I am speechless. I walked in for a 20 minute chair massage at 5:30 on a saturday. There was no one to greet me until a woman came out yelling in chinese. I signed in and she asked "40 minutes?" And I said 20. She began yelling something in Chinese and had an expression like I was a huge inconvenience and she was miserable to take me. She said "tonmorrow?" And I said "no...I cant have a massage with that negative attitude. I felt creeped out that it was so dark...no one was there...and I seemed to not be the right kind of customer for this woman or establishment on a saturday evening. read more

I got the best massage by Jasmin. I tried the other people, not as good as Jasmin . She gives a great deep massage.I paid 140.00 at Refuge Spa and was disappointed. I am very happy with a hour for 40. plus the 40. tip. I end up paying a 80 for a great massage . If you want a great massage see Jasmin , You wont be sorry. read more

Excellent value. I've been here several times and it is truly the best massage for the amount. Only $22 per half hour or $35 for a full hour. There use to be a language barrier but more recently they hired multilingual employees. The strength of the massage really varies by masseuse, however they have always done at least an above average job . The location is clean and tranquil. Although they were open on July 4th and very accommodating without an appointment, they took more money for tip. I used my debit card and signed $8 for a tip -- they changed it and made it $10. Please be sure to check your bank accounts if using a debit card, pay cash, or don't go here at all. They did not instruct me what to do prior to massage, and the pressure was too hard and painful even though I asked for Medium. I walked out - I came in for my appointment and after starting a few minutes into it he had to stop and answer a phone call. another 5 minutes into it - a customer walks in and he tends to him. who does that??? horrible - i think he just gave me more knots from being so annoyed! read more

Price is more then fair. I'd pay abit more if the acoustics were better for the " relaxation". Front door open a little allowing to hear some commotion outside. For me I want the hour to melt away quiet and subdued while my toes and feet are being worked on read more

Hard to find a one hour massage for $35. Worth the $35, but don't expect to be able to communicate with your MT - or have them listen to what you need / want. They did do the full hour, but I asked for a firm / strong massage and that I needed to target my neck and shoulder tension. Ended up with a full body/mild to medium pressure massage even tho I told him it was ok to go stronger several times. Then... As I was paying he tried to tell me what I should tip him! Went here for the first time on a Tuesday at 9:10pm. They accommodated me and I wrote what service I wanted and how long. The lady in the front went to set up and asked a young girl to service me. They were speaking in Chinese but from the hand signals, I could tell the front lady was telling the girl where to massage first. Great, I got a newbie, so I knew it wasn't going to be good, especially when she's asking what to massage. Well I laid down, and yup, as I suspected, it sucked. She literally just rubbed lotion on me, even when I asked to go stronger. She also wasn't consistent, she would massage certain areas on the left side then completely not massage the adjacent area on the right. She didn't even apply lotion when she massaged my arms, so she was like tugging onto my skin. She massaged my feet, again, super light. And to be surprise, a back massage was not included here. I guess I've been spoiled in San Jose since it's $20 but includes EVERYTHING. Oh well, an extra star for being open late in Gilroy. Perhaps I'll try to go again but ask for someone else, I'll update my review then. read more

Honestly, I'd like to give them 4 or 5 stars because of the following: 1) they got me in immediately for a 60 minute massage 2) I have family members that go here and they love it 3) It was quiet, clean, and peaceful 4) I really did get an awesome massage. As someone who tries to go for full body massages at least every 6-8 weeks at a day spa PLUS 1 every 3-4 weeks at a similar place to this one, I know a bad massage from a good one and this one was great! However, when I went to pay, I gave my card to pay the $40 fee and then had $5 to tip in cash. All of sudden the woman was very rude to me, laughed sarcastically at my tip and said it's not enough. I explained a tip is what the customer wants to offer and that because the massage was very good, I would turn into a repeat customer but not if that is the way they act. I hope someone explains to the staff that a TIP is not guaranteed nor is the amount. It's not my job to know how much their hourly pay is nor if they are relying on tips. I'd rather they up the price to $50, as the massage was worth it, and let the masseuse keep the $10. I'm still pretty mad so while I'd like to return, it's going to be long time before I do so they lost out on more money due to my $5 tip! read more

Oh my gosh. Awful place. Made an appt with a friend a WEEK in advance. They started me 20 minutes after her because no one was free for me. They kept talking and answering phones during massage, or walking out of the room. My friend was getting her feet massaged with one hand while the lady was on the phone at the same time. So ridiculous. Since my friend was started before me, she had to wait 20 minutes in her car for me to be done. The massage for both of us was terrible, not relaxing at all. They didn't massage any deep tissue spots or pressure points of any sort. It was more like repetitive motions over one spot, where it gets irritating. And tons of lotion/oil where it felt so sloppy. I couldnt wait to get home to shower. Read all the negative reviews here, they are so accurate. Do not go here. read more

I'm saddened to give this business one star. It used to be my favorite place for a combo (feet/body) massage. I never minded limited language skills. Place is clean and relaxing. The massage has always been consistent between practitioners -man or woman, young or old. This week was the worst, most painful, inconsistent massage I ever had in 40 years. I should have refused to pay. The woman "H" hardly touched my feet during foot time. She continuously rubbed my shins for 20 of the 30 minutes. Never touched my toes. Barely touched my feet and not all aspects. The soak water was first brought to me cold. The body portion was unbalanced, neglectful and painful. She hardly massaged muscles and repeatedly and forceably rubbed my mid-upper bony spine where it curves out with her forearm. I'm still in pain and wonder if it's visibly bruised (will have someone check) but it is absolutely internally bruised. I waited for focus to other areas... back or arms, legs, head, neck, shoulder or hips but it only came sporatically. Never touched my arms. Then she stopped. Done. After, I sai I wanted a chair massage from another person since my muscles were totally neglected. She had no comment but to say it will cost more, which I paid. No apology. The other person knew what they were doing. Also, over the years I've been a customer, have many signed (buy 10 get one free) cards from this business and when I mentioned having one validated they told me they were new management and don't do that. Really? I question if "H" (Helen?) is even licensed to practice. I'm considering following up with a regulatory agency. I would not recommend this business any more. Too bad. If I could give it 0 I would! Worst experience I've ever had with any massage place! Came here because other friends said it was the best in Gilroy.. Apparently I got the short end of the stick. Walking in everything looked great. Very relaxing and calming. Too bad the first person to acknowledge me was another guest (also his first time).. Not an employee! After an employee finally approached me I filled out the check in sheet and requested firm pressure on the form. The whole massage was rushed.. I paid for an hour.. Was only there for 40 minutes from walking in to walking out (mind you I waited a few min before talking to anyone and then filling the check in form, talkin to the employee and then the actual massage.. 40 minutes. The lady doing it could care less about my experience she was more involved in her conversation with other employees in her native language (probably why it took so long for someone to approach me when I walked in). I felt like I was an inconvenience to her the whole time. I laid there feeling like I was being petted as you would pet your cat. I asked her not once, not twice but FOUR times to be more firm.. No change at all. She never even touched my neck or shoulder area! I can't believe I spent my money here it was absolutely HORRIBLE!!!!! Then I went to the website hoping to email them discretely about my awful experience (not a big yelper) and there's nothing! It's one page with some pictures and a quote that says "your satisfaction is our goal". I would have been more satisfied with a toddler massaging me than this lady. And then at the end.. She was no where to be found! (probably in the back still continuing her conversation). Again not asked how the experience went. The lady at the counter was more concerned about taking my money and whether or not I was going to leave a tip (yes I left a tip but it wasn't deserved) bottom line I won't come back and would be more than happy to give my money to ANYONE else read more

Place was loud and couldn't really relax to much noise. I walked in and signed in for me and my husband to both get full body massages for an hour each, my massage was only 30 mins and my husband got the full hour. Place seems like kinda iffy don't think I will be going back. read more

I found the atmosphere very tranquil and comfortable. The foot massage was extremely thorough--just like ones i have had in Shanghai and Beijing. It was peaceful and professional and a fully enjoyable experience. I have returned twice since my first visit. As a tennis player, the foot massage helps me keep able to play at full speed with no nagging soreness or stiffness. read more

The definition of two star is "Meh. I've experienced better." Well I tried it, twice. First time I dropped in for a foot massage. No one was in the foot massage area but they said 10 minutes. Twenty minutes later they started on me. This was the first foot massage place where I in a reclining chair I was never asked to turn over. So I decided to add on a chair massage to get my backside rubbed. Both were Meh. Second time I went back for a full body massage. Now maybe it is just me, but in my mind I have a front side and a back side. So I should be asked to be turned over. Never happened. One hour on my stomach, which would have been nice had I wanted a back massage vs. full body massage. They should rename it The 50% massage because it is that in many ways. At some point a good price does make a difference, and in my mind I overpaid for the quality. Another thing that bothers me in some of these places (it did in Magic Touch Relaxation) is that the room is too darn cold! I understand it is expensive to heat, but how about just one space heater next to me in the empty room? My muscles never really loosened up because they didn't hold any heat with the massage in a big cold room. read more

I really enjoy this place. Have received a few massages from here and they have been really wonderful, yet today I received the worst massage. Very in professional and never asked if I was okay once during the massage. This is the 4th different person and when I schedule an appointment I never get whom I ask for.
