Garlic chicken and madras chicken along with jeera and plain naan
    Kirtishri M.

My wife and I try indian restaurants on every trip. I would say that this restaurant definitely lived up to the hype from previous reviews. We got the chicken madras and the garlic chicken. We asked the madras chicken to be made extra spicy and it was! The garlic chicken was a nice fusion-style dish. Very unique. The jeera naan was also delicious. Their house wine was actually really good and inexpensive. Would definitely consider going back if we are in Rome again.

The outside is very dull but when you enter the decor and space is grand. The tables are set with good looking plates and flatware. The service was right on offering a glass of complimentary Prosecco ! Good variety of my favorite entree and starter. We ordered Tika chicken , three different lamb dishes of a variety of spiciness. The cauliflower and potato side was just why I wanted and naan was great. Very clean restaurant and bathrooms.

Are you: A lover of the authentic, Indian cuisine and you know your pakoras from your samosas, your dhals from your saag paneers? You'll give it 3 stars. Are you a lover of the authentic, Indian cuisine and you just love to eat it; some curries, some spices - you're good to go? You'l give it 4 stars, perhaps even 5 stars on a rainy day. This restaurant isn't at all bad! Seriously, I'm a sucker for my saag paneer, fo sho and I order it at eeeeevery Indian restaurant I go to. And theirs was good. It was "lekker" as we say in Dutch. The naan was also gooood, dip it in garlic and I'm your best friend! I was not a fan of the samosas, but overall - I liked the quality of the food and excellent service, e.g. that the waiter beforehand asks how spicy you'd like to eat, if at all... Those little things, make me happy!

Visiting Rome, my wife and I were craving indian food. After getting few sugg6from locals, we ended up at Maharajah restaurant. Honestly, we had very low expectations going to the resta6. Howey, from the time we entered the restaurant, we felt welcomed. The staff was very nice and at first offered a glass of champagne. We ordered a paneer dish, onion paratha and veg. Biryani. The food was absolutely amazing and super tasty. We finished everything. Absolutely amazing place for great food and ambiance.

After eating Italian food for about a week we decided we needed something else. So we found this Indian Resturant only a few blocks away from our hotel. We went with 1 of there set menus plus an extra ghost lamb. I think this is the best Indian food I've ever had period. I've had a lot of Indian food around the world, but this place is the bomb!

This review is about a week too late. After 8 days and nights of pasta and pizza this place nailed it. We needed some Indian food badly. The food was fantastic and the service was great. The CTM was awesome. The service was great too. They knew we were tourists, but treated us genuinely as we if we might be back tmrw. Go there.

This Indian restaurant had come as a recommendation from a friend who had eaten here before apparently. He said it was just like the real deal back in the UK. So we took the family there for dinner... what a huge disappointment. The interior is alright and looks to be clean and the staff were good. However, the food was an absolute let down. I ordered a peshwari naan, rice and chicken madras. It was the flattest naan I've ever seen in my life! There is no way this had been done in a proper clay oven. It was not stuffed with the filling like they normally are. It had the "filling" sprinkled on top. It was half the size of every naan bread I've ever ordered and hard to chew. The chicken in the madras was cooked well, however, it just tasted like curry powder. There was no real flavour and lacked depth. The rest of the family weren't overly excited by their food either. Biggest disappointment of eating a meal in Rome ever. We most certainly won't be going back there and in future I won't be listening to said friend for restaurant recommendations!

Got Murg Peshwari & Naan . It was pretty good ! Finally a decent Indian restaurant in Rome !!!

The little silver dish is my chicken curry. The cumin rice behind.

Slow, disinterested service. $4 euro for rice. Decent food. Wish I had gone elsewhere.

Needed more achar, but it was removed once the appys were done. We ate most of the achar straight out of the dish for want of more spice and flavour. The food here is very middle of the road but will satisfy one's curry cravings. The channa with paneer (ceci curry) was good, the baingan bharta was missing depth and that lovely roasted flavour. The masala lassi was very plain, no real masala. A bit overpriced for what you get in my opinion. Not sure I'd come back, would probably try something else, though this spot looked to be the cleanest of those along this particular street. It was also the only one without leering be-capped creeps hanging outside the front door. Yeesh

In fact I enjoyed it so much, could happily marry the cook and it was a highlight of our trip to Rome, that we lucked out and found this restaurant. Apart from the food, both Sukhwinder and Asad were fabulous servers. I want to especially give a shout out to Asad, as he was uber prompt and attentive in anticipating our eating needs. Food wise, I can honestly recommend everything! We tried four different main dishes and each of them had their own distinctive flavor: 1) Mutton curry: the taste of the curry was so good, perfectly spiced and the mutton pieces were rich and flavourdul, making every bite a sheer delight. 2) Palak Paneer: luscious, creamy and earthy. Wonderful taste of the spinach and just the right amount of paneer. Very well balanced flavours 3) Dal Makhani: blissfully melt-in-your-mouth flavors, and tasted of proper ghee! the lentils were perfectly cooked and I couldn't stop going back for another bite, and then another bite, and then just one more bite.. 4) Gobi Aloo: the potato in this dish (le sigh!) so creamy and tart and the cauliflower pieces were just in that perfect state of al dente! Both the Tandoori Roti and the Vegetable biryani was amazing as was the Lassi and the Desserts: 1) Pistachio Kulfi: OMG. Melt in the mouth and creamy - absolutely gives the local gelato a run for its money. 2) Gulab Jamun: warm and perfectly cooked fought that was in just the right amount of sugar syrup! I really couldn't decide which Main course dish or dessert was my fave, it was all just do super delicious! So if you too find yourself in the vicinity of the Colosseum and want a change instead of pasta, heartily recommend coming here to get some Indian food instead!!! Yelp 275/ 2018
