We took my wife's new SUV to VIP in Waterville for a plug as there was a small nail in the center…read moreof the tread they said that they could plug the tire we went back to get the car an hour or so later and drop my wife off and she came back to the house and showed me the receipt and they charged her $60 to put a plug in the center of the tire when I had already found the hole and marked it for them anywhere else a plug would cost between 8 and $15 they charged us for the plug and then another 40 something dollars for labor when it says a tire repair is a flat rate we will never return to VIP as they have done this before in the past !

The Waterville VIP garage crapped the bed so to speak, when I showed them the flat tire (a screw…read morepuncture). They immediately, in less than 5 seconds, assured me that the flat was not repairable, and the tire needed replacement. He said he could put some air in it, if it wasn't too bad. I declined, before he could give me the price for 4 new all season tires. I guess $600 would be their price About 5 minutes later, I went to my dealer brand's garage, and the garage specialist put on his coat, gloves, repaired the hole, in less than 8 minutes, and pulled out a small nail, also present, but had not made its way through, unlike the first, filled the tire. Because I was out of town, the repair was FREE he told me. I took the spare wheel off, but the repaired one, and I drove back home, 5 hours later. The brand is always better than independent garages.

My husband hit a deer with my 2000 Toyota Celica. My ins. co. had David Mathieu as a preferred Body…read moreShop so that told me they must do great work. The hood and windshield were the parts that needed to be replaced. I was told by the body shop that I would get a used hood but it would be painted. I was told the fenders would be painted to match the hood color. When I went to pick up the car neither fender was painted even though my bill showed that the work was done. I asked why they werent painted as I was told they would be and why the charges for painting them was on my bill. The cost was taken off the bill and I was told that it wasnt necessary to paint the fenders because the color matched the hoods color which was supposedly just painted. If the hood was just painted it didnt make sense that it would match 17 year old paint on the fenders. The hood was used and where there were dings you could see that touch up paint was used and the color did not match the hood color. The car is silver and there was a red spot on the hood. If the hood was freshly painted there shouldnt be a red dot or touch up paint used. It just proved to me that I was being billed for work not done. The car was taken back in to the shop for a long time to have the ding spots and the red spot buffed. I was not impressed by this because it did not change the fact that the hood didnt look freshly painted as I was billed for. I complained to my ins. co. who said they saw the before and after pictures sent to them from the body shop and were happy with the work. I guess the owner of the vehicle being unhappy with the work doesnt matter to either the body shop or the ins co. I informed my ins. co that I am never using that shop again and I will be looking for a new ins co.

I have 2 words for people considering Midas in Waterville - GO ELSEWHERE!…read moreUsed Midas over several years for tire changeovers and oil changes. Recently had my car in for an inspection - identified a dashboard light requiring fix - they couldn't. Went to another garage who fixed light and identified 2 other areas - Midas didn't identify - to receive inspection. Went to my local mechanic who looked over car and fixed 2 identified areas but could not find a tie rod issue. Returned to Midas who now identified a "tie rod" issue requiring fix before inspection. While I waited for Midas to finish inspecting and determining more work needed, 2 other customers also miraculously needed tie rods repaired! Back to my mechanic I went, who inspected the tie rod in question - he could find NO ISSUE with said tie rod! When confronting Midas about 2 different garages looking at tie rod and not finding an issue they refused to accept this information as true. Became very defensive and refused to have a discussion on the appearance of a "scam" for money occurring. I advise anyone contemplating using Midas in Waterville to find another garage. They are out to pressure you for unnecessary extra work and prey on you with the hopes you don't understand cars. Family, friends and co-workers have been receiving word of mouth advertising to AVOID Midas at all costs! Take heed all!
