The owner Dennis is extremely nasty. Do yourself a favor and avoid this jerk. There are plenty of other competent mechanics in this region.
I took my car in for a routine inspection. My car initially failed inspection due to a re-set code. When I asked Dennis a few simple questions about it, he pointed at the paper he had handed me and angrily responded, "CAN'T YOU READ???"
I felt so disturbed that he would treat a customer like this. I had taken my car to his shop many months prior to this incident, to have a part replaced, so he knew me, and has known my husband for many years as well.
Since my car failed inspection, I asked him if I still needed to pay the fee. After I asked this, he got even angrier and said, "LOOK AT THE SHEET OF PAPER," and pointed to the $37.00 charge. I had absolutely no problem paying him, I only wanted verify the charge. By this point I felt so disgusted and upset by how he was treating me, so I quietly said, "Don't patronize me" and proceeded to hand him the money I owed.
He said, "I'm done with you; I don't want your money." He WAS, however, willing to take that money from my husband, who was standing next to me.
After this occurred, I took my car over to the dealership, and was treated with the utmost kindness and respect. When my car initially failed the subsequent inspection, again, they remediated the issues, and only charged me a *single* inspection fee, along with just a few extra dollars for a trunk bulb that needed to be replaced. I should have just taken my car there in the first place, which would've saved me from going through that demeaning experience.
I have since asked friends to recommend good and fair mechanics near where I live, since I will never give my business to Magnum Motors ever again. read more
