This review is long over due. I barely do Yelp reviews but Magic Clippers deserve it. I've been going here since I was in senior year high school 2012. Always been my go to for haircut as Jackie always takes time and very meticulous when doing haircut. Never in rush but appointment is recommended if you don't wanna wait specially on weekends. Jackie pays attention to detail on how you want it. I've moved 5 years ago to South San Jose & I tried other barbershops which was closer to me but no one gets it as close. I've been coming to Magic Clipper ever since they opened 7 years ago and have absolutely loved the service they give here! Location: The location is convenient--inside the Fremont Hub, right next to Staples. It allows for easy access and plenty of parking. Cleanliness: Magic Clipper is always fairly clean, I haven't had any complaints, it's a barber shop so of course there's going to be hair everywhere! Haircuts: I've had some of the best haircuts here! It's so hard to find really good barbers in Fremont for some reason so when I find one I stick to them! Both Stacy and Jackie are amazing at cutting hair here, though I usually see Stacy every couple weeks. She's quick but doesn't rush (if that makes sense?), she'll make sure to do the best job she can on your hair EVERYTIME, she's very consistent. Now, since she's been doing my hair for so long she knows exactly what I like when I come in. I highly recommend Magic Clipper for haircuts! They're great! read more

We called in Sunday morning to book for our toddler Haircut and we were told that they don't take appointment today and we can walk-in. This was our first time with Magic clipper. The wait time is really high since they really invest their time in every customer and really do their job well. I say this because we had a bad experience we the first hair cut with our toddler where the person who was doing the hair cut for our son started screaming on us because our son wont stop crying. After a long wait of 2 hours, it was our sons turn, and as always he started crying as soon as my husband sat in the chair with my son on his lap. I really want to appreciate the patience of the person ( Young Asian guy) that he didnt give up and patiently did the hair cut for my toddler. In between he gave lollypoop and suggested postures that made our son comfortable. And my son didnt stop crying even for a second untill the 10mins haircut was over, neither the person give up untill he was satisfied with the final touch-up he gave to my sons hair. I really appreciate the patience and work , only thing that could improve is the wait-time. read more

Horrible service. Tiny space and it smells like food heated w microwave n no ventilation. They made a horrible cut on my husbands hair and didn't even apologize when he went back to fix it. Instead the lady there scolded him for not reading the 12" print n returning within 24 hrs. then proceed to tell Him that's the style he asked for. Never mind the fact that she wasn't the one who actually cut his hair?! Who asks for their hair to be cut so badly and in balanced that it flips n hangs over top back of his head like a comb over. I stumbled onto to this place one day while walking around the hub. Been wanting to check it out and finally today I did. Jackie did a GREAT job with my short hair which is actually very hard to cut and and shape to make it look good. I loved how detailed Jackie was as well as the technique and style. My gf also had a cut with the other hairdresser and we liked her too. I already told a couple of friends about my experience and definitely would go back. This place is clean, the prize is right and the cut is perfect. Btw, they get alot of walk-ins, so either book ahead of time of plan to be on the list and wait. We left California almost 2 years ago, but we just talked about Magic Clipper today and how much we loved going there. My son, Brian, is on the autism spectrum and it was hard for us to find him a good place. The folks at Magic Clipper were so good to us they treated us like family. They gave us great haircuts and since moving back to Illinois we haven't found anyone near as good. I should've listened to other reviewers who recommended Jackie. Been there twice before. First time a lady (forgot her name) cut my hair. I asked her to just cut it the same way I had it but shorter. She did a decent job. No complaints. Second time I went was last Friday. Another lady (Anna) cut my hair. I asked for the same thing. She went to work and made it kinda weird. So I asked for some fixes while I was still there. She proceeded and made it not look like how I originally asked for. But it was what it was and I just paid and left. Came home and my wife told me it was weird in the back. I was busy the next day so I didn't go back till Monday. When I walked in, the other lady who was there on Friday recognized me. She said Anna cut your hair right? Why are you back? I nicely and politely told her that the back was a little weird and I'd like it to be fixed. She then proceeded to tell me that I was the one who asked for my hair to be cut this way. Then she asked me why I didn't come back in 24 hours, because after 24 hours I'd have to pay to get it fixed. I said I was busy. And I didn't know about the 24 hour policy. All this time she had this crappy attitude like I was being annoying. And she just told me to wait. There were a few people ahead of me. My son and I came across this barber by accident. It was a Sunday and my 3 yr. old needed to get a hair cut because we were taking family pictures that day. We walked passed this barber to go to Little Scissors where I usually take him but unfortunately they were closed. So I took the chance and tried this new establishment. If it wasn't for the motorcycle chair they had in there for kids I don't think my son would have stand a chance. Anyways the person who cut his hair her name was Jackie, I believe she's the owner. She took her time and was very gentle with my son. Unlike Little Scissors they always seem to be in a rush and sometimes the haircut doesn't come out right. For $12 his haircut met my expectations and I was very satisfied! I am glad I tried my luck with this place because I will definitely be back! $12 vs. $16 I'll take that anytime! read more

I needed to find a good men's hair salon because the person who used to cut my hair moved 40 minutes away. :( So I find this place - Magic Clipper, with 5 five-star reviews. So i decided to give it a chance. I am glad I did. The store is easy to find - its in Fremont Hub opposite Staples. The store is clean and well-lit. I explained how i wanted it and I let Jackie do her magic. I agree with other reviewers - she treats your hair like a work of art. You can tell when someone enjoys their work. I REALLY hate to write this review. I think Jackie is a great barber BUT she is never there! Today was the third time, in the last 3 months that I have gone to the shop during normal business hours and she was not there. The open sign remains on, for some strange reason. I even had an incident, where she had a lady watch the shop for her and I waited over an hour and half for Jackie to show up. Don't go here if you value your time. It is very unprofessional. I understand that family issues come up, but after the third time... I guess its time to search for a new barber again. Sigh. read more

I have had a hair cut from the same place for over three years now. Jacky is one of the best in the area. However, his attitude sucks. Even if you make it to the appointment on time, you see him working with another guy. There is no point in having an appointment where in I have to wait for 30 more minutes. It didn't made sense to me. I have been a loyal customer for over three years with pretty big tips that are almost equal to the price of the haircut but at the end you lost me. Note: I drove 28 miles to get to your salon but yet you treat me bad. Now, someone else treats me right and I am theirs now. read more

I'm very picky about who cuts my hair and after moving from Dublin to Fremont i need to find a place who will do a great job. So i decided to check this place out which is close to my new place. Jackie cuts hair like no other, i can go for two weeks before i get my hair cut and when i go its always perfect. It will be hard to find another place like this when i move to Texas, if i can take Jackie with me I would... I will really miss this place. We walked into this place on a Sunday evening and did not have to wait too long for our turn. The place is well organized with some seating for visitors. The lady took really good care and was very patient with my toddler who was too scared and screaming and did not want a haircut. She talked softly, gave him a candy and directed us to hold him so she could do her job. She took enough time to deliver what I asked for and I am so glad we went to Magic Clipper. My son has received hair cuts here for over a year. Decent haircuts and prices. We pass multiple barber shops on our 20+ minute drive to Magic Clipper. Arrived just after 6:00 pm on a weekday and was asked if I had an appointment. Had no idea that appointments were offered, how would I? Waited an hour and a half which has been typical of our recent visits. While we typically come in on the weekends, we have been in on weekdays as well. As long as we have been customers, we should have been made aware by now of the weekday appointment requirement. Jackie made it very clear that we were receiving a favor by being seen at all and complete blame was placed on the us regarding the lack of appointment knowledge. Even when we should up one hour before opening to secure the first spot, often Jackie doesn't even show up at the time the shop opens.
