I have visited this nail shop before in the past, but today.... was literally a Friday 13th experience. I WILL NOT RETURN!!!! When I arrived the workers were verbally fighting. One lady bagged her stuff and took her carts and 2 other workers stepped in to diffuse the situation- meanwhile I'm just waiting with others. Finally, I get a seat as I took my keys out to leave, which I should have done! I gave the older lady my bag with my OWN tools to use (I don't play with dirty tools) and she said she can't use them after removing the polish off, left me in the foot tub and went to someone else. I had to ask her was she going to finish and a younger worker translated, she said she can't/wont use your tools. Meanwhile she didn't clean hers before she started on another lady! I'm not sure I'm a fan. The facility is nice and clean. They were able to fit me into their schedule, AND they do take cash. My regular manicurist does not! However, the tips are falling off after only two weeks. Yes, I have very soft nails. Of course, soaking the other tips off is not so easy. I wish it was. Before I left one of the male technicians followed me to my car and when I pulled off walked back in. Even after I paid for my service. Very customer this day had been unsatisfied and even arguing with employees. I asked for a simple overlay on my toe, particularly my big toes. She told me she could do it, but then when it was time she told me no. Then when I asked only want one big toe done she said no it wouldn't look right because it'll be too thick and they wouldn't be similar to the other toe so I told her I wanted it done thin. She still told me no so when I told her I didn't want any more service she agreed to do it and then I still proceed to tell her no go to the register and they charge me $35. Another nail technician said she could do my nails. I asked for my natural nails done and to clip them down to keep them short and square she also told me no And that they were too short to keep square. read more

I got a mani-pedi on 4/13/23. I woke up to an itch in the nail of my big toe. When I removed my polish,I had TOENAIL FUNGUS IN BOTH BIG TOES! The nails were separating lifting off the nail beds!!! The place appeared clean as this is the new location with new modern fixtures. I'd been to the old location several times and had never experienced problems. Now I have to buy medicine to treat this,!!! I won't give this place a second chance!!! Wondering what to do. read more

I had a dentist appt so I went there which was right next door. I needed a eyebrow tint which they charge $30. She put the tint on; didn't even keep it on for 1 minute! The greys were still showing the next day. They are horrible! Never again! read more

Most of the Staff is rude and disregard customer..avoid place go where your black dollar is valued and not tolerated..this lady couldn't understand me telling her she is put polish on to thick and got an attitude..so The manager had to polish my feet ...won't be returning to establishment read more

Yeah so I am from the Burbs...right, right. The nails shops in the Burbs are pretty spacious and far in between for a good shop but none I have gone to do any free-hand designs and if they do its like 15.00 a freaking nail...WTF is that?! So we visit the southside alot cause...shit thats where he is from and all his family is there, duh. So while he ran to do his round of visits I decided I was going to get my nails done....hell its the hood and I know they got specials! So I went here Magic Nails and it was packed but luckily enough it didn't take but around 5 minutes before another booth was open. So I sat the lady was really nice who did my nails and when I asked for the same mask she wears so I won't be exposed to the shavings of my nails she gladly handed me one....maybe she smelled burbs all over me....???? The nails were done in a very short time and just as I requested them without me having to interrupt because something hurt or she narrowed the nail too much......perfect for 15.00 and 2.00 for my hand art design :) RECOMMENDED....Don't let the area fool you its true gems in the south too read more

I frequent this establishment for manis and pedis only. The quality depends on who completes your services but if you are not happy with your technicians skills, they will gladly switch them around to accommodate you. If you want your "husk" shaved, be sure to ask for a new blade. The colors are OK but sometimes I bring my own polish because it lasts longer (OPI). The prices are comparable and the pedi chairs are to die for!!!! Sometime when I have had a stressful day, I go in just for the chairs. I have had lashes put on before for $25(could barely sleep in them because my eyes couldn't adjust) and have gotten my brows waxed for $8 (prefer to pluck them at home). I would not to back to Magic Nails after going almost religiously every 2 weeks for 3 year getting gel nails and pedicures - and, I never went anywhere else during those 3 years. Fom my experiences at Magic Nails, I do not believe they sterilize their equipment enough nor disinfect the pipes in the spas they use for pedicures - at least, certainly, - not thoroughly. I believe the highly contagious, severe case of the fungi infection I contracted was a direct result of going to Magic Nails. I began getting my nails done at Magic Nails in 2009. Although it took a while, I finally had identified 2 people who did my manis and pedis the way I wanted. Helen is absolutely superb when it comes to pedicures. Nancy is good - when she's not being a bitch. But, I noticed every time I went back for a pedicure, my feet had more dry skin than the previous 2 weeks. And, the problem was beginning on my finger tips right behind the nails. I asked my doctor about this - not imagining it had anything to do with where I was getting my nails done. But, IT DID! Magic Nails is the ONLY place I have gone since 2009. And my doctor told me I had the worst case of Athletes' Foot she had ever seen. I went to another pedicurist who told me that happens when the pedi tubs are only wiped out and the pipes are not sanitized. I have been away from Magic Nails for 3 weeks now, and the Athletes' Foot already has already begun to reverse. Magic Nails needs to follow proper legal requirements and disinfect their pipes and their tubs before they contaminate others and spread this highly contagious Fungi infection. I have been there at closing time and seen how they clean. All they do is wipe out the tubs with a damp sponge and a squirt of 409. I have a feeling the legal requirement states they are to disinfect - not just wipe down. I don't know how many of their customers have also ontracted Athlete's Foot, but everybody should be wary because if the pipes are not flushed out and disinfected thoroughly, I believe there could be a huge outbreak of this highly contagious infection. Not did the infection get transferred to my hands, but also my lips. If I had small children I picked up or touched an ill person such as my Mom who recently passed, there might be even life-threatening consequences. Remember: dry skin is one thing. The scaling, peeling, itching - now that is something else. And, it has happened to me only once in my life - after getting my pedicures at Magic Nails. read more

The salon is in the right space with the wrong staff. I will say I had the best foot rub by a tall built Asian man... awesome. My full set was terrible and the nails popped off the next day. I do not get tips and get OVERLAY. He didn't know what it was. My pedicure was great except literally 2 days later my left big toe became infected. Yes! The corners turned black and I had to cut that open and scrap out the gunk ( graphic I know ). It took a good 2 months before my toe showed improvement. I'll take my dinero and the drive to Ford City or the burbs if I need to. read more

Salon has been there for a while, one of the few salons that I can actually see sanitize the instruments that they use for pedicure's. Haven't had a pedicure yet, will write a review once I do. I will say the first two nail tech's sitting in front to the right of the entrance are very good with gel overlays, no matter how long or how short your overlay will be perfect, powder isn't applied very thick. I am glad that I have finally found a nail tech after years of searching. read more

The prices are cheap here but of course they are cheap for a reason. There is one Asian man (not the owner that sits at the door) that works here that is the biggest jerk I have ever met at a salon ! I avoid him at all cost, please if you go to Magic Nails please avoid this man! I have had several bad experiences with him and every time he has gotten up (once even threw the nail file at me) and just stopped doing my nails ! I don't understand why you would have such a terrible attitude when someone tells you that you're doing their nails wrong! And, he is not very skilled at all.
