These guys are the best in the business! So helpful and polite to work with. Once you are successful with your bid and the auction closes, you typically have three (3) business days to pick up your winnings. BUYERS BEWARE! Absolutely the worst! After the auction they never sent me an invoice although they said they did! Finally received an email from them on Monday saying I owed them another fee for not picking up the items. Told them the situation and they were very unreasonable. Drove down to Houston the very next day in heavy rain and miserable traffic along with my daughter who is handicapped. Got there finally around 3.30 and got lost in the rain and the traffic. They told me to bad however they finally came to their senses and waited for us to get there. The barstools were totally not like the picture depicted and were horrible however I went ahead and took them! They were ragged and torn up which if you look at the pictures it does not show them to be damaged. They still charged me $50 for 1 day of late fees which I went ahead and paid for... Now they will not let me bid on their auctions and acting as if though I screwed them. I have purchased items on the auctions here in Dallas and have not had a problem up here! Although the best thing to do is check on the items in person. I spoke with a worker and they have told me that they do doctor the pics ! Melva may be the worst owner of a company that depends on dealing with the public! Francone that is the owner here in Dallas is a much better person to deal with but BUYERS BEWARE! I have submitted a complaint with the BBB and sent a letter to the Attorney Generals Office so hopefully they will put some pressure on the Houston Location! BUYERS BEWARE! read more

BUYER BEWARE! If you are going to purchase anything from Main Auction Services make sure and preview the item in person before bidding. The photos and product descriptions are deceptive and misleading. I bid on a play kitchen for my daughter only to discover that it only had 1/2 of the pieces when I went to pick up. Of course, they accept payment before wheeling out the merchandise. Once I discovered that I had essentially received half the item I approached them to ask about the other box - the one I received was marked "box 1 of 2" - I was told that's all they had and that's all I was getting. No way was I getting my money back...treated very poorly by the employees who had essentially sold me a box of trash. To add insult to injury, when I returned home to access my account and review the listing I found that they had revoked my account so I was unable to access the description and pictures to verify how they had described the item. All in all, not a huge loss of money but very grateful I didn't buy anything more expensive from these people. Do not trust unless you can satisfy yourself with in person viewing. read more

Very shady transactions! We have read the terms and conditions prior to bid and after bidding and winning three items, we were ready to pick up one at a time and pay for the picked up item in full (As per their terms and conditions within their pick up time period), but we were told that we should have picked up and paid for all the items won at one time. I explained to the owner Melva that I could pick up one item and pay for this item in full in one trip and the remaining in the following trip (Before their cut off time) but she was not willing to listen and did not work for a resolution with us. We really wanted to have a very good experience with this seller and complete the transaction smothly, but unfortunately we will not work with this auctioneer again. read more

I have been a customer of theirs for many years but the last time I did business with this company and I mean last time, I acquired 4 DeWalt drills and not a single one of them worked and they told me I guess you should have plugged them in before bidding on them. Yet they say on their web site that they first check their auction items before offering them for bid. Guess they just check to see if it is or was what they say a "DeWalt" drill, with no concern as to whether it even works. I could have lived with one or two maybe even three of them not working, but all four was too much. I asked for my money back and they essentially told me to jump in the lake. I will likely never do business with them again and recommend all others run away, or at least personally observe any moving part items work as expected and closely inspect the rest in person before bidding online. read more

Here at Manna concept bakery in Tomball, we have greatly appreciated and utilized Texas Restaurant Equipment for our new construction buildout, where we found our lovely umbrellas, workhorse oven, tall refrigerators, under counter refrigerators and freezers (very important to our open kitchen concept, hiding them low to appeal to an old world look), stainless tables, office storage, small wares, etc etc. The employees were so kind, knowledgeable and helpful, and everything was a fraction of the cost of buying new or even used, and worked well into our concept. Bidding was fun and made sense. Without this store auction we could not have done our lovely place within our budget. Misleading pictures and horrible services. Bought 6 freezers and was hassled by the owner for taking so long to load and was told to go to Home Depot and hire illegals. He had the man on the fork lift move to other customers even thought they were the ones taking so long. It literally took me 30 secs to slide the equipment to the front of the truck and about 5 minutes between them leaving and coming back with the next piece. So I sat there for another half hour before they came back to me even though I was there before all these other people. They don't care about customer service and the equipment is junk. read more

Not one too tell others on how to operate ones business, however, I will break protocol. It is always (A MUST!!) good idea to view any and all items that one is paying his/her hard earned dollars on in person. Sometimes a mistake is made in how an item is described, or maybe we were in the heat of the moment (All Auctions) bidding too much and feeling a sort of buyers remorse( Never happens to me LOL). A good business model is one in which the customer is the one aspect that you cannot do without and must do the utmost to service, communicate the terms and provide an satisfactory experience for ( Not just the business). Unfortunately this is where Main Auction Services (Houston) falls short. It is never a good idea to argue with customers, nor insult them with what you think is good business etiquette that itself does not follow. We all try to make good decisions with the info at hand so here it is as I see it: MAIN AUCTION SERVICES Read the terms of sale(It is all about us), pay your bill ( They insist quickly), Wait to be loaded (slowly time is not important unless it is money we want), and if you are not satisfied with your purchase( tuff!! take your stuff and don't come back). This has to be one of if not the most dishonest auction houses in town and apparently they are related to the same place in Dallas(which has just as bad if not worse reviews) as they share the auctioneer license from the Dallas company. While it is true that you should inspect what you buy, sometimes is just isn't feasible and you rely on the auctioneer to do things in good faith. They intentionally use stock photos instead of the actual items and they hide or just wont take a picture if an item is broken or missing parts. They damn well know when they handle the item, take its picture and put it up for auction that the vast majority of items are broken or missing parts. However they will rarely if ever disclose this information. Non of the employees are allowed to make a decision on anything and they have to ask the owner which happens to be quite an unpleasant fellow. He is rude, abrasive and never willing to work with you if there are any issues. Its always the fault of the customer, even though they know they are selling crappy returns from Walmart. Caveat emptor applies here ! Avoid this business like the plague and save yourself some frustration. There is a reason these items were returned to Walmart. There are the occasional gems in the rough, but they are far and few between. read more

Great place to buy used restaurant equipment from UNLESS you have to deal with the owner. Most of the employees are helpful and friendly and its a shame the owner doesn't let them be the face of the company instead of being a Jerk to his customers. I recently won 3 pieces of equipment at an auction and went to pick them up. My trailer was broken so I went with my full sized truck. The owner came out and complained and made a big deal about how I needed to bring a trailer even though 2 pieces fit in the bed fine and the 3rd went inside the truck. He then complained about how long it was taking to load and I told him it took them longer to drive it out from the warehouse than it did to load it. Honestly it took about two minutes to load each piece onto my truck. I had been a regular customer for over a year buying from their Walmart Return Auction and buying AND selling in their restaurant auction. They made money both on my buying and selling items. He actually banned me from the auction for asking him not be a jerk. Too bad the owner is too stupid to realize that he was making money off of me both ways. When he eventually runs off all his customers I am sure he will be wondering why instead of fixing the problem. Which is HIM ! read more

Gave them a great deal, to find out they wouldn't make good on the money and now having to go thru legal battle for all the equipment they took off with. NO ISSUES FOR ME. I have used restaurant online auction services of many companies. I find that previewing threw pictures is never enough and that going to the site for a hands-on look is compulsory. Buying used is always going to be chancy, especially refrigeration, so be prepared for some disappointments. Service wise the people at both houses, Houston & Grand Prairie have always been pleasant to deal with. It's a big boy world out there and whiners can only blame themselves for most bad experiences. read more

I won an item in an auction and just like the last several transactions I called and asked the staff to take it off of the card on file and to please get me a shipping quote. After never receiving a paid invoice I called another time and the lady told me she would take care of it. A week later.... I call again and left a message. Today I call yet again and I they admit it was the staffs fault and it was never completed but since the item was consignment and not paid for, my act has been locked and I can no longer do business with them. Completely Terrible!! I purchased two Eastpoint Table Tennis/Ping Pong Tables from this place and when I opened the sealed boxes, they were broken beyond repair. When I called back they informed me that all items are as is even though they stated that the items were NEW while I was bidding on them. Buyer BEWARE!!! Deceptive practices in advertising the product. thought I was buying a rug that was cream and brown as the main picture showed and that was much larger considering the furniture arrangement in the main picture and it turned out it was a very small rug 2X4that was brown based and looked nothing like the one in the picture. The other pictures where it was rolled up in plastic and were taken on a blank red background giving no clue of size or color.The rug was rolled up in the other pics and you could not estimate dimensions or color since it was on a canvas of red material giving no dimensional aspect let alone color aspect which is important when purchasing things for your home. Obviously I was upset and I first told the guy who loaded it up on the dolley and he agreed by saying oh yes! it is not anything like the picture after pulling up the ad on his phone. He brought me to the front desk and I told the girl at the desk that I wanted my money back as any rational person could see that it was nothing like the rug I thought I was purchasing and would not match the décor in my home. I was stonewalled as she kept repeating that it says in the verbiage on their website that the actual item may defer from the product you are paying for. Well I would have even been ok if it was a 2X3 rug instead of an 8X10 rug as the main picture and other pictures imply if it had even fit my décor. The rug was cheap and ugly. Different color and size from the one in the pictures. They will post pictures of something very different than what you think you are bidding on and tell you that even for something that is worth $10 you should have come in an viewed it. Who has time to do this when you live many miles away? yet won't refund your money when it is just $12. The woman working the desk said she would get her manager and a very rude woman came up and said that she would not refund my money because I did not come and see the product and that is that. I said that I would no longer buy things from them and before I finished my sentence said she would delete my account.... I continued to tell her that I would not buy for my home as the product may look noting like what I thought I was purchasing but wanted to buy restaurant stuff as these are large purchases and would preview the item but she deleted me anyways...You think you are getting something similar in color, quality and style but they won't give you your hard earned money back and if you complain that the item is nothing like the item you purchased.... cut and dry, rude and short the so called classless so called manager is are and YOU get deleted... Is this someone you want to do business with??? not even close... and she was so incredibly rude telling me that I am the one who has the problem because I paid good money for something that doesn't even look like what I thought I was buying.. UNROLL THE DAMN THING NEXT TIME AND LEARN SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE... we are in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA yet you act like we are in a 3rd world country doing business!!
