When I went for my appointment at 11am, they were in the middle of hosting a running event. Music was blaring, my barber was constantly running back and forth for the event, and he was posting on Instagram at the same time as cutting my hair. Not going to name names because I get that maybe he got caught up in the event. I just feel like all of this could've easily been avoided by not taking appointments at the same time as when the shop's running a big event. The cut itself was good - definitely a step above the normal Asian salon I go to - but I wouldn't say it was worth $100. Maybe around $60 is what I'd feel comfortable paying. read more

Victor was great at listening to what hairstyle and length of my grandson's cut. Looking at how was cutting, I could tell he has some skills with scissor cut and clippers and even with the finishing touch with the hairdryer. I almost called it one of the best haircuts my grandson has had since trying different places in Fremont. I ended up finding a few minor flaws and pieces of hair that were left longer, but I imagine it's due to him not staying very still. Spent lots of time combing through reviews in search of a barber/stylist experienced with men's long hair styles. I finally settled on Bryan at Paradox in Fremont and made an appointment for my husband. You see, my husband has been growing his hair out since COVID and his Asian hair was down to his waist! We've got graduations and weddings to go to this year so this 55-year old man needed an age-appropriate style. The Lord of the Rings wizard look wasn't cutting it. Bryan looked at the photos we brought in, took into account the level of maintenance my husband was willing to put in and transformed his look into something current and intentional. Was pretty stoked to try this place after seeing all those great reviews. The vibes were on point, awesome location, and super clean inside. But honestly, the service left me hanging. Had an appointment but still ended up waiting 15 minutes while Victor finished up with another guy. When we finally got started, I asked for a low skin fade, but Victor seemed hesitant and talked me into getting a taper instead. Halfway through, I was definitely not feeling it and wanted to go back to my original idea, but he shut me down saying it would "take too long" because he had other clients waiting. my haircut prior to going to paradox was a disaster. the previous place cut my hair too narrow that didn't fit my head shape. I actually saw an IG reel of Bryan and a cut he did which made me book an appointment with him. and let me tell you he is legit. first time meeting him and he was intentional about my cut and explaining to me what he was going to do to fix my prior cut.
