The idea of the spa membership package is what initially sold me on this location. I signed up for the membership package that included a +1 and proceeded to book my appointment with the receptionist. I'm not sure what her name was but she was very unfriendly and did not offer great customer service. At the time of the appointment it must've been the same lady I spoke with on the phone as she was also very rude. Onto the massage, the ambience was very nice and clean but the massage therapist were lackluster. They didn't check in on the pressure of the massage and also didn't remain consistent with the pressure throughout. Also they used their elbows when I booked a relaxation massage and this was not very "relaxing". I gave it a few days to think on the quality of massage but I ended up canceling my membership. I had SUCH an amazing experience as this Spa. I'm visiting from out of town and thought I would get pampered for my birthday. I was greeted at the start by a lovely receptionist. I used the restroom which was so beautiful and clean, lots of disposable toiletries available for use. My first service was a 60 minute massage with Erika. She was very kind and applied the perfect amount of pressure (medium as requested) and she checked in with me throughout the service. I then had a 60 minute facial with Kate. She was also very friendly and informative during my skin analysis and consultation. The facial itself felt wonderful and was relaxing for me. This was my first facial in 6 years but I trusted her with my skin and she did not disappoint! I left the spa glowing and relaxed. I called to make an appointment, but no one answered. Eventually, someone from Darya Spa texted me and helped me schedule an appointment. I was able to take advantage of their new customer special - 40% off. Of course I had to book a 2 hour massage, it was only $99!!!! A week or two before my appointment, they called to let me know there was a scheduling issue, and that they needed to reschedule me for another date/time and for a shorter appointment. I was fine rescheduling to another date/time, but was set on the 2 hour massage. They came back to me and said they'd be able to accommodate my original appointment after all. Thank goodness! However, a couple days before my appointment, they called again saying there was a schedule issue. After going through the situation again, they were still able to honor my original appointment. Again, thank goodness. I arrived 10-15 minutes prior to my appoint to fill out the necessary paperwork (they texted the forms to me and I was able to complete online). The spa is beautiful! Clean, modern, beautifully decorated, quiet... honestly, I kind of wish they also offered mani/pedis, facials, maybe a sauna. I could definitely see myself spending a me-day there to relax. My massage was very relaxing! The massage table was comfortable, the room was set at a good temperature... Before leaving they gave me a welcome gift. Such a nice surprise! I love the high tech scanner that shows all the areas that the skin can benefit, Kate was so knowledgeable and sweet, very good at explaining the process! the facial itself was so relaxing I fall asleep! Very professional and clean. I got a one-hour hot stone couples' massage, which was amazing. They know their job, which is about treating you the way you like. The vibe is nice and calming. It's a modern place, so, if you like a hipster massage place, this place might not be a good fit. They started with greeting us and asked us about where they should focus on. And, I appreciated the conversation and they way they personalized the experience. They used various types of scents, warm towels etc that made the experience more special. The front desk was very helpful in accommodating me quickly despite being booked for a few weeks. My therapist spent 45 minutes on my calf, foot, and hamstrings and used a specific lotion that helped reduce the pain during the session. Aimee was very attentive, and I chose a dynamic session (yes, you can even select whether you prefer the therapist to chat with you or not). She took the time to learn any specific areas of tension before the massage. She is a great therapist and knows the anatomy of the body! The spa itself is modern and luxurious and has a welcoming ambiance. Each room has a fancy sink. Despite being in a highly noisy area, I couldn't hear anything but the calming music during the session. After the massage, I was offered a hot towel with a Lavender smell! Loved it! I had a massage with Aimee and it was one of the best I have had. She listened to me and worked the areas I needed work on! When I got there, I used the restroom - that was my first impression of this new gem! Automatic seat raised, and the seat was heated! I thought - Wow! this is going to be good!! The areas are all clean, and comfortable. If there was one thing to note, it would be there are no showers. So you may want to plan to go home to shower before heading to the store, etc. But that is minor - I got a heated towel to wipe off and bottled water. I have a massage therapist that comes to my house. I LOVE her. She gives me the best massage EVER. But there are advantages to a nearby spa and a professional environment. This place is quiet, soothing and immaculate. (Parking space is good--right by the UPS store in the Tennant and Monterey shopping center (Nob Hill, B of A, McD's etc.) . The price is reasonable. The amenities are STELLAR: spacious rooms, discreet areas for your own articles and clothing, heated massage table, and throughout the experience, warm wraps for the neck, torso, back. legs, etc. After each body part was worked, a warm, damp towel was used to clean off the excess oil/cream and the heated wrap applied. At the end of the massage, I asked the therapist to hand me my socks so I wouldn't track slippery product all over the place, but she put my socks ON ME. AAAaaaWWWWWwww... ... ...She placed a bottle of water near my clothing and waited outside until I dressed and exited, then walked me to the bathroom. Best of all, "Erika" was very quiet and gave me what I wanted--a "firm" pressure and NO chatting. When I did speak to her, she whispered in reply and would say, "Of course... ... ..." in a calm and soothing tone. She is petite in stature as well as build, but VERY strong. I think she would do a great "deep tissue" or a "sports massage" as well as the "relaxing" treatment I requested. Usually, I give any therapist a second session before evaluating their skill or intuitiveness, because doing body work with someone is a process, and it's only as good as the BOTH of you can communicate. But I am confident in saying that she is gifted and willing to tailor the experience to your needs. read more
