Mahina is one of my go-to spots on the North Shore. It's definitely on the pricier side, but the quality and the way everything is curated makes it worth it. I shop there regularly, and even if I don't need anything, I always pop in when I'm in the area because there's usually something new. The girls there are always so friendly -- and it's consistent. Every single time. The store is impeccably clean, easy to shop, and their clothing fits my vibe 100%. I always leave feeling good about what I bought (or at least inspired). Such a great local shop in the Matsumoto's shopping center. If you appreciate well-made pieces, good energy, and supporting North Shore businesses, Mahina is a must. They do have other stores across the island but not only is this one close to me on the North Shore, it's a vibe also sets it apart. Oh! They offer a military discount and one for kama'aina which I really appreciate! (can use one or the other, not both!) While you're there, check out their sister shop, Roger, next to Uncle Bo's. I totally recommend shopping at Mahina in Haleiwa. I bought the 100% cotton Blue Leaf Tiered Skirt for my teenage granddaughter and myself. the next day, i decided to also buy one for my two daughters. I called the store and talked to Quincy and she provided the most amazing service. The store didnt have the sizes i needed but offered to call other stores for me. Quincy located two skirts in Waikiki, texted me a picture to confirm it was the right skirt, and had them placed on hold for me until closing time the next day. I went shopping with my mother-in-law and the cashier didn't want to give us a kamaaina discount because I didn't have my Hawaii ID on me. My mother-in-law (local Asian) showed her Hawaii driver's license and the cashier didn't accept it because they said the person paying needs to show their proof of Hawaii residence. Such a cute store with so many cute things!! They didn't have many large sizes available and definitely no XL sizes. Luckily, I was able to find a couple of pieces that sit me and maybe ended up being one of my favorite dresses!! I think what really put the cherry on top for my rating of 5 stars would be the service. The girls there were really on top of helping the customers by taking the clothes and starting a room while we shopped around. I use to come in the store and loved it. But I do have to agree with a customer service part. It's almost nonexistent. I bought a dress that cost $60. Took it home wore it twice and the whole back of the dress shredded. So cheaply made. I brought it back with my receipt since I had only worn it twice and the manager was not even going to give me my money back or exchange it at first. I was very insistent and she finally gave me another dress. I just wore it today for the third time And the same thing happened again. The whole back seam completely came undone so I'm going to attempt to take it back again. I have a feeling they're not going to give me anything since I've had it for more than two weeks this time even though I didn't wear it but two times. The music in the store is so relaxing that makes you just enjoy your shopping experience. Prices are not overpriced tourist prices despite being in north shore. Walked in and the two young ladies didn't acknowledged me on 4/18/22 around 2:30pm. They passed by me a couple of times and still didn't care enough if I needed assistant. Then a Caucasian couple walked in and was greeted happily and loudly within seconds and walked right out because they probably mistaken the store for something else. Again, both young ladies happily and loudly thanked them for stopping by. I was admiring a dress and wanted to get it, but the vibe I got there was off. Not sure if being Asian played a part. Still didn't acknowledged me as I was making my way out. NOTHING. They did me a solid favor because I rather support small businesses with the right attitude towards ALL their customers. Location: The boutique is located in a Haleiwa Store Lots near Island Vintage. There is parking but it's always busy so you might have to be patient when getting a parking spot. Merchandise: They have a nice selection of casual and trendy clothing, sandals and bags. They have a wide variety of jewelry from rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces. I love the pineapples that I saw near the cashier desk. They also had a few trendy sunglasses on the cashier desk. Price: The items were reasonably priced! I bought a cute tank top for $20 and sunglasses for $15. I noticed some of the earrings and necklaces was priced around $14. Customer Service: The sales associate was friendly as she rang me up. Great selection and good prices! Mahina is probably my favorite clothing store on the islands. I only wish they had an online store! They always have such a cute selection of shoes, dresses, and accessories. All jewelry is between $10-$18, clothes are between $14-$42, and clearance items are also available in limited sizes. I don't know what it is about this boutique and it's other locations (Kailua and Ko'Olina). You've got winning combinations of products AND location yet something is amiss. It's called CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Yes. That's what it is. It is LACKING and falls short every single time I've frequented any of their boutiques. Clothing and accessories are pretty, trendy with a few staple pieces that withstand fashion trends. The location of this boutique is at the Haleiwa Store Lots (the old Matsumoto Shaved Ice place) and there is a multitude of tourists and locals alike who frequent that area. I happen to live here and I don't know what it is - I NEVER GET GREETED OR HELPED. Ever. I've been mistaken for a tourist before so if you're thinking that maybe it's because I'm "local" I never get it (I'm a "local" transplant). Money doesn't discriminate IMHO. Anyhow, I do like their inventory and despite spending almost an hour in that boutique with my two girls...NOT one salesperson bothered to help us with anything. Oddly, even at the register the older woman who rung us up didn't speak one word OR even make eye contact or crack a smile!! Unbelievable!! Perhaps they think their products will speak for themselves and will sell themselves without help or customer service. Yes. That's what it is. Something like a self serve boutique! Because that's what our experience was like and has ALWAYS been like shopping at any Mahina boutique. Why do we come back? Well because when you have two young adult daughters who love retail therapy you appease them by going to these places despite your better YELP knowledge. Plus their clothes are pretty. If I could give this store a zero I would. First of all this store is next to the famous shave ice Matsumoto, if not for this shave ice place your store would not have any customers. Customer service is the worst, I came in with shave ice in my hand and I wasn't even eating. I was approached without any recognition of hi and hello as straight up saying shave ice is not allowed. Please your store would not have customers if not for Matsumoto's. First of all you are overpriced and the quality of your clothes are not worth the price. This is a sweet beach boutique carrying affordable clothing & accessories that look more expensive than they are- I picked up a cute top and two necklaces here ($14 each). I wore one of the necklaces (a longer style with a feather and crystal pendant) to dinner that night and my friend asked me where I had gotten it, when I told her and the great price, she said it easily looked like it was worth around $200. I love delicate jewelry, and they had a sweet rose gold necklace that had a tiny "wish" bar that I had to buy as well. This is a great spot to find inexpensive casual and date-appropriate outfits for Hawaii, and it's in a shopping area near other small shops, Island Vintage Coffee, snocones, etc.- if you are in Haleiwa stop by. Located in Haleiwa, this cute little boutique has all kinds of clothing, shoes and accessories. My friend and i were in the area and decided to make the trip over. What really caught our eye was the 60% off sale rack. I ended up finding a jumpsuit. Asked one of the workers if she could help me find a belt. I also found a bralette, so I grabbed that to try on as well. Loved the fit and the colors (striped blue/white/orange). I also loved that when I went to check out, the girl working the register automatically gave me a Kamaāina discount (probably because i was wearing a UH t-shirt haha!). But the workers were accommodating, store was clean, and I found a cute outfit. I purchased the jumpsuit, bralette and belt all for $44. Deals! I love Mahina! I'm an avid shopper there. Went in on 06/08/2019 and was greeted upon entrance. It was really busy Saturday and was helped out by two young employees. I wish I knew the employees names. They were working hard and helped out as much as they could. After, I finished shopping around I was helped out by another lady who was a little older. I'm assuming their boss. She had a really bad attitude and seemed like she did not want to be there. Her behavior and attitude was uneeded. Very snarky towards me. I can only imagine how she is towards her coworkers if she couldn't even handle ringing me up at the register. One star because her attitude was atrocious. Besides that. Great selection of clothes! Love this boutique! I always find something I will love here. It is a must stop place for me whenever I make it up to Haleiwa. I need to give them the biggest shout-out....recently I have been to both Maui & Kauai and of course was so excited to see my favorite shop when I got there. Went into both locations expecting the same outgoing and friendly staff that I am used to in Haleiwa but to my surprise, they were not friendly! In Maui there were two girls working and I never even got a hello or anything. When I made my purchase, was never asked if I lived on island or had shopped the store before. Just rang me up and then walked away. DISAPPOINTED! In Kauai, I got an aloha but that was about all. They were very busy in their own conversation to see if I or anyone needed help. I did not make a purchase at that location and they did say good-bye when I left. Today, I drove up to the North Shore and of course had to stop in. I was immediately greeted by Chelsea with a great big hello! I had one item in my hand and she was ready to get a fitting room started for me. As I collected items she was very quick to add them to my pile. There were other customers in the store as well and both her and the other girl working were very quick to greet all that came in and it came off as very genuine. One of the things that should be noted was that they were having a conversation between themselves but they did not let that become more important than the customers in the store. Again, one of the many reasons I love this particular location. Many mahalo's to the girls at the Haleiwa location for having your customer service skills down. I had the pleasure of vacationing on the North Shore of Hawaii for an entire month. While there I was able to do some shopping at Mahina's. I loved the experiences I had here. The employees greeted me each and every time I went with a smile and pleasantries. I always felt welcome! I am a woman who does not like to shop but the staff made my time in the store a wonderful experience. I found I actually LIKED shopping! The turnover in merchandise is enticing; there is always something new to choose from....at affordable prices! The staff is always available to help with sizing and matching. They also can be encouraging with suggesting new things to try on. That, in itself is a big plus for me! Super cute boutique with affordable, yet high quality, trendy clothes for women of all ages and sizes. There's always awesome steals on the clearance rack in front of the main door, but buyer beware and carefully read the tags as their often damaged goods and/or irregular sizes. I get they're trying to recoup their costs, but c'mon...how are you going to sell pants with broken zippers or pants with freakishly small leg holes. Yep...those items have been there for months! Lol They also sell cute accessories and jewelry. While such items pair well with the clothes, they are overpriced. Clothes and accessories are limited and sadly the staff never know when or if they're going to receive more. They can add you to their handwritten call log and claim to call you if the item is restocked but I have my suspicions that this ever happens. I agree with many of the Yelpers that staff aren't very friendly or helpful....but I guess it's better than overly pushy sales staff. read more

This is a fantastic beachy, modern, and stylish store which is located in the new Haleiwa outdoor mall. I was drawn to it because it looked like a boutique and I love shops that's nicely merchandised. It's very open and airy and free of clutter. Not to mention there's a lot of cute gifts and mostly affordable. I picked up two costume jewelry which didn't break the bank and I was given a cute recycled bag. Love this shop! First of all, the row of new shops are built to fit into the old Haleiwa town atmosphere. There's lots of parking in the back. The prices are very reasonable here, they have cute clothes and I love the jewelry! They gave me a Kamaaina discount, don't know if that's just during their opening month?
