Nice little park to take 12 and under. Brand new park, no mature trees. Wide open empty fields surround the park

Facilities are a little rundown but not too bad, and sometimes get rather dirty. The basketball court is pretty rough though. Pathways are oddly meandering and they could use more benches and picnic tables throughout. Best part is Magna city does their weekly summer movies in this park. We've bounced around and visited most of the summer movies in the valley, and my family enjoys Magna's the most. Unlike other cities (except Draper), they include live music before the flick, and have a nice open space with a great view of the Oquirrh mountains. I wish they did free popcorn like other cities around, but at least they have free water in the coolers (pop would be better). One tip, always keep an eye on your stuff. A group of kids stole all of our candy and light ropes once last summer. We only let our guard down for ten minutes for some playground time. Kind of sad, since Magna gets a bad reputation already.

Great Salt Lake State Park - Great Salt Lake on a beautiful day in Utah!

what a way to kickoff Utah!…read more as we made it early to the State, we decided to start with the Great Salt Lame State Park. the fee is $10 per vehicle, but goes higher with other trucks and boats once you park, right after the entrance, you can walk out to 1) the actual beach, which has salts and the crystal clear river, 2) the pier with boats, 3) the overview or 4) other trails. in any case, toy also have a map of the State Park my favorite thing to do here was walk the beach and check out the water. i got my best pics here, as you can climb the rocks and get better views. you def smell the nature, fish and algae once you walk closer, but the experience is one of a kind Th, Salty Park! Utah will be fun

We visited Great Salt Lake State Park, which has a $10 entry fee. The views were nice, but honestly…read morenot worth much walking around. The smell was overwhelming-like dead fish--and after about a mile of walking, things went downhill fast. My husband and I both started sinking into the mud, nearly to our knees. It was a horrible feeling, and getting unstuck was messy and stressful. By the time we freed ourselves, our shoes and legs were completely drenched in smelly, muddy water, and we still had to walk about a mile back like that. When we asked at the welcome center where we could rinse off, they told us to use the showers near the bathrooms--but those required a code we hadn't been given. After some effort, we eventually got access, but we were uncomfortable and smelly the entire time. If not for that mishap, the stop would have been more enjoyable. On the positive side, it is pet-friendly, and the views from the shoreline were worth a few quick photos. Just be very cautious if you plan to walk near the water's edge.

I honestly wasn't planning to do much at Murray City Park (I just stopped by to stretch my legs for…read morea bit) but it ended up being way nicer than you expect a quick stop to be. When you enter, you're greeted by a huge wooden Chief Wasatch sculpture at the entrance. It's kind of hard to miss and gives the whole place a bit of character before you even step onto the paths. From there, it opens up into this really clean, green space that just feels well cared for. And clean is the big thing here that matters. It feels like the park is well maintained. The grass is lush, the landscaping is especially pretty in the summer months, and there are tons of mature trees that give you shade without making the place feel closed in. It strikes a nice balance between open space and cozy, private areas. The walking paths are another highlight. They're easy, flat, and perfect if you're just trying to clear your head or, like me, take a quick break and stretch your legs. You've also got little views of water here and there that add to the calm vibe without turning it into a full-on destination park. What's kind of impressive is how much is packed into one place. There's an amphitheater, sports fields for pretty much everything, a pool, even an outdoor ice rink when it's in season. The park has playgrounds, picnic areas, and pavilions, too. The park is open year-round and is clearly a local favorite because it's always buy, but the crowds never felt overwhelming when I was there. There's enough space to spread out, which helps. Overall, this park is not trying to be anything flashy, just a really solid, well-kept community park. Easy to walk, nice to look at, and surprisingly relaxing for a quick stop. Definitely one of those spots you end up appreciating more than you expected.

The park has a cool rose garden area with a few seats and some artillery cannons. People were…read moreplaying volleyball or something in the center and it's right by a shopping center and the hospital, so a strategic location for sure. There's a large bust/statue up front as well.

It's in a beautiful location, higher up on the hill and provides you with some breathtaking views. We love how well kept the courts are and it doesn't seem to be as busy as some of the other ones in the valley (cough cough steer clear of the courts in Murray). Plenty of parking, plenty of open grass to run and play in, and it's right off Bangerter Highway--if you keep driving the windy road, you'll end up in Highland/Lehi area and that's beautiful too. I haven't seen any drinking fountains near the courts, but that's not to say they're not near the pavilions or park equipment--but I'd rather be safe than sorry and pack some extra water bottles. All in all, one of my new favorite areas. I can't wait to pack a picnic and return again soon! TIPS & TRICKS: * Lots of shade and benches, but you still don't want to forget sunscreen. * Because of the location, it's much more windy than normal, so be prepared to run a little harder!
