After reading the reviews, my story is the same as all the others. Driver called once asking for money and never showed up and I was stranded in the middle of 8 mile blocking traffic in 8 degree weather for 3 hours. The 3 hours and the lite frostbite are not worth it. Do not do business with them at all. read more

As usual, Magic aka Breakthrough Towing, signed up for a roadside service call, AND NEVER SHOWED UP!!! AVOID THEM AT ALL COST!!!

Today my car had to be towed and this is the company Allstate sent out. I got updates and he even called me giving an ETA. He came a lot sooner than the original estimated time. He got my car hooked up and towed to where it needed to be. He was a very friendly guy too! I couldn't have had a better experience with a tow truck company. read more

if I could give negative stars I would, I work for a collision company and it just so happened, my fiancés car was getting sent into for an accident. They typically use Dan's towing so this was already a red flag. They attempted to contact my fiancé stating they were at the house to pick the car up, so we look outside aand nobodys there. so they called the number provided below automated message that they're at the house. after trying to confirm he was at the right address he hung up without saying a word. thinking it was a mistake, we called again. It rang twice before going to voice mail, meaning he not only had his phone on him, but saw the phone call pop up and sent it to voicemail that hasn't even been set up yet. personally if you're looking for a tow guy, Not worth even attempting to use their services read more

0 stars This company is so inconsiderate. Instead of telling me they could tow my 10-foot box truck, they left me waiting for 2hours. I tried to call them, and they avoided my call twice. I called my insurance company which dispatched them and she said they told her they couldn't tow it so now it's 4:30pm and the tire shop closes at 6pm ) I'm praying I can make it in time. read more

After working a 12 hr shift I realized that my tire had a slow leak. I called progressive for road side assistance. I was given a 45 min time window. I called magic towing and the dispatch said he could have someone in a shorter time. When the tow guy came he was swearing and telling me about another customer. He shared that he almost pooped on himself. Upon changing my tire he cursed and I asked what's wrong. He said that his tool died that could get the lug nut off. He then proceeded to call the dispatcher and share he couldn't get them off. He told me I will have to tow my car. He takes his supposed dying machine and puts the lug nut back on. I can't believe how cruel someone could be. This man look well into his 70s and he looked like he should've been asleep somewhere. It almost appeared as though it was all planned. I called the dispatcher and he lied and said he would send someone in 15 min. That imaginary person never came. I'm now waiting for another tow company who is 1 hr out. They must be stopped this has to be illegal somehow. Especially reading all the comments before. read more

The WORST. They lied and said my pickup was completed and then wouldn't answer the phone. They've listed their business as closed on Google to avoid anyone being able to review them. Horrible business. (If that's what you want to call it.) read more

If I could give it negative stars I would. State farm connected me to them...eta was an hour and a half to two hours....fine I shouldn't have been an idiot and needed assistance...but when you lie and say you are on your way 3 and a half hours later and then don't even show up...you guys suck! I am also going to contact my local state farm directly tomorrow after reading similar reviews and let them know this company is a fraud. read more

Magic Towing - Tow was finally completed by a different tow service at 12:25 p.m..close to 5 hours later...definitely reporting this tow company. - Towing Near Me - Detroit, Michigan

VERY RUDE - UNPROFESSIONAL AND ASKED FOR CASH PAYMENT WHEN THEY WEREN'T SUPPOSE TO. If I give them a negative star I would. They were requested from my insurance company to tow my vehicle. Once they arrived after lying and saying they were not originally assigned for my time - now mind you the insurance company emails the name and contact information when the tow is assigned. The assigned tow company was MAJIC TOW. They arrived and try to charge me $125 because the ball joint was broke. After contacting my insurance company; I was told they WERE NOT SUPPOSE TO ASK ME FOR ANY MONEY!! HORIBBLE SERVICE - DO NOT USE THIS TOW COMPANY read more

I would give a ZERO if I could. Was assigned through Allstate Roadside. Unable to call or contact. Tracker said they had been here but never saw nor heard from them. Called Roadside and had them contact Magic. They patched me in on the call. They kept saying 15 minutes. I told them i wanted a number. The guy wouldn't give it up. If they're that concerned about harassing phone calls, maybe they should drastically improve their service. The only thing that qualifies them as Magic is they are Masters of Illusion. Great at the disappearing act. read more

Spotters will wait until you enter McDONALDS ON WOODWARD, be aware! CURRENT ALERTS FOR THIS BUSINESS Alert: Update 03/05/2019: Company may also be using the name Magic Towing. In October 2018, BBB investigated Breakthrough Towing's business practices. This investigation was prompted by a large volume of complaints & consumer inquires. Consumers advise that their vehicles are being towed from a local Detroit McDonald's (Location: 4235 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48201) & Midtown Liquor (Location: 4161 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48201) illegally. Several consumers assert this is done via the use of spotters. During the course of BBB's investigation, BBB employees encountered a man outside of Midtown Liquor who questioned our investigations team filming of a Breakthrough Towing truck. The man advised he was on lunch and had no affiliation with Breakthrough Towing. At the time, BBB was unable to confirm if the man was a spotter for Breakthrough Towing. After a report by Fox 2 Detroit aired, BBB was able to confirm it was the same man BBB encountered during the course of our investigation of the Midtown Liquor location. The business has failed to respond to BBB's numerous requests for response to consumer complaint issues. According to Michigan Vehicle Code Act 300 of 1949 Sec. 257.252d., "(2) Unless the vehicle is ordered to be towed by a police agency or a governmental agency designated by a police agency under subsection (1)(a), (d), (e), or (k), if the owner or other person who is legally entitled to possess a vehicle to be towed or removed arrives at the location where the vehicle is located before the actual towing or removal of the vehicle, the vehicle shall be disconnected from the tow truck, and the owner or other person who is legally entitled to possess the vehicle may take possession of the vehicle and remove it without interference upon the payment of the reasonable service fee, for which a receipt shall be provided." Consumers with outstanding concerns are still encouraged to file a complaint with BBB, but may also wish to obtain legal counsel and/or contact the Michigan State Police at: www.michigan.gov/msp. read more

Seeing all the reviews, i guess ill join in... magic towing was dispatched to me by my insurance provider. I placed the service order at 12:31am. At 2:20am, i receive a text saying magic towing will be arriving in 12 minutes -- 90 minutes later, still not here. Not even answering their phone. I was confident they'd at least show up, then i read all the reviews. One star average, everyone says they don't show up. Its now 4:30 am and im finally being dispatched to a different service provider. They'll probably be arriving around the time im supposed to be waking up for the day. All i need is to jump my battery. read more

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use Magic Towing. I called them when my car broke down and was told the wait would be about an hour. Over three hours later, still no sign of them. Every time I tried calling, straight to voicemail. Utterly unprofessional and unreliable. Save yourself the headache and frustration, go with ANY other towing service. read more

I sat and for waited 2 hours and never showed up. also never answered the phone. Thanks for wasting my time.

My car was broken down in a parking garage and towing company was contacted by Ford Roadside assistance. I waiting 3 hours called the driver and the driver cussed me out and hung up on me. Never again will I use Magic Towing

Pretty sure they're closed or out of business, because they don't answer the phone, you can't leave a voicemail, their website has the wrong info with a different phone line that's disconnected, and they will never show up. AAA and Life360 like to say they use them, but if they do, call back immediately and get a different tow company. This one is a joke - if they're even still in business at all. read more

Really wish the insurance companies would stop letting this crap "company" accept jobs. If they are assigned to you through your insurance company, then you need to ask for a different tow company!! The ONLY reason they get 2 stars is because of the WONDERFUL tow driver Lamont. The supervisor after waiting on him for 3 hours and he never showed up wanted to put my car down. If I could give -100 stars I would. First the guy puts my car on truck he's not supposed to. Dealership said he literally dragged my car in when it's an AWD AND CAN ONLY BE PLACES ON A FLATBED in order to make sure my drive train is safe. The dealership explained how horrible the guy was when dropping it off. Then when I try to call and ask the guy about it he admits it and then hangs up on me telling me my car will be fine. Then I go to pick up my car from the dealership and they showed me the nasty mess he left in it from hooking it up! As someone whose family owns a towing company up north, you should be ashamed and out of business! Progressive linked me to this through roadside assistance so I did not get to pick. But I would rather pay out of pocket for a decent company than this nasty mess. Also research his old company as it went under due to business practices. STAY AWAY FROM MAGIC TOWING read more

This company never shows up when they are contacted by roadside through insurance. I was stranded from 9:30pm until 2am when a different tow company agreed to come get me. I put in for a row at 10pm. They said they would arrive around 12:30. I was trying to call no one ever answered phone right to voicemail. So I happen to look up the company then saw all the horrible reviews. After the 12:30 time passed I put in for another tow. The same company picked it up except with a 2:30 expected time. I knew they were never going to show. Called around to 24 hour towing places. One was finally able to come get me. Cost me money out of pocket. But at least I wasn't waiting anymore. The tow driver that did show up explained to me that this company is probably running a scam claiming the show up and still collect around $300 to lie that they were there. This is really pathetic that company would do this to people. read more

Magic towing is a terrible business. Cadillac roadside assistance chose Magic to come and tow my car to the dealership. They were supposed to arrive 11:19, then 12:45, then 1:15, then 1:30, then 1:45, then 2:00, they never came.i called multiple times and someone would answer the phone and then hang up (10 calls). They never came and never called. The only time they answered the phone was the first call and told me they would be here at 12:45. Nothing after that. I later found out Magic Towing llc used be named something else, changed because they were constantly in legal trouble. Same group, same terrible service. read more
