We decided to check out this restaurant in a Saturday afternoon. I believe it was around 3pm. We were concerned once we parked in front, since there were very few cars. However, once we placed the order and saw how delicious everything looked. We felt so much better. And then we tried out fish and chips, fried shrimp, boiled eggs ( the English fried version ). All of those plates were delicious and sufficient for our group of 3 adults and two small kids to share. Along with a side of chicken wings that went along well with their tasty hot sauce . The service was good and friendly. They claimed it was as authentic as you could eat English food. Loved how calmed it was at that time. Perfect for family gatherings of all ages. Great decor and they are definitely ready for the upcoming World Cup nice tv screen read more

Great fish & Chips with a real Black & Tan. I feel sorry for them with the roundabout construction down the road. I'll be back.

Enjoyed dinner this evening. Bangers and mash were very good. Could be hotter in temperatures. The prime rib dinner was very good with six sides. Mushy peas were good. Service was very good by Kate. Desserts to die for. BTW, the suggested gratuities is including the tax!! read more

The food was OK. I can't really speak upon the service as the server was super dry. I came on a Sunday morning. There was only two other patrons. They are sitting at the bar. It was freezing and we ordered several things. The corn beef hash breakfast was OK. The half order of biscuits and gravy was OK as well but the biscuit was cold and the gravy was barely warm so I didn't eat much of it but you see in the picture is as much as I could tolerate which was half of a half because I thought it was just strange that it was not warm for the kind of meal it was. Now the kicker of all of it is that when I went to the bathroom, it wasn't the cleanliest bathroom overall but afterwards I realized there was no soap in either of the dispensers and this is also the same bathroom that the employees use. I won't be back and a local told me not to go, but I didn't listen so.... read more

We ate lunch while visiting Mt Dora and enjoyed it thoroughly from great friendly and good service, casual ambience, to the delicious food. We ordered the Fish and Chips dinner to share for lunch, and it was plenty. There were two Halibut fish filets, and the crust was crispy and the fish was delicious and perfectly cooked. The fries were hot and crispy and the brown gravy was a welcomed change from ketchup. We ordered mushy peas as a side because my partner was a big fan. We had Old Speckled Hen on drought. Very enjoyable. Apparently the business is moving shortly nearby. read more

This is the second time I visited this place. This time came in the evening to listen to a band. Sat at the bar at first. Got served quickly by the bartender. Moved to a high rise table to be closer to the stage. Service on the regular table was a little slow. Place is ok. Did not order food. The drinks options were mediocre. read more

This was honestly the slowest service I have experienced in a long time and when you have three hungry little boys with you it just doesn't go over very well. And after all that waiting the food was just sub par... I have just not had any good experiences in Mount Dora when it comes to dining. read more

We have visited Magical Meat before but only had beverages. Today we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch of Cod and chips, a Scotch Egg and battered sausage bites. The fish and chips was a very generous portion for us to share. Hot, crispy and everything you would want it to be. The Scotch Egg and sausage bites were also great. Service was top notch. We look forward to our next trip to Mt Dora to try some of their other dishes. read more

This is a very cute pub with indoor and outdoor seating. It is very cute in its theming. The service was excellent. The woman that helped us was attentive and very friendly. The food was very good. Went here on a Saturday early afternoon with another couple. 1st time to new location. I had peri peri wing basket. Wife and brother in law split the larger portion fish and chips (haddock). Sister-in-law had the steak, ale, and bacon pie. Portion sizes were good and flavor of all was great. Cool place with good beer selection and service was great. Nice to see they have a large projection screen for European football, darts, and cricket matches. Felt like I was in a pub back in the UK. New location has tons more room and plenty of parking compared to their old location in downtown Mt Dora. Will be back for sure. read more

This was just one of our many stops in Mount Dora and we mainly just stopped for some drinks and appetizers and everything we ordered was very good. We were able to sit outside and it was a beautiful day out so it was perfect. This is a British pub and they offer 16 imported beers on draught. We all had different beers from their extensive menu and none of us were disappointed. We had the pretzels with beer cheese and onion rings for apps. The beer cheese was so, so good and the onions were huge, perfectly crispy and not greasy at all. They have a menu with lots of choices and on weekends they serve a traditional British breakfast. Our server was great! Fun place to stop by if you're in the area. read more

My husband and I were spending the day in Mt. Dora and before taking a boat tour of Lake Dora and the Dora Canal, we decided to stop in for a lite bite at the Magical Meat Boutique - a pub/restaurant owned and operated by a guy from London, where the original MMB was located. There is so much memorabilia on the walls throughout the restaurant. My favorite is a doll set featuring Def Leppard commemorating their "Hysteria" album. After the boat tour, we went back to the Magical Meat Boutique for dinner. Our server, Kate, was totally amazing. She was more than happy to answer questions and accommodate my special requests. Kate's personality was just awesome. She and I are both American women who are married to British men and swapped "how we met" stories. My husband, being from England, had a hard time choosing what to eat both visits because he was definitely familiar with the many offerings available on the menu. The had breakfast offerings til 4pm including full English and Irish breakfasts, as well as popular breakfast sandwiches. There was plenty to choose from on the appetiser section, including Scotch Eggs. Dinner options were plentiful. We did see an order of fish and chips go by...what an enormous piece of fish (choose between cod or haddock) and another entree of bangers and mash served in a large Yorkshire pudding. I will most definitely go back to that place. Oh...if you EVER get the chance to go that restaurant, you MUST get the sticky toffee pudding with the warm custard sauce. read more

A pretty neat place if you want to explore your pallet a little bit more! I was craving Fish n Chips for some reason (my love for UK Fish n Chips is crazy), and this was the closest place with the best reviews for it. We were self-seated outside and was welcomed by our server, Chyenne. She was so bubbly and friendly, it made our dine-in experience great! We ordered the Fish n Chips (of course) and the Hunters Smothered Chicken Breast, paired with two Magic Mojitos. My goodness, their food was so delicious, and their drinks were perfect for a beautiful, sunny day in Mount Dora. The best part is that they offer their drinks in to-go cups, so we were able to enjoy their drinks around the block. We can't wait to come back and try some of their drafts! read more

Six of us went there for St. Patrick's Day and it was such an amazing time. Even though they were busy, the service was great. The portions are big. The food is great and they came around with free shots. There's nothing bad to say. I can't wait to go there again! read more

Wow! Solid pub, this. We really rather enjoyed ourselves! Wasn't too happy with them when they were across the street but they're a proper pub now and the few times we've been in, everything's been "spot on." God, I hate saying that. lol. Was in for some good FIFA fun, pub grub, and several many proper British libations and we really enjoyed ourselves. Split a full English breakfast without fuss over a few pints and was enjoyable. Actually the first full English I've had in a long time that wasn't ridiculously greasy and I appreciated that. I also liked that they have a good selection of British beers on tap; unlike so many other Pubs I've been to who think they do. Was some good repeatable fun! read more

We stopped in today with high hopes, but left somewhat disappointed. We tried the Scotch egg which was ok. It had a crunchy texture and my hubs liked it even though he typically won't eat hard boiled eggs. I had the Cod/chips w/side of mushy peas. The peas were seasoned with mint and tasty. The fish was very greasy but plentiful. The hubs had shepherd's beef pie and enjoyed it with mashed potatoes. The downside? I picked up the malt vinegar bottle to find it crusty dirty. And the bathroom... sticky floor- not good. read more

Fully enjoyed the English breakfast out on the patio! I can't speak for the authenticity, but I had always wanted to try an English breakfast and it hit the spot. Others in my party got fish and chips - honestly, not my favorite I've ever tried. I think the chips/fries could have been a bit crisper. Service was friendly and attentive, though, and it was a lovely place for brunch on a sunny patio. read more

The Haddock Fish and Chips were amazing. The waiter was engaging. The room was filled with people who couldn't guess one thing on the trivia game. First time having afternoon tea at magical meat boutique... it was "nice". The price is the best around @ $25 plus tax/tip. We arrived and our tea tower was already on the table. Scones were outstanding! Sandwiches were "ok"... too much cream cheese for me and the chix salad felt more like tuna salad. The quiche was cold/room temp which is ok but it had to be salted/peppered to help with the flavor. They only offer black tea with your service. I think some of the offerings are why it's only $25. Service was good and consistent. The room was a bit warm and it wasn't full. I think it might've been miserable if there were more tables occupied. Would I go again - I think so. It's an English pub style restaurant - I'd definitely try the regular/daily menu. read more

After waiting for a table call (that never happened) from a nearby restaurant, we saw this cute place that could seat us immediately. We sat in the bar. Server was friendly. We had multiple issues with the food orders. The server handled it exceptionally well. Honestly it would have been a 1-star review had she not impressed me with her sincere apologies. I recommend this place, although I likely won't be returning due to the menu options and the negative memories. read more

Warm beer, mediocre food...weird ass pricing. Neh. I wish i had saved the money. Husband got the foot long (was NOT a foot long) fish and chips - very greasy taster. This was our first visit to Mt Dora, only for a few hours and we wanted to have dinner with friends. One recommended this place and we couldn't have been happier!! Everyone's food was delicious. One of the favorites was the Chicken curry pie. I had the vegetarian Bangers & Mash, really good! They have a great selection of gin cocktails. The Juniper and lavender were delicious. There was live music which we all enjoyed. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in. We were a large group and they accommodated us quickly. Our server was terrific!! So slow down a sec. Sit down already. Let me give you a couple of suggestions. First sit outside at night to the left of the front door if you plan on having a conversation. Second, just start by ordering two drinks. The staff is really busy and stretched. Third, as an app, get the jumbo fried shrimp. Send me thanks later. Fourth, if you love fish run, as quick as you can, immediately order the haddock and chips. Those chips are English style crispy and delicious. Now for the fish. Light batter, tender and MASSIVE piece of fish. Fifth, don't be upset with yourself because you love the meal and you feel it necessary to write a great review. So go love this place. I can't believe I forgot to ask take pictures of my food. I heard great things about their lamb burger and I just had to order it. The Camden burger came with chopped tomatoes and parsley tabouli with some sort of aioli sauce. The burger itself very juicy ( I have mine medium) and didn't taste "gamey" at all. It came with fries which you have to drizzle with malt vinegar. This restaurant is a cute place to stop by when you're in Mount Dora; you won't regret it.
