Since Troy Towing hasn't been reviewed and I have an estimated wait time of 30-45 minutes for a tow…read moreI thought I would write their first review. A small collision in the suburbs of Troy. Everyone is safe and that's all that matters. However the aftermath always seems to take so much time and money. Insurance dictated that the towing be under 200$ to be covered. A little crazy since all parties have suggested towing to either a yard or storage. So that's two tow trips and one already costs over 110$ (estimate from Troy Towing). Anyway, I called Troy Towing and they immediately answered which was awesome. They appear to be open 24/7 for all those accident prone people. I can come back to this review once the whole process/experience has been completed. My hope is it doesn't take them 45 minutes to come since they are only 2 miles away... It's 5:50 (called 5:30). Let's see how long they take! :) Update: Well, it took them longer than I expected it to. Pick-up time 6:40pm. Drop off at the collision place 6:50. It was a fairly standard experience. He was fast and it was clear he wanted to jam out of there at the end. Price: 100$ for hook up fee 10$ for mileage 5$ for credit card fee Some dislikes: You get charged 5$ dollars extra if you use your credit card. When the gentlemen says "It'll be 110$ (2.5mi)" and then says "But if you are paying with credit card then it's 115$." Yeah... Not many people carry over 100+ dollars on them in 2017. Also, when I said where I was going to have them deliver they paused and said there was much better. Honestly, there very well could be but the car insurance company gave a list of companies and that's what you go with. They were fine. I hope I never have to call them again but I'm not sure I would given other choices.

They helped me get my Masada to the Troy Motor Mall. Great driver, fast service and very helpful.read more

Byers Wrecker Service - Insert ripped out and bumper hanging off the car

Would never recommend. Police had my car towed here and in 4 days the car wracked up +$500…read more Accident happened over the weekend so no one from insurance was open and I had to wait this long. When I paid and they brought her out she needed a flatbed but they were dragging her causing more damage to the back end. The bumper was still attached but no longer. Carl was the smart guy who did this. When I told him he was scraping the ground he said he wasnt and I asked him how could he not hear the scrapping metal? I could hear it from inside my car. He proceeded to drop the car, call me an idiot, then disappeared. Went to the office to complain and Tiffany made it clear she agreed with him. Amazingly poor service from just dropping 1/2 a grand. Owner came out, blamed it on the original accident and wouldn't do shit or even acknowledge his employees treating a customer and their stuff this way. Avoid at all costs. Their lucrative police contracts mean they get plenty of work and don't care about your stuff at all.

My fiancés car broke down 1/2 of a mile from our home. We called Byers and left his car at the gas…read morestation where it sat for 4 hours prior to being towed, luckily we weren't sitting there waiting and we know the gas station owner personally. Byers charged us $85 for the hook up (fair in comparison to my knowledge of tow rates) and were told it would be $1 per mile after that. Our receipt reflects $6 mileage charge, 6 miles for a 1/2 of a mile tow?? When we called, the receptionist stated our receipt was incorrect and we were charged for "2 miles" the question remains why we were charged for two miles? The icing on the cake, upon arriving home, the tow driver completely missed our driveway. It is small, I will give him that, but our vehicle was parked halfway between our drive way and our home, we had to actually push the car to our driveway. After which, revealed the damage to our lawn (photos attached). Overall, not a pleasant experience and wouldn't recommend them to service anyone, especially during an already stressful time of a break-down or car accident.
