Visited on a Saturday about 4 pm so not crowded. The staff was polite and friendly. Ordered appetizers and entrees. They came out quickly and were tasty with good sauces. The calamari rings were fine but the babies were way over cooked. Entrees we're cashew chicken and sweet and sour shrimp. The veggies were very fresh, but a bit heavy on the carrots and green peppers. Sauces were fine, nothing special. I might go back and try some other items, but I am in no hurry. Odd flavor to Tom Yum soup, flavorless steamed dumplings and forced to waste food. Tried to order a lunch sized portion of Panang curry while paying for the dinner sized. I wasn't hungry enough yo eat it all and since I was traveling I didn't want to take the leftovers. Asked the server to bring me a small portion but feel free to charge the dinner price. Was told that "we won't do that. The chefs will not accommodate that." I asked why, are all the lunch sized bowls still dirty, can you ask for me? He replied "I've worked here a long time and they never make any accommodations so I won't ask." At the the curry and brown rice weren't bad. Ate here when passing through about 2 1/2 years ago and had a much better dinning experience. Probably won't be back. read more

I'm flabbergasted how this place has so many good reviews. Definitely seems like a local crowd with mostly families at dinner time. Must be that most people in this area haven't actually had good Thai food? I sat at the bar, which apparently isn't something people do here. I was greeted with confused looks and asked if I needed a menu. As several bugs crawled across the bar in front of me, the server was nice enough to offer a sample of wine to make sure it was ok with me. There was only one other option. (And I did not see Mai Thais on the menu, despite the restaurant's name) The service was subpar; nice enough people, but they cared more to talk to each other than the guests. My wine glass sat empty throughout my entire meal. I got spring rolls, which were obviously frozen. They had no flavor at all and I couldn't tell you what was actually in them. I also got the massaman curry - my usual go-to dish. That was the worst version of massaman curry I've ever tried. It was basically coconut milk soup with undercooked vegetables. The server provided some chili flakes to spice it up and that was the whole flavor. I was really excited to try this place, but now I wish I hadn't. Such a disappointment. read more

I came here for dinner, starting at around 5:30 with two friends at the end of our day trip to the Cincinnati area. There were already loads of people here and they kept coming throughout the entire time we were there. The server was very nice, prompt and helpful. The interior was well decorated and had a good atmosphere. I've had Thai multiple times and got my go to dish, Pad See Ew. I got it here with chicken and a level 2 spice. As a point of reference, I can take some types of spice, including some though not all Korean spice, but Thai spice has always made me nervous. The dish ended up having a nice kick that wasn't overwhelming. This was probably helped by the fact that pad see ew has a sweet sauce to start with. If you've never had this dish, I highly recommend it but remember, it has a sweeter taste to it then you might expect! One of my friends was in the mood for sushi so she got the Alaska Roll and the American Dream Roll and loved bot. My other friend got the Panang Curry with a level one spice. She normally is really bad with spicy food but figured level one would be fine. It was not fine. I found it surprisingly spicy when I tried it though the rice obviously helped. If you like curry but can't handle spice...maybe ask for no spice...or level 0. The curry itself was very good but the spice threw her off. The pad see ew was $10.50 but I paid in cash which apparently got me a 10% discount. The curry was $10.95 and the rolls were $6.50 and $12.00. Overall, pretty average prices, at least in my experience with Thai restaurants. I would also add that the portion sizes of the noodles and the curry were pretty large making the price even better. I loved this place and the food hit the spot. There's probably something for everyone on their menu, especially with the various options of sushi so if you're in the area then stop by! read more

I've driven by this restaurant so many times and I am glad I finally stopped. It is definitely unassuming from the outside, but I had a great lunch at Mai Thai. Their lunch specials come Bento box style with several items and a soup to start your meal. I had the Thai Spring Roll-Maki and added a ginger salad. The entire meal was around $15 and I took some sushi home because it was too much food. Everything seemed fresh and tasted delicious. My boyfriend & I finally tried this place after passing by it numerous times & we are so happy we did! We were blown away by their food! Everything we had was of great quality & so very tasty! We ordered the mango curry (chicken) and pad thai (chicken)- both equally delicious. We also treated ourselves to salmon & white tuna nigiri. The rice was perfect & the quality was some of the best we've had in NKY! It was fresh and full of flavor. HIGHLY recommend! The restaurant itself is very cute & clean! Reading the reviews for Mai Thai you'll notice a theme, don't judge a book by it's cover... I totally agree! The outside of this place from US42 looks kind of sketchy but as soon as you park you notice the landscaping and fountain, it's actually really cute. When you walk in you see that Mai Thai is a very small place, consisting of one room full of tables and a bar on the back wall. Our waitress was so sweet and handled my 3 year old daughter questions very well. I was nervous about the kids doing well here but I was pleasantly surprised. The service was fast and the waitress had our drinks to us quickly. I ordered Philadelphia rolls which were delicious and miso soup that my daughter even loved. I am very happy with my spontaneous choice of Mai Thai, I highly recommend it! read more

I'm really happy with the food I got to-go from here tonight! I ordered in the restaurant itself, but you can order over the phone or online as well, which is great. I wanted the dynamite roll and the spicy salmon roll, but they told me that they aren't doing raw fish right now due to the craziness happening, so instead of the salmon, I did the spicy shrimp roll! Both were really good, but I definitely prefer the shrimp roll over the dynamite roll because i think the texture was better! I also ordered a bubble tea because I was curious about how they do it here, and it was pretty good as well! It is more of an original sweeter tea flavor, not a fruity flavor bubble tea. Good Thai food in Florence.  Just visiting in the area, saw the high marks on Yelp.  The Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were both flavorful and portioned generously.  We also had the Kai Kra Pao (ground chicken with basil, green beans, carrots) and Thai Fried Rice.  All of the dishes were at least a 4 out of 5. The pad see ew was my favorite. The Pad Thai is a bit sweet for my taste.  I need to remember to ask Thai restaurants not to add sugar to my Pad Thai in the future.   The rest of the menu looked good too.  We didn't try the sushi, but I would have if I were in the mood. read more
