I purchased a brand new home built by excalibur. I voiced a legitimate issue with my home within…read morethe 1 year parameter of my home's warranty, and they denied accountability completely. The flashing on my home was partially dug into the fill dirt surrounding my foundation. When I dug this dirt out to install a French drain, the metal flashing was found rotted at the level of the dirt. They did come out and cut the flashing above the level of the rot, but it is not uniform with the circumference of my home. Thusly, it looks unsightly and unprofessional. I am complacent with giving one star, because I have not yet had any other issues, but it's saddening to have been through this; they simply do not care about their customers.

This was the worst experience I have ever had. He changed his price from our verbal agreement when…read moreI asked for a written estimate, increasing it by $1000. He argued about decisions and was rude, thinking he was making jokes. He asked me to do some of the work (carpentry). He sealed my back windows shut and argued that we shouldn't use them because they look ugly. He didn't fix them very well after he cut them back open. He only works 5 hours a day, if that. A job that could have taken a few weeks took over a month. He was very messy, leaving his stuff everywhere and paint splatters were minimally cleaned up. He left all his garbage and empty paint cans after he said he would return and clean them up. He did not do a final touch up. He inflated his materials price for repair supplies. After everything I realized he didn't paint my house the color I asked for. As for quality, most of the prep work was decent, most of the paint work was decent, but the minimal carpentry required was ugly and some caulking was missed under one window sill. In the end he asked me what I wanted touched up. I didn't want another battle so I told him "nothing". This is not an experience I would like to repeat.

Jeff and his crew have done work on our roof twice now and we couldn't be happier…read more The first repair was to my studio roof which is a separate roof attached to the main house. It had leaked so badly the ceiling was ruined and there was a small pond on the floor. He quickly identified the problem, and was back within a few days and had the job done in HOURS! We've had no problems since. The second repair was to the main roof. Again, he carefully identified the problems, explained what he would do and why and gave us a good quote. The job, however, turned out to be a bit more than anticipated as the damage was more severe than he had expected. It still took only 3 1/2 days to complete and came in about $1200 over the original quote. It turned out we needed way more insulation and there were rotten timbers under the trim that had to be removed and replaced. He saved us a bunch of money when he found a local lumber supply company about to throw out some metal trim that just happened to match our roof. YAY! So it only cost us the labor to install it. His crew worked HARD. On the 3 full days they worked right up until dark after starting at 7:30A.M.. They cleaned up everything once they were done. They were courteous and professional. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Knutson Roofing except that if you need roof work done, you can't go wrong calling on Jeff and his crew!
