I was first introduced to Maille mustard when I worked at Williams Sonoma. While I have always enjoyed mustard, it was mostly the American variety. After tasting Maille for the first time, I realized the error of my ways. The French know how to transform mustard into something ethereal. Adding some truffle, or walnut, or herbs serves to enhance the mustard and makes it a perfect accompaniment to just about anything. The Maille store in Paris has samples for every type of mustard they sell. It's almost overwhelming since there are dozens of different flavors. I especially enjoyed the truffle, vert, noisette, and herbs de Provence mustards. I would've spent hours here sampling mustards but my husband was impatient and dislikes mustard so he kept pushing me to make my purchases and move on. I was happy to also discover Maille sells truffle salt (6.5€/jar) at a steal! They also sell crocks for mustard which can be refilled. A good excuse to return to Paris! The SAs here are friendly and helpful. Interestingly the stand behind the counter and pretty much never leave that spot. Nonetheless I was able to find lots of goodies and plan on returning someday soon.

How can you not love a place that's been around for well over 100 years and sells mustard by draught?! Seriously, you can bring your old jar in and have it refilled for a price break. And they have so many creative flavors of mustard, of which you may sample any you like. We tried a bleu cheese one that definitely had a hint of horseradish as well. They have lovely vinegars also. If you are a connoisseur of mustard, you should not miss this stop!

All of my mustard fantasies have come true! Mustard on tap! Come into this beautiful shop to sample not just the regular dijon mustard, but about 35 specialty flavors. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. If I could have taken more home with me I would have. Buy 4 small jars and it comes in a beautiful presentation box.

I had heard about the mustard "on tap" at Maille and knew I would have to find time to stop by while I was in Paris and I'm glad I did. It's a small shop and practically every inch of it is covered in jars of different types of mustard, oils and vinegars. They have several sizes of each kind available as well as sampler packs which make a perfect gift for the food lover back home. At the front of the store are the three pumps where they dispense mustard into ceramic jars as well as a few other mustards that are out to sample. I picked up a jar of green peppercorn mustard, pistachio vinegar and got one of the small ceramic jars of white wine mustard which has a great spicy kick to it. The woman told me people come from all over the world and bring back their ceramic jars back to be refilled (at a discount). I hope to have the pleasure to do so someday.....next time I'll get the grainy mustard. It's amazing. One tip: make sure you're charged correctly. We had a little mix up which resulted in me paying almost 3x as much as I was supposed to. But mistakes happen and I should have paid closer attention....c'est la vie.

YES! Maille was a highlight of our trip to Paris - I mean, who taps a keg of mustard? Maille does! We brought home two crocks of mustard - the vin blanc and the black truffle. So worth the price and every time I use it, I get to think of Paris! YUM. Service was so friendly and amazingly helpful, with samples there too. Please stop in here - its the best mustard you will ever have!

Thankfully, Yelp quickly found me this grocery store. Monoprix is a pretty sweet one-stop-shop that includes a department store, pharmacy, and grocery store (and probably more--may report back). The clothes are cute, and you can even find some cozy natural fibers. I definitely recommend stopping there first if you forgot an essential garment (or the weather took an unexpected turn). This review is not about the clothes, though. The grocery store was pretty busy, as we arrived right when people are leaving work snd heading home. This location had tons of convenient items and snack items that were perfect for eating right away (OF COURSE I mean as soon as you get home or find a suitable park bench to pause at). They also had some more ingredients-type foods, along with an impressive selection of cheeses that rivals any from stateside. Good service and reasonable prices (it's Paris, so they may be higher than you are used to, but nothing to make you faint). Awesome selection.

Just so it's clear: this store closes at 19:45 on Sundays and 20:45 every other day, no 9 p.m., no guesswork. That's how it's always been, posted on google for anyone capable of reading. If your parents strolled in at the last minute and got shut down over a cucumber while staff were closing, that's not "rude" -- that's normal. People have homes to go to, they aren't paid to play customer-service therapist past closing time. Next time, verify actual hours instead of telling Yelp bedtime stories. Take care. P.S: The store is great.

While waiting for the store across the street to open up, we came into the cafe one to enjoy some breakfast. Best decision ever! There was a few people ahead of us and there was only one girl working, I was worried she might fall behind, but to my surprise she took care of every single one of us. The hubs got a plain croissant with a cappuccino and I had the pistachio one with a bit of a sweet filling and a mocha latte. Originally I wanted a Matcha one but it was not available, which is fine. Both of us really enjoyed our breakfast very much, due to the mini wait, we got a free macaroon and it was delicious as well. There is a small clean nice eating area for you to enjoy your snack. Its a good spot for a quick snack or bite, not meant for long term sitting around. The restroom is very spacious and clean as well. There is a reason why people enjoy coming to Pierre Herme, you are able to taste the quality of the food and you can tell that effort was put into making each and every one of these small yummy pieces. Overall I feel like Pierre Herme taste much better then Laduree, given that Laduree is already in the states, i would recommend checking Pierre Herme out. Price - reasonable Recommend: YES

Wish they had a shop at Charles DeGaulle airport like Laduree does so I can take some fresh ones home right away. Their flavors are imaginative and well paired and I do appreciate the frosting to shell ratio, tipped more heavily on the frosting side. They are all mostly super sweet so find a good cafe to park yourself at, order your favorite large coffee and bring out the box of Pierre Herme deliciousness. Don't miss trying the Ispshan and the chocolates, too.
