    Is 5 stars really enough? Can I give Shelly 10 stars? From the start, Shelly made me feel so relieved for this event. I was throwing a Happy Hour at my Executives house for the entire leadership team, which grew into a much bigger event. From 30 to 65, Shelly put me at ease. I felt like I could absolutely trust her knowing what she's done in the past. I knew that she was meticulous when it came to the presentation, not just the taste. Her staff was incredible and everything was so pretty it was the hit of the party! I honestly can't thank her enough for the night and making me look like a superstar, I'm so glad I found her! Will always use her when I'm in Chicago! Working with her is so easy and she is truly the best!! Love her!

    Do not use this caterer! We had a terribly disappointing experience this past weekend and feel totally embarrassed by the quality and presentation we provided our guests. We were making a small cocktail party for our kids who had eloped in December after canceling their wedding. Just 20 people including family and friends but we wanted it to be beautifully catered. We selected about 10 different appetizers and a few small desserts to be circulated around the room on trays. So many things were wrong! The worst, though, is that we contacted the owner, Shelly, the morning after the event and she has not apologized or made any effort to make amends, she just said she'd look into our claims. This was two days ago. We ordered 5 dozen "premium" desserts for which we were charged $18.80/dozen. I was shocked to see the eclairs were a box of Delizza deli-case pastries, on sale for $5.99 for 30 pieces this week in the grocery store. We were charged $50 for these!!! The petite fours were also in a grocery store container. (picture attached) They forgot the peanut sauce for the chicken satay so 2 dozen of those went uneaten. The brisket sliders were large buns with a single slice of fatty meat, about 1"x1" square and a pickle chip. Most of those were uneaten, as well. The bruschetta was pre-oiled pieces of bread that were really greasy, accompanied by a bowl of bland chopped tomatoes with no herbs or seasoning, for guests to assemble themselves. I am sorry I didn't take a photo of the presentation: the servers apparently forgot display placards, so in front of each sauce was a randomly ripped piece of masking tape with the sauce name written in pen, taped onto the tablecloth. (Also, the servers arrived 15 minutes late so my husband had to make two trips to help them unload. One woman claimed it was because of traffic; the other said it was because they couldn't find the slider buns when they were packing up.) We had specifically requested one person in the kitchen and the other circulating through the room serving the food, with only the hummus platter and shrimp platter on the dining table. However, they placed everything on the dining table and only served one appetizer one time when my husband requested it. There was not a single decorative item in the food presentations. Just industrial service pieces filled with food like it was a corporate breakfast in a cheap hotel. We chose Pear Tree because they bought Hel's Kitchen, who had created magnificent events for us in the past. Hel's Kitchen was known for beautiful presentations: they used flowers and other greenery to decorate platters. I specifically asked Abbie, our salesperson, if this would be the case with Pear Tree and I was told it was the same. That was not true. A small but annoying point: our original numbers were for 25 people and we reduced it to 20 several days before the event. However, they delivered and charged us for rental of 25 each of 3 types of glassware, dishes and forks. Also, I had called Abbie a day or two before the event to ask how much room they'd need in our refrigerator. Her answer was, "None! Only for the leftovers you'll be enjoying." Of course when the women arrived, they needed our refrigerator so my husband had to run out before our guests arrived to buy ice for all of our wine, champagne and seltzers. (And we threw out all the inedible leftovers!) We feel embarrassed by the presentation and the quality of the food and regret that we trusted Pear Tree to make this celebration special for our kids before they move out of town in two weeks. We are particularly shocked that Shelly did not care at all when we told her our experience. Her only response was that their desserts are not store-bought and they use placards for signage, as if it couldn't possibly have happened as it did.

We met Jamie at our venue's vendor expo and were immediately impressed by their services, pricing, and vast food offerings. It was a no brainer to book with their group! We had our tasting a couple months before our wedding day; which is complimentary to the couple and a $50 charge for any additional guest to join. They have you select 8-10 appetizers, 2 salads, and 4 entrees to taste at their Naperville location. They also have displays of china, silverware, glasses and more to help couples select what aligns aesthetically for their special day. Jamie worked with us to make small modifications to their standard offerings to make the food exactly what we wanted! Our wedding day came and we were floored by the quality/presentation of food, level of detail in place settings, and service from all staff members. We had multiple guests say that this was some of the best wedding food they've had, steaks were not over cooked, and food tasted fresh. Jamie also let us add desserts a week out to reallocate money from a couple of guests who last minute were unable to attend. Their team was even nice enough to service items not purchased through their group: disposables for the late night snack, display and refilling of cupcakes, etc. Overall, their group went above and beyond for us under Jamie's leadership. Our tables looked great, our food was wonderful, and their team was fabulous. We truly appreciate all they've done for us and could not recommend them more!
