I took my dog for a nail trim and to trim the hair under his paws. They only did the front paws. I brought him back to finish and they said he should be bathed to get a better trim of the fur under his paws. They shaved his belly and it is bright red and inflamed and now it has turned dark in spots. I don't know what they did to my dog. I saw a couple of guys who came out of the back and they were very unfriendly and stared in an uncomfortable manner. I have never in my life had a groomer harm my dog. Now I see multiple reviews that say the same thing. I brought him back today so they could see his belly and all of the red and now dark brown spots. She said it is normal. I am so scared for my dog. Absolutely disgusted with the new management. I have taken my dog there plenty of times and even boarded her here. This time they denied my dog from being able to stay at their facility because she has a LIMP. She has a neurological issue (non contagious, needs no different attention than any other animal). I was boarding my flight when the manager called me to pick up my "animal" or she would be left outside. I have never experienced such terrible service and absolute inconvenience. STAY AWAY! I took my mini Golden Doodle to Magic Grooming this Monday and today (Thursday) Bowie woke up shaking and could hardly walk. I took him to the vet and ended up paying a $314 bill to fight off an infection from a terrible grooming experience. Bowie developed a large sore and infected wound from the grooming. When I called they told me "well, that's what happens when your dog is matted". So now my dog has a cone for two weeks, needs to take two different pills 2x a day, and I have to apply a cream two times a day for a week. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more

We LOVE Magic Grooming and Pet Resort!! We have been taking our golden-doodle puppy, Archie, here for daycare for about 3 months now. They take such great care of him, and he is so excited to run in every morning to play with the other pups! I feel so comfortable leaving him with their caring staff. They are so professional and thoughtful. He comes home every day exhausted from playing. They feed him, take him outside to go potty, and occasionally bathe/brush him! This is much more affordable than a dog walker, and our puppy is being socialized and exercised ALL DAY! The facility is incredibly clean as well. Archie has had no issues with bumps, bruises, bites, or sniffles from being around other dogs all day, and no issues when they groom him either. He comes home a soft, sweet smelling fluff ball with neatly trimmed nails after a bath day, with an adorable bandanna to boot! I cannot recommend this business enough! Affordable prices, friendly/professional/caring staff, a stimulating environment, and very convenient hours. Made at appointment for 9:00 am showed up at 8:45 am as I was told if I did that he would be the first dog. They told me he would be ready by 12:00 or before. At 12:15pm they called me to tell me they were running late and he wouldn't be ready until 1:30pm. When I arrived to the location they told me to bring him back during the week because they could get two knots out. The haircut was bad not what I asked for and the dog was stressed out. Not what I have experienced at other grooming places. Also when they called initially they told her not in a crate but in the patio outside! My dog is kitten and outside did. When I asked then why he would be outside they retracted and said he was not and that they were playing with him the entire time. I would never trust this establishment with my dog again. read more

This review as long overdue as I've been taking my poodle to Majic Grooming Pet Salon for several years. My dog has extreme anxiety, he tends to shiver when he's in a new environment but once I bring him in he's very calm which puts my mind at ease. Of course the first few times he was nervous because he wasn't sure of the environment but after that he was calm and that's how I know they take good care of him. They always give an outstanding hair cut, I always purchase the total package because they take care of it all and the price is reasonable. They give a bath, cut, nail trim and behind cleaning. I've also purchase their deep teeth cleaning, they do an outstanding job and they do not use anesthesia (most places do). After taking my dog here more than a dozen times I have never once had a negative concern or incident. My only recommendation is to make an appointment so they get it done right away, and that way your dog isn't waiting in their room. My dog has anxiety so I try to make sure he is in and out as quickly as possible. read more

Took Miss. Trixi to Magic Groomers for dental cleaning and we are very pleased. We decided to get her a bath and a few add-ons, (reasonably priced). Not only did her teeth look great but she smells lovely too. She wasn't exhausted from stress like she usually is when she goes to the groomers. Also, they took her at the last minute. First of all this place have no costumer service at all. My first and last time taking my dog there and highly recommend you to be careful where are you taking your pet ,because this place can harm your pet! They returned my dog with red spots on her body ,specially her neck and with cuts on her paws. Seems like they chocked her and burn her skin with some chemicals , blower or hat water or who knows what. I took my Maltipoo Coconut in here today after it being the second place I tried getting him a haircut at with him having high anxiety and matted hair. His anxiety can make him aggressive. I've had this issue since I got him and I've learned to love him anyway. He's my baby. I was very pleased with their service and care. They definitely did everything they could do to accommodate him. Magic Groomers broke my Maltese's rib while grooming her. As a result of the hole in her skin from the broken rib cut, she got pneuo-thorax and I had to rush her to the Hollywood Animal Hospital at midnight a few days after the grooming. Because of all this she died after the vet hospital needed to give her anesthesia to try to do Surgery to tie up the rib. She went into Cardiac Arrest. Magic Groomers would not take responsibility for anything. This all happened back in 2006 and now I want to share this true story with you all. I did not know til today I could post a review. THIS PLACE DESERVES 0 STARS!!! They cut my cats nails some too short, others raggedy an some not at all! they don't speak English well and still proceeded to interrupt my requests, disregarding the fact that I was back 15 minutes later from the first failed trim. The lady tells me well the doctor isn't say to file or smooth them down, only cut them????They took him back and I KNOW FOR A FACT I heard my cat scream. They bring him out and tell me he was antsy this time ???? I've ALWAYS gotten compliments about how nice and calm my cat is , one an two, they didn't say that until I had to bring him back because they messed up. Then I go to look at his nails and there are MORE that they even stated themselves they "cut too short" (which caused bleeding). This place is not what it used to be, at one time they were a top-notch grooming location but now the owners have empowered the employees to make all decisions in their business which is reckless. Be very careful, they will quote you a price, then they will charge you a lot more money to remove hair knots. They do not want to do the work, in order to remove the knots and not charge you is shaving the hair off. They overcharged my 86-year-old mother by 30% who is a widow with little resources!! We must always try to get something in writing before committing our dogs to these establishments. read more

Please do not ever take your pets here!!, my dog would always come back with cuts and nicks on her, and I would assume it my dog, until recently the last time I took her here they cut her that's a little piece of her skin came out. The first time I thought anyone can make a mistake, but what now?! If they can't take care of my dog for 5 minutes, I don't even want to know what would happen if he'd stay for a weekend. I have been waiting, not so patiently, to receive the fungal culture results from my vet before I contacted Magic Pet Grooming because I did not want to jump to conclusions. Now, however, it is clear what my 11 year old indoor cat, Frasier, contracted from this facility while being groomed on May 30, 2014, because he has passed it on to ME! Frasier has RINGWORM from this place!!! They held him from 8am-1pm on Saturday. A few days after, he started showing dark scabs. He's always had dry skin, so I didn't think much of it. A few days later, the dark spots got black and looked like black ash and his hair fell out of those spots. I took him to the vet over the course of the next 3 weeks. A fungal culture takes 2-3 weeks, so the doctor started him on allergy and anti-bacterial medication because his spots were raw from being licked and scratched. I bought him a cone in order to stop him from licking and scratching his wounds. He can barely use the litter box or eat with it on, so it has been such a struggle to leave him alone with the cone on. The vet instructed me to bath him 3-4 times a week with an anti-septic shampoo. Bath.... a 15 lbs cat.... 3-4 times a week. Those days have become my nightmare. I thought "this is the worst thing", but I was wrong. I developed 4 ringworm lesions on my body a week ago from being in close contact with him while bathing him. I HAVE RINGWORM!!!! do you understand how disgusting that is????!!!!! I paid $80 to contract ringworm from a dirty groomer and now I have to pay over $400 in vet bills, spend hours bathing a cat that wants nothing more than to claw my face off when I put him in the bathtub, and spend money on medication to get rid of the FUNGUS you infected BOTH OF US WITH!!! I have two other cats that I've had to completely isolate from myself and Frasier. my poor baby has been walking around with a damn cone on his head to stop him from ripping his skin open. This is a nightmare. He is an old cat and doesn't deserve this. He PEED himself from anxiety and fear as I bathed him yesterday. My heart broke. Ringworm for humans is different than for cats. They have it in their hair and the spores, as you can imagine, travel as far and wide as cat hair does. It is in my AC ducts, my AC filter, couch, pillows, bed. You name it, I've had to bleach it or throw it away. His "bath" consists of ONE bath with an anti-bacterial shampoo to get the oils off his hair, followed by a LIME DIP thats basically just sulfur and smells like rotting eggs. It also stains EVERYTHING including cement and my cat. EVERYDAY i have to vacuum, wipe my walls, floor, tables, chairs, kitchen, bedroom EVERYTHING with 10% diluted bleach. EVERYDAY i have to wash my sheets and bedding as well as the towels I use to bath him. Save yourself the money, heartache, and FUNGUS infection. I've been boarding my dog here since October 2014. Never felt very comfortable with the idea, but price wise and convenient location, it was my best option. The first few times where OK. He came back and everything seemed fine. This year (2015) I had to leave him there for short periods of time -2 to 3 days- first time (April) he came back with a tick. I thought that was normal since it's a place for dogs. 2nd time (June) came back with another tick. That just wasn't random, but again, I said nothing. Third time (July) came back with 3 ticks and a problem on his tail. I called them, told them my concern and they offered me a bath. Of course I don't want my dog to be near that place again. Also, I started to think they my never asked for his medical records either and that makes me think that animals there can spread any disease around. Took my little spitfire, Harry, in to have his nails clipped and his ears cleaned today. Any normal cat, I would do this myself, and do so with my two other boys, but Harry is a tiger when it comes to personal grooming. He does not like having Q tips inserted into his ears and he rebels against having clippers near his nails. So I needed help. I live just down the road from Magic Pet Grooming so I brought Harry in, mewing pitifully. The gentleman and I did it together basically, He cleaned the ears and I held El Squirmo, and then I held him again while his nails were clipped. It all went very well, and Harry is even speaking to me this evening. Total cost was $15. The groomer sold me a bottle of ear mite killer for $22, which I found later online for $11, a bit of a hefty markup. All in all $37, and a happy little guy here who isn't scratching his ears any more. I'll bring him back in a month for $15, but I won't be purchasing any more product from them! Other than that I am totally satisfied, so 4 stars. read more

First, to be fair, the staff are very friendly, location is good (though it's weird that you can only walk in a small room in the front and cannot see the grooming area. that's concerning). I've heard from personal friends about their boarding - would never take my dog to a place where they store them all day in cages. This place does practice the miami shuffle with their pricing. They publicly post their price list online which clearly says a bath for a small dog is $35 (SM 0-23 lbs). When I got there, I was told my 15 pound dog had to have the $55 sanitary grooming for a medium dog (23-44 lbs) because of the length of his hair. They said they don't brush out for the $35 (stated on their website as "Brush & Blow Dry"). When I pointed out their website clearly says $35 for a standard bath, brush, dry, nails, ears and anal expression for a small dog, the response was "yeah, we know. We have been trying to update the website". Well, until they figure out their technical problems, they are violating the law with false advertising. Legally, they have to honor their advertised prices but whatever, this is Miami and this is how businesses operate. So, I'm washing my dog today. read more

Don't use Magic Grooming in North Bay Village.. My thought for today; We are imperfect creatures living in an imperfect world getting on each other's nerves.. In December 2020, I took my babies (my dogs) to the groomer. Same groomer I've taken 4 generations of my dogs to for almost two decades.. The owner was friends with my late mom, He went to the same church as her, the owner even went to my moms funeral. Well, over the years they've done okay jobs but mostly marginal to bad jobs, but never such bad jobs as they did in December; their prices have risen steeply but we stayed loyal.. So for Christmas we took our "children" to get groomed, they did the worst job I've ever seen, and even though they get the same cut always, I had told them what I wanted, like I always do.. But this time they left uneven cuts (more than usual), and gave them poodle tails.. (my dogs are super passive so they can't blame the dogs, especially for the poodle tails) I complained and the young lady said next time she'd give us a free grooming, but that didn't satisfy Lotte, because she went in there as well totally and rightfully upset about the horrible job and they told her the same thing as well, the next one was on them; and so today I took them for a spring grooming and the one lady who was there today had no clue, and I saw the owner walking in the next room (day activity room for boarded cats and dogs), closing the door making no eye contact with me; then the lady who said it was supposed to be free came out from the back to tell me that she said no such thing and that it would come out of her pay, so I asked to talk to the owner, and they both told me he was not available, I insisted and then they came up with (out of the blue) that he was in a meeting.. (with who..? Other dogs in the back?) The first lady started to talk to the other lady in Spanish as if I wasn't there and I was some dead beat, she didn't think I understood or talked Spanish (which in it of itself is just rude anyway) granted, it's not my first language but I interjected in Spanish which caught her off guard.. They refused to honor the offer to groom our dogs at no cost due to their negligence, and I asked; (mind you, almost 20 years a loyal customer) I asked, what would you do if all this happened to you, and with a straight face she said, she'd never come there again... I'm very happy they are making such good money there that they can turn a good loyal and paying customer away, someone who has supported them through ups and downs of the economy. (especially now in these times of COVID and slow business for everyone, when businesses everywhere are closing down) so today, they lost two dogs, not just that but a loyal customer who will go elsewhere from now on.. I can deal with them not wanting to do free work, no one should work for free. I had expected some kind of compromise or discount; anything for the shabby work they did in December, but they refused to honor their promised to make their ugly screw up right and then blatantly lied about it.. funny she recalled the incident very well, but not that she offered a freebie, if she was not in a position to have offered it, she shouldn't have.. I will never go there again.. and I will never recommend anyone to go there.. if they are okay about losing me as a customer, they can do without other customers as well. It turns out they are not honest people and they were never really all that good in the first place, I was just supporting local businesses, and until today I liked them, and their prices are too high for the kind of work they do anyway.. I was a supporter of theirs until today, recommended many people to go there over the years, as I have been with all north bay village businesses, but as that lady told me, she wouldn't go there if she was me, so I won't go there again.. And lady, if you're reading this, I know you'll deny it. I hope your conscience is clear, and you can live with yourself.. read more

Have taken my chihuahua here a couple tiles with no issues until the last time I took her in for the normal bathing and she came back home limping! She could not bear weight on her back paw for about 2 weeks. I don't know what they did to her but of course they denied it when I called to speak to the owner.
