You don't want to hear about all that, though. So I'll cut to the chase. Anzak Park. In my mind, it was always the tennis park. I've never played tennis there once, but there are some nice courts that were always well-maintained and always busy. To this day they seem pretty well-maintained and a popular place to go whack a few tennis balls with your buds. The pavilion bisects the park. The reservable area actually has power and houses around 100 people. You've got potties and BBQ pits as well, so everyone should be comfy. Kids have a small but serviceable playground, and the southernmost part of the park has two baseball fields. They're not magnificent, but they'll do just fine for the local little leagues. You may see the place spelled as Antczak Park (or perhaps it will get change on Yelp, depending on what the official name is), but honestly, I've only ever seen it as Anzak. I didn't take note of the sign the last time I was here, so perhaps Cottonwood Heights is making an effort to change the spelling. But why make it more complicated than it needs to be. I'm sticking with Anzak.

Showed up at the outdoor pool to swim with my kids. Online it said they were open for a "family fun…read moreweek" from 6-8pm. And when I arrived, the employees (bunch of teenaged workers, about 5 or 7 of them) said they didn't know what I was talking about and said they were closed. When I left, I looked over and I could see all the workers doing cannonballs and jumping into the pool. It was only them. Some family night, huh? And that's your cue to make a turn and go back behind the station to find this park. Less of a park, and more of a playground, it's just got some grass, a playground, and that's about it. The good news is that if you're looking for a few more amenities like a pavilion, ball fields, or even room to run, you can head just a few blocks away to Union Park and you've got loads of those things. I imagine this little spot is big with parents in the neighborhood who want a place to take the kiddos for a bit, just to get away. As I'm not really that target demographic, and there isn't much else to do here, I probably won't spend a lot of time. But it's good to know it's here.

There's plenty of parking, a decent playground, a covered area, and a small grassy space. That's it. With no rest rooms, or a grassy area not big enough for any type of game, it's not really a "spend the day" park. I'd say if you live near the park, and your kid is hankering for a playground, go ... anyone else, you may want to head across the street to Union Park.

Plus it's one of the newer parks in the area so it's still in pretty good condition and kept fairly clean. Has a fun playground good for kids of all ages, benches for parents, a large sand box, open grass areas to play, a pavilion with charcoal grill and stanchions for a volleyball net (bring your own). It's also surrounded by a walking path and dotted with a couple of picnic tables. It does lack a full-sized swing set, but has two for toddlers.

The pavilion itself had a lot of bench seating and additional tables were set up by the hosts for food and they had decorations up. Parking was plentiful and the restrooms were clean with flushing toilets, but the hand dryer wasn't working and there aren't any mirrors.

Wonderful park tucked in a neighborhood. An obstacle course type play structure that kept all of…read moremy kids entertained for hours. There was a broken sprinkler right on the city strip as you're entering the park, causing a small swamp, so watch out for that. There was also a bit of litter over by the picnic tables. Hopefully this relatively new park doesn't fall into neglect too soon. West Valley has some great parks, but several have been neglected as well.
