Eco friendly alternatives to plastic wrap and paper towels
Michelle L.

Magpie is primarily a gifts and stationary store. I really enjoy browsing note books, tiny post its, and other paper products which they had plenty of. Some of the items were from Japan so you can find some pretty unique pieces. It seemed like they also have a focus on eco-conscious items like beeswax based food storage wrap and Swedish dish cloths that are meant to act like a sponge. There was a small sale section in the back of odds and ends as well.

Such a cute housewares and stationary store. Everything is so cute and unique. Includes lots of local and international products. I love the jewelry, stationary, and kids items.

The buys: an adorable, quirky little teapot ring & a rubber-and-leather cardcase. Both items were decently priced at $12.

I love being able to still visit a small, independent gift shop with genuinely good items - a lot of them are fair trade and organic.

Reviewed the return policy ahead of time, because you know, it's 2026 and customer service is paramount when ordering expensive things online. However the item delivered was not of the "custom" quality described on the website. As a matter of fact, the item pattern matched the images on the website to a T... so clearly not custom. Not only was it not custom, the design printout was of low quality and looked cheap. When an item is not custom and of low quality, it doesn't warrant a custom price tag. I engaged owner for a return within 10 days of delivery, which is outlined as their return policy, and they gave me a weak excuse "we are a small shop" as if to imply that I was rude to ask for a return and hurt a small business. After two email exchange, the owner stopped responding to my emails. Suffice to say, don't buy their beautiful looking lazy susans. They are overpriced, not custom, and are low quality. Not worth a $325 price tag. Avoid this shop and owner. They don't deserve your business.

It has a fun and lively vibe with a mix of vintage items, handmade crafts, jewelry, artwork, clothing, collectibles, and food stands all in one place. What we liked most was how easy it was to spend a few hours just walking around and exploring different local vendors and small businesses. The market feels very New York, with lots of unique finds and creative products you do not usually see in regular stores.

It made my visit to the Bazaar all the more pleasant. I've been coming to Grand Bazaar for more years than I care to remember, having taken a break for ten -- okay twenty -- years. Can't put my finger on why, perhaps I'm not as interested as I used to be. While the market is vibrant and busy, it's not as it was. Perhaps not as much diversity in wares. (I used to get a lot of pottery, art and vintage jewelry.) Back in the day, my friends and I would go to the East Village and buy funky old fur jackets for a song. I kind of had that in the back of my mind coming here. (There are many vintage coat vendors.) But prices have risen considerably. (What hasn't?!) The market is open Sundays, year 'round. Despite buying nothing, I know I'll be back. (Maybe coats get cheaper when it's warmer.) Plus, I like strolling around on the upper westside, which has a different flavor than the eastside, where I live.

My experience was super fantastic at the Upper Westside location near the Lincoln Center. From the moment I walked in, the store, the atmosphere is always warm, inviting, and beautifully decorated, love the way each area is styled, it's honestly inspiring just to browse. The staff is always helpful, attentive, and available to help you transform your space or home into the vision you dream. I think the prices are great for the value. The selection caters to everything from furniture to home décor. The store itself is spotless and organized, which makes it even more enjoyable to explore. If you are looking to elevate your home with stylish, well-crafted pieces and exceptional customer service, this location is a must-visit. Personally prefer this store or the White Plains location over any other location in Manhattan.
