amazing. Very tender, and very flavorful. Mostacolli was also very good. Cons: Fried Chicken was a little soggy in the skin department, but was still tasty. read more

Had a family reunion for 90 people over the Labor Day weekend and used Corky's for a full service BBQ. Served dogs, burgers, chicken and all the sides. Everything was delicious, service was great, timely, did their best to accommodate all our needs and changes right up to the day of the event. I would easily use them again for a party! After going to several tastings and talking to other caterers, we ended up choosing Corky's Catering. We were so lucky to work with Jennifer. She is very professional, honest, and understood exactly what we wanted. She respected our budget, and would present several different options for us to choose from. She also guided us through the entire wedding planning process, and I would go as far as to call her a wedding planner/organizer! Also, a few months before our wedding, we moved back up to Canada, so a lot of the planning was done long-distance! On the day of the wedding, the food was as delicious as we remembered from the tasting, and we had several friends comment about how much they loved their meals and the appetizers. Jennifer was absolutely amazing to work with!! Also, when we rehearsed the wedding ceremony, it was supposed to take place in the garden, but a few hours before the ceremony, it started raining, so Jennifer quickly reorganized everything so that the ceremony would take place indoors! It was really clear to see how she can work under pressure, and go with the flow! We would definitely recommend asking for Jennifer if you go through Corky's for your wedding! read more

I could not have been happier with their service. The person who coordinated everything for us, Sandra, was super responsive. I changed the linen colors three times, the last time two weeks before the wedding, and she was happy to do it. Every time I emailed or called her, I got a response within 24 hours, usually almost immediately. I asked for her input often and she made great suggestions that were better than what I would have come up with on my own. She really put me at ease about things and helped me stay on budget. On the day of the wedding, they showed up on time and everything ran flawlessly. My wedding venue, Promontory Point, is kind of a challenge to get to but they had already worked there so many times that it was no trouble for them. It was 98 degrees that day (even hotter in the kitchen) and really humid and they were so professional about it and made sure all of our guests had bottled water. I didn't have to worry about anything, they kept me on schedule by giving gentle reminders when it was time to do various things like cut the cake, without being pushy or rushed. The food was great, we got lots of compliments, and the Mexican Hot Chocolate Cake was to die for! Honestly, I can't think of one thing I wish they would have done differently, they are extremely professional and really nailed it. read more

BEWARE: BE WARNED: David Hicks and the fools he hired to run my party have zero professionalism, treat customers poorly, and are first class liars. Going to keep it brief, as I really don't want to waste any more breath on these morons: # 1 thing I'm fuming about: They threw away ALL of my leftovers then gave me a BS excuse that it is standard for them to throw away leftovers. Excuse me, what?? I spend hundreds of dollars on food and you are trying to convince me its standard practice to toss food? That should have been my choice. When the head gal saw how upset I was, she went into "cover her butt" mode and reported back to her boss that there were hardly any leftovers anyways. David Hicks chose to believe her, not me. Really? Am I really getting this angry over table scraps? I think not. Many things went wrong on their end during my party. One thing particularly upset me: They broke my brand new chocolate fountain. As they were running it, I saw it didn't look right. So instead of emptying it out to see the problem, they went ahead and melted two more bags ($25 each) of the special fountain chocolate, then added it to the machine. So now there are 4 bags of melted chocolate in a non working fountain that's meant to hold only two bags. It's special chocolate that doesn't need anything added but I know that dummy added oil or milk or something. That's probably why the machine broke. Of course when I brought that up no one fessed up. Liars! David sent me an email stating I would get reimbursed for certain things that went wrong. I'm still waiting for that refund today. But I'm no fool. That refund is never going to show up. RUN RUN RUN AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE BUSINESS!! read more

Amazing food and amazing staff! We had a reception party mid October 2019. Prior to the event, Corky's was great with helping us decide the menu and try the food we selected at a tasting session. We ended up having the herb roasted chicken, beef bourggrilled veggies, beef bourguignon, cheese mostaccioli, garden salad, roasted veggies for a buffet, and swedish meatballs, warm tomato soup shooters, and whipped goat cheese crostini as passed appetizers. Everyone complimented on the food- it was very delicious (especially the chicken). Corky's staff was very great, everyone was very friendly and kept an eye out to make sure things were running smoothly. Setup and breakdown was super fast. A special thank you to our crew chief and operations person (I apologize for forgetting your name)- you guys were great, and the operations person, thank you so much for running out to get some more tonic when the bar ran out! You all did a great job, and would definitely recommend you for catering another event! read more

WE NEVER EVEN RECEIVED OUR FOOD!!! After close to a dozen emails and countless confirmation with Jen, the day before our Saturday Wedding Shower, they called my work number and left a message (knowing that I do not work on weekends) to tell me that they no longer had my Address! Rather than call an alternate phone number, they simply cancelled the order with NO mutual communication and left me with 50 guests and NO FOOD. Thank goodness for Subway, Beggar's Pizza, and Buffalo Wild Wings. WHAT KIND OF COMPANY LOSES THE ADDRESS OF THEIR CUSTOMERS AND DOESNT BOTHER TO CALL THEM BACK?. WHAT KIND OF COMPANY DOESN'T ANSWER THEIR PHONES ON A SATURDAY WHEN THE HAVE ORDERS? To make matters even worse they have not returned my calls or even BOTHERED to call us back to apologize or offer to refund out money. We had to call our credit card company to fight the charges. I had Corky's cater my wedding this past Saturday. I was not told that the iced tea would NOT be pre-sweetened or that the bottled water would NOT already be cold. Beware! Such a headache to deal with and they do not value their customers. I contacted Corky's in January 2015 to start planning my wedding for 170 guests in October 2015. Originally I worked with David Hicks. He got fired (thank goodness!) and I received a call from Sam Kuhn 2 weeks after David was gone. I noticed David wasn't responding to my emails, but this was typical for David, so I was relieved when Sam called to say she was our new Event Coordinator. This was just 2 months before our wedding. While on the phone with Sam, we discussed a date for the final walk through at the venue and she agreed she would be there (It was supposed to be a Tuesday). The Friday before, I emailed Sam to confirm she would be at the walk through, no response. I emailed again on Monday, no response. I called her Tuesday morning and she said she would be there. Then she emailed me 20 minutes later saying, "I couldn't talk about it on the phone, but I just gave my resignation, and I will not be at your walk through this afternoon". This was quite upsetting since I made arrangements to get off work early, my husband got approval to miss a class that night, and my father in law got approval to get off work early to be there as well. Sam cancelled literally 5 hours before we were supposed to be there. I was then assigned to a 3rd Event Coordinator (1 month before the wedding), Tammy Goldstein, who blatantly told us that she doesn't like doing weddings and she normally does business events. Tammy was energetic, and had she been brought into planning our event sooner, I think she could have done a better job. She sent an updated contract 2 weeks before our wedding. There were a few minor edits that needed to be made, but nothing major. At this point, my bridezilla-ness started getting to me, and I asked for a manager's contact information. Tammy provided contact info for the CEO and Director of Operations. I sent both of them a lengthy email explaining ALL the hassles we have been through with Corky's, and simply asked for an acknowledgement that things have not been handled professionally and an apology for how the experience had been so far. I have yet to hear back from anyone from Corky's about my complaints. When Tammy sent me the "updated" contract 10 days before our wedding, she changed things that were correct on the first contract that I didn't ask her to change. The 2 contracts even had completely different formats; she did not just go back to the original contract and make the minor edits. After I emailed her with all the mistakes in the newest contract, she gave a BS excuse about it "being easier and less room for error by starting a brand new contract rather than editing the old one" (clearly not the case). She finally sent an accurate contract 8 DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING. The day before the wedding, I was trying to make sure I had all my ducks in a row, and I realized she never asked me for the count on chicken meals and vegetarian meals. She also had not sent me the floor plan layout like she had said she would do. I called her to discuss these things and she claimed she sent an email but since she never heard back from me, she just "estimated how many meals of each were needed". NOT OKAY! Once she sent me the floor plan, it was wrong. She emailed me during the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding asking how many people needed to sit at each table and how many tables needed vegetarian. I stayed up that night to get the information to her about midnight. Sure enough, I had guests from 4 different tables the next day come up to me to say they didn't have enough place settings/chairs at their table. I also had about 6 guests that I know of (3 at the Head Table) get chicken instead of vegetarian, although I'm sure there were others that I haven't heard from. I could go on and on about all the issues we had while planning the wedding with Corky's, but this post would be a book. I do have to give Tammy props for calling me the following Monday to ask how I thought everything went. I probably would not have called me if I was her. I was honest with her and said I was very disappointed in my experience and I find it extremely disrespectful that I still have not heard back from the CEO and Director of Operations. They clearly do not care about customer service/satisfaction. I will never use Corky's again. Save yourself a headache and don't use them either!! Tip for if you do use them (but really, please don't): -Do NOT use the bakery they recommend (Oak Mill Bakery). SOOO expensive and the cake is not that good. We ended up using Delicious Creations from Hickory Hills. Half the price, and the cake was so much better. read more
