A large Casino run by the OLG…read more On the gambling side I was able to find a $10.00 Blackjack table where the dealers did not draw on soft 17. This represents a significant player advantage to other tables. But alas, it did not prove a winning combination for me. They have a wide variety of slots, but there was a penury of winners on the day I attended. The machines are tight. When you couple this with the fact that the OLG refuses to publicize what their slots machines pay out on the average, makes it a tough Casino. I wonder when the OLG will get on board and let the folks know what they are taking in. But all was not lost. I was comped a $ 40.00 meal, and Judy and I had a great dinner. In my case I had a full rack of ribs which was as good as any ribs I have had in Canada. That and that alone made this little excursion worthwhile. The ribs were served with a side of rice, and roasted parsnips and carrots, two of my favorite vegetables. I am still looking for a Vegas style Casino to be developed by OLG.

As someone who has grown up in Brantford I was more than a little excited when I turned 19 and was…read morefinally able to go to the Casino, because lets face it, other than the movie theatre there really isn't too much to do in this city. I found myself, however, disappointed, which should not have been surprising, The casino itself was very crowded and as someone who doesn't like to play the more expensive machines I found it difficult to find a slot machine that I felt was decently priced. Frequently you find yourself walking around in circles multiple times before you finally can find one machine and then when you do you tend to blow through $20 in minutes because the payout is very small. They are very close together, to the point where I have often found myself needing to apologize to the person next to me because I've managed to bump into them. As for the tables, there is always a waiting list and they have to call you over the loudspeaker when its your turn. Drink attendants are few and far between and the wait for food and drinks tends to get ridiculous. The food, when you finally get it, is okay but I have had better. The worst part of the casino for me has to be how dirty it is. When you sit down at a machine you don't expect it to be sticky with a spilled drink or left over cups sitting on them, unfortunately this is a regular occurrence. The bathrooms are spacious and even have a fireplace outside of the entrance however they are just as dirty and should be cleaned a lot more than they are, it would also be nice if there were soap in there once in awhile. All in all its not somewhere that I go often, once every few months at most and that is only because of the lack of things to do in the city.

This was my first time playing at a bingo hall, and I was so impressed by how friendly and approachable the staff and volunteers were. We explained that it was our first play, and they explained each game and went through step by step the different game options and rounds. Tuesday is toonie Tuesday, and a row is only $2. There is a minimum of a 2 row play, but it's pretty cheap entertainment! There are 6 or so games included in your card and a few extras you can purchase at $2 a pop. I'm not sure about pricing for other nights! Here are some important facts: - there is no alcohol - you can bring your own snacks! - the snacks available for purchase kind of suck - if it's your first time there, you get a free bingo dauber! - the bathrooms are kind of yuck - you will get cut eye from the regulars, but they are friendly!! I honestly am not sure the last time I had so much fun for so cheap. A highly recommended Tuesday (or other day) excursion!!!

Another negative is the attitude of the casino attendant that stopped us from walking through with my 20 yo daughter. She had here carry a yellow card and stay on the red carpet. ( I understand this being under 21) but just her attitude of incredulousness that we were trying to pull one over on us. She should be fired! Not a good look for Seneca Niagra.
