Magical Lighting did my wedding's backdrop, fairy lighting and special 8ft lighting for the dance floor. It was an absolutely perfect amount of lighting: not too much but not too little! My venue was pretty small, but Cecil really worked his magic to be able to hang the lighting because my venue said nothing was allowed to be hung from the ceiling, but he somehow convinced them to allow magnetic hooks! I didn't even show him what design I wanted, I just told him what kind of lights to use and he still was able to get my vision! Cecil definitely has a great eye for this kind of stuff! I highly recommend him! read more

Highly recommend Cecil and his team! We were married at Hakone towards the end of September and worked with Cecil for our lighting. Cecil is very easy to communicate with and the team is incredibly detail oriented. We had a walk through a month before the wedding, and the lighting set up the day of was everything we had envisioned and more. We got so many compliments from our guests that our wedding looked like a fairytale! Truly Magic! read more

Cecil and his crew are something else. He made my wedding truly a Magical day. From start to finish the experience was top-notch with world-class service. My wedding was near Santa Rosa, but Cecil and his team came out from across the Bay Area to accommodate my location. The location was outdoors, and he created a vision to truly highlight the locations beauty while not over doing it. For the ceremony area, he provided audio and chiffon on the trees which made our outdoor wedding beautiful, but still easy to hear. For the reception area, he had custom lights with our names created and shown on the venue which really popped. Magical Lighting offered a very impressive setup for a truly reasonable price, and he ensured that I didn't pay for things I didn't need. The lights and audio support from start to finish made my wedding look over the top, and I could not have done it without him. Thank you so much! I thoroughly recommend reaching out if you are at all interested. read more

Magical Lighting are a preferred vendor for my wedding venue so I hired them for my outdoor night wedding. Cecil is great at communication over email and phone and they are extremely knowledgeable about lighting large, extremely dark party areas. The price was fair market value and they offer many more lighting options than other companies. My guests and I in particular LOVED the gazebo lights strung over the lawn on poles. So romantic and soft that lighting is for dinner, socializing, and it looks great in the pictures. We did have an issue where my wedding cake spotlight was not done so my cake got forgotten and melted, but I contacted Cecil after the wedding and he was very surprised this mistake happened and was accommodating making it right as best he could. There was a huge order of equipment they had to set up 2xs their usual speed for my venue restrictions so I don't hold 1/15 things going wrong as too awful. Their other lighting still made my wedding magical. read more

We worked with Cecil and his team on two occasions to transform our ranch into a beautiful wedding venue. Cecil is easy to work with, has a great vision for how his lighting will magically enhance any space, and is crew is very friendly and professional. read more

Highly recommend Magical Lighting and would totally work with them again! We gave them a heck of a project for our Sept 2021 wedding and they knocked it out of the park. We wanted a huge light canopy over our 50ft dinner reception table and a creative lighting design for our night ceremony in a redwood cathedral on a remote venue, in the middle of the redwoods, with an off-the-grid solar power energy source. Cecil is everything you want in a vendor -- professional, thorough, knowledgeable, easy to work with, reasonable/fair on the budget, and communicative. He did the site visit, spoke with the venue owners to discuss energy/power needs, and asked all the questions I wouldn't know to ask. His team came the day before to set up (so they could see the finished product at night) and they must have worked 12 hours with the install - incredible attention to detail and made sure everything was safe and worked. It was epic and, of course, magical :) read more

Magical Lighting set up lighting to provide a dramatic view of our historic building, which first opened a hundred years ago. Because of the pandemic, we did not want to invite the public inside the building for the 100th Anniversary of its Grand Opening. Instead, we turned to Cecil to create on the outside a magical image of the beautiful Italian Renaissance Revival style architecture -- a center piece of the community. Cecil came early, accommodated our every request when setting up his lights, and returned on time to pack up his equipment. His price was very reasonable. I highly recommend Cecil to anyone looking for a warm, talented expert to light up an important event. Joan S. read more

I met Eddy from Magical Lighting at a friends wedding I coordinated. He was very pleasant to talk to and work with. He had great suggestions for our Valentines Day wedding at The Palm Event Center. He did a great job coordinating with the vendor that draped the entire venue. I highly recommend Magical Lighting to all your future events and weddings. read more

Eddy did an amazing job providing lighting for our wedding at Murrieta's Well in Livermore this past May. Our reception was in a wine barrel room and we had globe stringlights draped from the ceiling, uplighting, downlights on the bar and head table and a pinspot on the wedding cake. Outside we also had uplights on the front of the barn and uplights on some trees and some rows of vines. Although I specifically requested the stringlights and uplighting, the rest was at Eddy's suggestion. He created a wonderful rustic and romantic feel and it was exactly what I had asked for and imagined. Eddy was quick to respond to emails and he arrived early to set up so that he could ensure there were no problems. And maybe best of all, Magical Lighting is so reasonably priced! Many of the other companies tried to sell us on unnecessary items and overcharged for them in general. I highly recommend Eddy! read more

Cecil and the magical lighting crew were amazing for our wedding! It was so easy to work with them and the set up/breakdown was so seamless, it was like the name implies...magical! We booked very last minute and Cecil was still so responsive and helpful both via email and phone. He was also great in helping us figure out what lighting we would need within our budget. The price was right and everything was simple and easy. The lighting was beautiful and was the special touch we needed for our wedding day. Thanks Cecil! read more

We used Magical Lighting for our wedding in September 2013 and they were wonderful to work with. Their prices were very reasonable and they made great suggestions based on the venue. My husband and I thought lighting our venue would make a great impression on our guests, but we were completely blown away by the overall transformation! Hiring Eddy was the best decision we made, his work made the night! Everyone complimented us on how amazing our venue looked. read more

Eddy was very easy to work with - knew his stuff very well, had great ideas, and was much more reasonable in price than other vendors we had contacted. He set up our recent wedding at Rengstorff house - we had string lights over the dinner area, uplights on the surrounding trees, downlights on specific tables and soft dance floor lighting. We were so lucky to work with such a nice, honest guy. Thank you Magical Lighting! read more

Great prices, great communication, great setup & tear down. Cecil and Magical Lighting did an amazing job at my wedding. I did a walk through with Cecil at my venue and he was great at seeing and informing me what lighting type would really help enhance the venue and letting me decide what I wanted to move forward with. I'd use Magical Lighting and would recommend them to any of my friends. read more

We used Magical Lighting for our wedding reception in September, and we can't sing their praises enough! Eddy managed to turn an otherwise drab ballroom into the perfect reception hall. He met with us for a site visit even before booking him, scouted out outlets, and spoke with the venue coordinator all before providing us with a quote. He also worked with us to fit our budget. And in the end, we saved on decor elsewhere because the lighting did a lot of the heavy lifting in transforming a hotel ballroom into a true event space. Magical Lighting's quote was significantly cheaper than the other vendor we used to compare, and Eddy is the outmost professional: extremely responsive, knowledgeable, and wonderful to deal with. Eddy even made a second visit out to the venue before our event, realized that the room would look better with more gobos, and included the extra lighting without charging us more. He also stayed throughout the night and adjusted the lighting throughout the evening to make it fit the mood, whether it be the first dance (purple/warm tones) or the whole guest list hitting the dance floor (rainbow changing uplights). Book Magical Lighting and you won't regret it! read more

This past weekend my husband and I worked with Cecil, from Magical Lighting. Magical lighting was amazing to work with. We had them do lighting for our wedding....they set everything up, and tore everything down with ease. They were the one vendor that we didn't have to worry about! Also, I got bids from multiple vendors for lighting- and Magical lighting was definitely the cheapest!! They even threw in extra lighting the day of, and didn't ask for any more money....incredible customer support!! We were so pleased with them- highly recommended! read more

Eddy was great to work with! He is very artistic, creative and his prices were awesome! He created my wedding light tent for my outdoor wedding at the Mountain Winery. It was absolutely stunning. He also set up a large chandler with fresh hanging orchid garlands and crystal garlands in the tree we got married under. It was very romantic and was everything I hoped for it to be. He was on time to set up and removed everything within the limited time frame. I compared his prices to others and he is really honest and will work within your budget. I would recommend Eddy to anyone. Just be clear on what you want, pictures always help. He also has great ideas of his own and throws in some free perks (e.g. up-lighting, etc.) Thank you so much Eddy! Best, Joyce & Len Kandt read more

Eddy did the lights for my daughter's wedding in August, 2012. She got married at the Rengstorff House in Mountain View. He did all the lighting for the reception on the lawn and dance floor. Eddy loves what he does and it shows in his work. He is dedicated and pays attention to detail. He will offer suggestions and work within your budget. He did a great job with the lights. He put up lights in all the trees and surrounding buildings. Her color was pink and he used that for the house and dance floor while keeping the lawn area with just the natural lights on all of the trees. It really did look amazing. read more

Magical Lighting went out of their way to accommodate our ever changing ideas about how we wanted the lighting at our wedding to be, and did an even better job than we ever dreamed of on the day itself. We wanted lights, TONS of lights, and we got exactly that. Eddy was more than willing to schedule a site visit before we even booked him to measure everything, scout out the available outlets and wattage (and call the site coordinator when it wasn't immediately apparent), and give us an accurate estimate of what was possible, and how much it would cost. When we changed our minds two months later, he insisted on doing a second site visit to make sure he got all the new details right, and when it turned out that THAT site visit was unhelpful due to an event taking place in the area we needed to show him, he made a THIRD trip out to the venue by himself later to do all of the new measurements. Eddy kept in constant contact with us via email during the months before the wedding. He was always full of ideas about what might look interesting in the space provided, considering a great variety of decorations, not just lighting related. He offered to design and install strings of beads, crystals, and flowers as well as lanterns, market lights, twinkle lights, uplighting, light washes, pinspots, and lampposts. He was also willing to to install lanterns we had provided ourselves at no additional cost. He was also completely open to all of our lighting desires, no matter how complicated, and was willing to spend the time and effort to make our vision a reality. Words cannot do justice to how absolutely stunning Magical Lighting made our wedding venue that night. I will post photos of their beautiful work as soon as I get the photos. I cannot recommend Eddy and Magical Lighting enough. read more

I HIGHLY recommend Eddy!!! He made my wedding experience the best ,the room looked absolutely beautiful.. I couldn't have asked for a better person to take care of my lighting.. I had a few issues with other vendors but not eddy, every time I called him he answered any questions I had he was there to break it down for me.. He always kept me on point, from being so busy plannig this wedding he helped me so much... We used Magical Lightning for our wedding, and I can say without a doubt Cecil and the team at Magical Lighting went above and beyond to make the lighting at our wedding perfect. The lighting at our outdoor dinner and indoor dancing exceeded our expectations. Our original venue forced us to cancel our wedding 3 weeks before the day, and we had to change to a different location. Living in New York and the wedding in the Bay Area, we were not able to see the new venue. We hired Magical Lighting only 2 and a half weeks before our wedding and through email and diagrams we were able to plan perfect lighting. Cecil kept in constant contact with me in the weeks leading up to the wedding and was a pleasure to work with. I can't say enough positive things about Magical Lighting. Simply put, if you would like indoor or outdoor lighting for your wedding, definitely hire Magical Lighting for a fantastic experience. read more

I had a fantastic experience with Magical Lighting - they did a great job and were very reasonably priced. The owner Eddy was very easy to work with and very professional. He listened to what we wanted, then offered his own suggestions which were great. Eddy at Magical Lighting did a fantastic job to transform what would've been a very corporate looking space into a classy and elegant wedding venue-- my mind was blown by how gorgeous everything looked when my new hubby and I first entered the ballroom! He was very helpful and proactive throughout the wedding planning process. We were going for a romantic candle-lit feel, and he gave great recommendations that made the lighting truly beautiful and even better than what I had ever imagined. These guys are pros & one of my favorite vendors at our San Francisco presidio wedding! Would not hesitate to book again. The lighting at the wedding was amazing and completely transformed our reception hall, which in the daytime just looked like a regular conference room. We had a nice pattern wash on the ceiling, uplights on the perimeter, and six chandeliers on the rafters. On the day of the wedding, they were quick to setup and take-down, doing all their work in the allotted time, impressive given the tight schedule. Cecil & Eddy responded to emails immediately from both me and the venue; Cecil visited the venue with me to help come up with a lighting plan (alleviating many worries since I knew zilch about lighting), was timely, pleasant, and paid close attention to details (ex: making sure to minimize the visuals of electrical cables in the hall). He even offered to help replicate some things I'd seen on Pinterest. Overall, they were professional and did a fantastic job. Highly recommended. read more

Right from our first meeting with Eddy we knew he was going to do an amazing job with the lighting for our reception and he did not disappoint. Magical Lighting took care of all the spot lighting and the gobo lighting for our reception. We also had a personalized gobo design made and had it shine on the dance floor. From meeting us before our wedding to plan the lighting to helping us make our custom gobo, Eddy was on top of it and made sure everything was going to be perfect on our wedding day. It turned out absolutely amazing and many of our guests commented on how impressed they were with the lighting and ambiance. We worked with Cecil on a backyard wedding with 140 guests and he was a super star!! He showed up on time to discuss the project, gave us some great ideas, executed them perfectly and on time to create a truly magical setting with the right lights for all the areas we had discussed: entry area, dining area, dance floor, bar, etc. Our rather pedestrian rancher was turned into a fabulous venue. Hiring Eddy for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made in planning the event, as he went above and beyond in handling a complex job and making our wedding a beautiful, well-lit evening. We held our wedding in the middle of a field in the effectively the middle of nowhere in rural California, with no access to electricity, infrastructure, etc. Eddy not only built a series of poles and other infrastructure needed to light the reception, he also helped organize our power needs, which was outside of his job requirements. He helped us rent a large generator, retrieved the machine, set it up and worked with our band to ensure we would have enough power for them. And beyond all that, he created beautiful lighting along a walking path, above our reception, in little nooks and crannies and highlighting a tree 100 yards away where we got married. And through it all he had a terrific attitude. We highly recommend Eddy and Magical Lighting! read more
