We've found Amber Electric on Yelp. it was all a great experience from the moment Chris Davis, the owner, arrived to give us the first estimate, to the two days he spent fixing up our house. He was so booked, he proposed July 28 and we accepted. July 28 finally came around and Chris did not show. But neither forgetting our job, or proposing to make good 6 weeks later was very professional.

I attach pics of before and after for the fence and the sink.

They were very efficient at doing the jobs and their prices are competitive. They put some handrails on three sets of stairs, rebuilt one of them up to code and made a little patio with pavers at the bottom of the stairs; they also reinforced the structure of the front porch by replacing some of the beams and adding new ones, they installed an awning, and did many other things, like hanging a large mirror above the fireplace, that I had been postponing for years. It is a relief to have finally someone I can call upon as soon as something needs to be fixed.

He was punctual and professional. He wore a mask and he also took his shoes off in the house without asking, which my wife was happy about. Not only did he fix the door handle (without having to actually replace the whole deadbolt/handle, which I feared), but when I told him the reason the handle broke - because of a problem with the lock - he then grabbed some more tools and fixed the underlying problem with the lock. The latter task took him longer than the original one, but he still only asked for his initially quoted price. How often does that happen?? David managed to fix what had been a huge headache for us in less than one morning.

I originally hired them for drywall repairs, but they also ended up staining my door and pillars. Everything turned out beautifully. The drywall repair was especially impressive....you cannot even tell where the repairs were made because they blended seamlessly with the existing drywall. The staining on the door and pillars also came out great and really improved the overall appearance. They were prompt, respectful, professional, and paid close attention to detail. Their pricing was also very reasonable and competitive, especially considering the quality of the work. It's not always easy to find someone who provides excellent workmanship at a fair price. I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality, reliable work.

If they did not have the bandwidth for smaller projects, I wish they had not come for a site visit, which wasted my time.

Oops sorry!] I was putting my home up for sale and needed a few small repairs before the home inspection. Well, I totally got my dates mixed up and it turned out that I only had two days to make these fixes (otherwise they'd be marked on the inspection report, which we didn't want! I ended up calling Diablo Valley handyman as they were recommended to me by a neighbor. I called first thing in the morning, and I believe I spoke with the actual owner (James.) I told him my situation and even though it sounded like he had a pretty full schedule, he was able to have somebody up the very next day to not only assess everything, but actually make the repairs! We needed to have a fence repaired , a new staircase hand-railing put up, some minor trim fixes around our windows. And then quite a few window screens needed replacing. (We have cats, lol) The fact that they were able to come out on such short notice, make all the repairs in one day, plus the guys that showed up to do the work were warm and friendly! After all of this, I absolutely expected to pay a high premium, however, the invoice came back for a more than reasonable amount! (It was a bit higher than the original estimate over the phone, but that was our fault because we forgot to tell them about the window screens!) Getting ready to sell a house is maddening and so stressful. Do Diablo Valley handyman was one of the only aspects that put us at ease during this entire process! Unfortunately, we moved quite a bit further away so we fall out of these guys' service zone now, but that's part of the reason why I wanted to make sure I wrote this review.... because I never forgot the awesome service we received!

Mark kept me informed with all the progress each day, and his attention to detail ensured that everything ended up looking great. Overall, I had a really good experience with them and will plan to contact them again for any future projects.

After installation, he sent over an invoice and we noticed there was no plumber license number. Our home insurance is now asking us to get another plumber to verify Derek's work.
