Aspen Meadows would be best described as a dog-walking park…read more While it has a gigantic space, there aren't the usual sporting accoutrements like tennis courts, basketball hoops, goals and such (although the room is plentiful enough for it!). There is, however, a perfectly placed playground for the kids, a few picnic tables including one under a gazebo. This playground includes the usuals and some unusuals, including a cool mini rock-climbing wall. The is a little bit of road noise, but luckily 9800 isn't used much up this way! Placed on a steepish hill, with a walkway around it, the grandiose space is perfect for walking your dog...or walking yourself. ;) There is even a poop-bag station. There is also a cool walk path connecting directly from the nearby neighborhood. Definitely a cool park for the whole family!

Showed up at the outdoor pool to swim with my kids. Online it said they were open for a "family fun…read moreweek" from 6-8pm. And when I arrived, the employees (bunch of teenaged workers, about 5 or 7 of them) said they didn't know what I was talking about and said they were closed. When I left, I looked over and I could see all the workers doing cannonballs and jumping into the pool. It was only them. Some family night, huh? My husband and I met up with a friend to go disc golfing here, and I was totally blown away. The…read moremountain views are absolutely gorgeous, and the sunset was beautiful!! The disc golf course isn't anything super special, but it's a good course to get some throws in. There is a walking path throughout the disc golf course, and the park was busy the night we were there. Be prepared to wait a little bit. We didn't mind cause we were catching up with a friend anyway. This park is also directly under the flight path, so you get to see a bunch of airplanes flying overhead which I loved! The trees also smelled amazing. There were a few big softball fields that looked awesome and also the rec center is in the same space. I would highly recommend checking out this park and playing the disc golf course.

And looking at the other reviews, it seems that there is far more to this park than just what I saw. I need to come back and continue to explore. The softball complex has great seating, large bathrooms and is well maintained. There's good lighting for night games and good visibility from any seat in the bleachers (I know, I moved around a lot-I get restless.) There's also ample parking nearby. I did opt to park a little further away from the field, knowing that some of the folks on the team I was watching can hit a ball pretty far and I didn't want to fix a broken windshield.

The Cottonwood Heights Parks & Recreation system played a major role in my childhood. I've only…read morejust come to this realization, but sifting through my first memories of childhood and then those wonderfully formative elementary school years, it's evident that the local parks are home to some pretty terrific (and terrifying) memories. You don't want to hear about all that, though. So I'll cut to the chase. Anzak Park. In my mind, it was always the tennis park. I've never played tennis there once, but there are some nice courts that were always well-maintained and always busy. To this day they seem pretty well-maintained and a popular place to go whack a few tennis balls with your buds. The pavilion bisects the park. The reservable area actually has power and houses around 100 people. You've got potties and BBQ pits as well, so everyone should be comfy. Kids have a small but serviceable playground, and the southernmost part of the park has two baseball fields. They're not magnificent, but they'll do just fine for the local little leagues. You may see the place spelled as Antczak Park (or perhaps it will get change on Yelp, depending on what the official name is), but honestly, I've only ever seen it as Anzak. I didn't take note of the sign the last time I was here, so perhaps Cottonwood Heights is making an effort to change the spelling. But why make it more complicated than it needs to be. I'm sticking with Anzak.

Wonderful park tucked in a neighborhood. An obstacle course type play structure that kept all of…read moremy kids entertained for hours. There was a broken sprinkler right on the city strip as you're entering the park, causing a small swamp, so watch out for that. There was also a bit of litter over by the picnic tables. Hopefully this relatively new park doesn't fall into neglect too soon. West Valley has some great parks, but several have been neglected as well.

Wasatch Hollow Park is a "hidden" oasis in the Sugar House area with a playground, a small picnic…read morepavilion, and an off-leash dog park. The adjacent nature preserve next to the creek is interesting to explore. The paths are well-worn and show the wear of a well-explored city park. Unfortunately, for all its promise, Wasatch Hollow Park is rundown. It has older playground equipment, dead and patchy grass, and poorly maintained grounds. It would be great to see the city invest in and improve this park.

I am either extremely happy about places, or I like to constructively tell them how they can be better. Given, I won't be giving them five stars if they gave some area for improvement, just some real talk so ya'll don't think I am just yanking your chain around telling you everywhere is oh so cool, when it most oh so certainly is not. This particular park is super close to my house. So close I can walk there if my dogs and I are feeling adventerous and like we ate our wheaties that day. Only a joke because I am gluten free! Anyways, this park is pretty cool. In summer they actually do free movies in the park and that was the first time we stumbled across this great place. It is huge, they have a playground and jungle gym. So whether you have an animal, or little ones, meaning kids, or anything I guess? You should come here. The kids love it as well as the animals. I don't ever let mine off the leash, even though they are small I never know how close they will stay towards home. Home being me, myself, and I. Also point being, because they are small, they tend to have what some may call the, "little man syndrome" they like to prove their tough even though they are small, so they do the whole big bark, small interior. They are harmless and each on their own weight below ten pounds, definitely, most definitely, not frightening.
