I had a root canal done yesterday, my son came over to check on me, assist if needed, and just catch up. He ended up staying over and left his car parked in front of my house. The next morning , it was gone. Nothing left anywhere as far as a notification or anything. First thoughts obviously that it was stolen. Then he mentioned it was parked on the street. I thought, surely not, but yep, one phone call confirmed the sleazy tow truck company picked it up. I called and spoke to one of the heartless thieves. I got the ' too bad, so sad' but you better have $274.97 if you want it back. You must be the owner and your name must be on that credit card that they are somehow legally able to steal money from. These people are fleecing the elderly, and perhaps others. They did not honor their word, they did not honor the contract they signed, they did not answer demand(s) for payment, they did not answer the attorney's demand(s) or attempts at contact, they did not respond to the court/judge, they did not pay what they owe, and a default judgment was obtained. Sellers, buyers, those in general, you need to give serious consideration to the type of people you are dealing with and ask yourself if you want to be the next victim of their scam. Again, this is a true story based on personal experience. BEWARE! ********************************** 6/18/24 This is a legitimate review and factual account of the services contracted with The Auction Group aka Liquestate. Unfortunately, not a good experience. Please do read on. Through a referral (you know who you are), services were contracted February 2024 for the estate sale of an 81 yr old recent widow. These services transpired with separate sales continuing through April 6, 2024. Items included vehicles, guns, jewelry, tools, any and all household goods, etc., for a complete liquidation and relocation to live with relatives. The whole family participated in these services Felina Hill, Steven Hill, their children Josh Hill, Savannah Hill, and two other minor children along with a few workers to help out. Seemed very nice in the beginning. April 6, 2024 The Auction Group aka Liquestate provided two separate payments for the first two sales via check. These checks bounced immediately! For those who doubt this, copies have been included in this review. As of this writing, they have not made good on the money they owe, and they owe a considerable amount (the bounced checks are not even half of what they owe, total $29,000). Various reasons and excuses have been made along the way, but still they have not made this grieving widow whole. A civil lawsuit is underway for their breach of contract and deceptive business practices as well as criminal charges being filed for the felony fraud they committed intentionally writing hot checks of these amounts. They claim to be licensed auctioneers, and a complaint will be lodged with the appropriate licensing board. Sellers, do you really want to put yourselves through this at a time which you are likely most vulnerable in your life? Trust me, you do not. Buyers, you are essentially buying and are in possession of stolen property. You need to be aware of this and aware of the type of people you are buying from. There is no legitimate reason for not paying the seller what they are contractually owed. The sale has been made and the money is collected before the buyers pick up their items. They are keeping your money! In the least, they are grossly mismanaging your money robbing Peter to pay Paul so to speak, delaying any payments along the way, having to hold subsequent sales to pay for the earlier sales. It's quite the scam. I would strongly urge anyone considering doing business with or even associating with these people to stay clear. These people simply cannot be trusted!!! They sold my parents' items in multiple online auctions, then avoided our attempts to retrieve our money. They sold my parents' life possessions, then paid themselves and their children with the proceeds. AVOID THIS FAMILY AT ALL COSTS (Felina Gennusa Hill & Steven Hill). In September of this year, LiquEstate did an auction for us. Everything seemed to go well. We were very impressed with their staff. The owner Steven Hill, also seemed excellent. After the auction, we were supposed to get our money in about a month. It is now almost 3 months. I have called many times with no response, and told the owner we would have to turn them over to the police. After giving him many chances, we have no choice... and NO Money! They basically stole half of our worldly belongings from us. Tomorrow I will be turning this matter over to the police and my lawyer. I am very disappointed. read more

A salesperson came out and said she was excited about my busness and so I waited to set a date. I called multiple times and sent messages but they refused to answer until one day I caught her on the phone and she promised to call me right back within an hour. Bad company, bad processes, bad descriptions... nothing good to say at all. I bid in one of their online auctions and the items were woefully misrepresented. "Antique" apparently means "bought at Ross" and several vintage computers that were advertised as "working" had bad power supplies. Other items came with power bricks that were not 1) the correct power source for the items and 2) not even close replacements as the volts and amps were way off. Defects were not disclosed and pictures, imho, are taken to purposefully hide defects. Will not be buying from them again and, based on the reviews I have been reading, neither should you. read more

Unsure at this point but I will update. Had a medical emergency and emailed the day of pick up and asked them if they could bring back to their warehouse because it was a small item so I didn't think it would be an issue because I saw that they do that or mail the item but was told 2 days afterwards that you are suppose to let them know a day ahead of time which in this case I had no idea that I was even going to need them to do that. I've bought from them before and many other auction companies and if it's even getting close to the last hour of pick up they call or reach out to see if you are coming but I never heard anything but I had sent a email and thought it wouldn't be an issue but it looks like it possibly is. So don't know if they plan on crediting me back for something they gave away/sold or if they still have it? But I'll update. I've never had any issue before but I never had a emergency that couldn't be helped. Disappointed for sure. read more

I have been doing business with TAH for over four years.....they have always been willing to answer my questions. Many times I have come by myself to pick up and the workers would always help me load my win if I needed help. Always friendly and smiling. Had maybe one or two problems during these four years and they have always worked with me to correct. Bidding is easy and pick up is usually fast. I love bidding on this auction site! Although I'd been signed up with them for a long time, I really only started bidding in August of '19 when I needed to furnish my new ranch house in Plantersville. I kept my other 2 homes so I was starting from scratch. I won auctions for beds, couches, chairs, a dining room set, and many mirrors and works of art. After only 3 auctions my new house became a home. I have since been checking back regularly and constantly find new treasures. Many things I didn't even know I needed! It's too bad others had issues, but I can assure you all the staff are very professional while still being personable. The one complaint where the person was upset that the staff were using a table she had won to conduct business, I had the same scenario and just loaded my other items while they relocated their paperwork. I contacted the company concerning setting up an account that allowed me to pay cash, intstead of having my credit card automatically charged. They agreed. The following auction, my card was charged, resulting in overdraft fees. They refused to accept responsibility, and furthermore, demeaned my for not having enough money in my account. FRAUD! FRAUD! FRAUD! This is the first time I have ever bought anything from this company and it will be the last. I first contacted the company on Nov. 5th telling that I would need to have the bracelet I was bidding on at mailed. They had stated that they would mail for a small fee.I received an email telling me I had won the bracelet and they had charged my credit card on Nov 6th. No reply (NR). I emailed again at the close of the auction, called, called, called, etc. NR. Sent notification to hellothetexasauctionhouse and thetexasauctionhouse. No reply. Called all three numbers listed on their website and no response. Called again, and again, e-mailed,again, and again, NR. Nothing. At present, I have received no contact from this irreputable company and have contacted my credit card company to cancel the charge.
