All the ladies who work here are amazing!!! My daughter had a severe case & I had a moderate one. We followed all the directions, had 3 treatments and the last check. We started on a Tuesday and were lice free the following Monday. I didn't want to risk doing it on my own and missing a lice or an egg and have to go through this again. Each time they were so kind and so thorough. At first I was bummed it would take a week to get rid of them but after learning about how they reproduce and how small the eggs are, it totally makes sense. Look, we came and had so much lice is it was mortifying. We left and had fewer lice. We did all the subsequent treatments ourselves and the lice were gone after to more treatments. My mom has been flipping out for a month because a letter was sent home to her from my nephew's preschool saying there was a lice breakout. Then she got a second note from the school last week and she was really going crazy, convinced she had lice and it was seriously stressing her out. I checked her hair multiple times and didn't see anything but she was convinced she felt lice crawling on her head. She was visiting me today and this place is near my house so I called them for her and asked about their services and the woman I spoke to was incredibly nice, very friendly and very informative. She wasn't vague about pricing, which was a pleasant surprise, and the prices are very fair. So my mom just got back from her appointment and she's practically glowing, she feels so much better. Turns out she doesn't have any lice! The lady at the salon was super nice to her and gave her helpful information and was very very thorough with her inspection. I'm particularly impressed that they were honest with her, it would have been so easy for them to take advantage of my mother to make more money and they didn't. This place was awesome. After a classroom outbreak, we found a few lice on my daughters head at 9pm on a Saturday. I panicked and used over-the-counter NIX which did nothing. Sadly we have first-hand experience with this place but I couldn't have been more pleased with their services! My girls has bad cases of lice and the crew here took great care of us. I was extremely happy with the services provided at Magic Nit Pick. Lucy, the owner, was extremely sweet and amazingly thorough - removing every single lice egg, baby and adult from my son's scalp. I recently received a letter from my son's school that there would be a routine annual head lice inspection performed on all of the students. My son has been attending the same school since preschool (he is now in 5th grade) and these inspections have taken place every year and performed by various companies that specialize in head lice detection and removal. My daughter had lice check at her school and was told by a "professional lice checker" that she had lice. After the 4th time this has happened by this company, I knew I needed a second opinion. My daughter is mixed and has thick thick hair. Lots of conditioner and products are in her hair to manage control. Lucy looked through her hair found no signs of lice. I handed her the "lice" sample taken from my daughters hair that the other company taped to their card. Lucy put it under the light and said. "This is not lice, it's dandruff, do you want to see what it really looks like?" I politely declined. What a relief. I was so worried to even let Lucy know in the beginning why I was coming. I had to wait two weeks before writing this review because I went a bit lice crazy... Magic Nit Pick helped me not lose my sanity. I contacted them after finding lice eggs in my own hair after I already treated my 13 year old (with RID which does not work all the time, btw) who caught it at school. (Apparently, according to the LA Times, there is currently a lice epidemic caused by teens taking too many selfies! lol) Anyway, I contacted Magic Nit Pick, who I found on Yelp, and Lucy got back to me right away. Lucy accommodated my daughters and me with an appointment later that day. We arrived and were greeted by Nora (who is my angel). She was comforting and understanding, and totally helped me not lose my mind completely. (I had not slept for more than 24 hours at this point because I was worrying about little bugs crawling through my head.) She checked both of my daughters and myself, and treated only my oldest daughter and me. She showed us what she found (which thankfully wasn't too much. Nora was a sweetheart, caring, honest, and genuine. She taught us so much that day about lice, how to protect ourselves, and that this happens to everyone. I also appreciated that they have toys and a play area to keep the little ones entertained, which was great for my 4 year old. We left that day spending about $275.00, which paid for two treatments, an additional lice check for my little girl, a Nit Free lice repellant spray, a bottle of lice home treatment, and a stainless steel nit removal comb, not to mention, my sanity. I believe this was not much to pay for the services and products we received. I called the number I had on the card the next day to confirm my follow-up appointments and spoke with Lucy for a few minutes. Lucy was very knowledgeable and also very sweet. She answered all my questions without sounding annoyed or exasperated. I appreciated that very much. We returned for our follow-ups, and I had a second treatment done just to be safe. Nora was so confident in her work that she gave me a hug. She's great. I am so thankful to have found Magic Nit Pick. No one at home would have been able to do for me what they did for me. I've been to a few different lice removal places over the years with my two daughters and I always found them impersonal and a little depressing - not because of the subject matter but because of the atmosphere and people working there.
