We enjoyed buying our carpet and vinyl planking from Magic Carpet this past October and want to encourage others to try them. We experienced a sewage flood from the Brea city sewers in June. Sewage flooding is not like freshwater flooding. Everything contaminated by sewage must be removed and disposed of and what cannot be removed must be professionally sanitized. Our floors and carpet were destroyed, and we needed to put down new floor coverings following restoration. We love Magic Carpet's great attitude and helpfulness when with visited them about fifteen years ago and decided we would ask them for samples and advice in our current time of need. Darlene Deloye was immensely helpful. She provided us with many carpet samples and flooring samples and taught us about the advantages of each product without pressure to buy. The "new" Magic Carpet owner, Gary DeLahousaye has a "you are the customer" attitude that is so welcome. For example, we wanted samples of a product he did not have in stock. He made sure his wholesaler accommodated us with a visit to their warehouse and samples of what we wanted to buy. Once we bought our vinyl flooring and carpet, Gary and Darlene set us up with expert installers who moved furniture and appliances, addressed our concerns, followed instructions and were careful and clean. We once again have a beautiful home and are grateful to Magic Carpet for their help during a stressful time. With the large number of flooring places in Orange County, it's not worth going into this place and subject yourself to, at best, quasi customer service. The two women that work there have a chip on their shoulder and didn't seem to want my business. Not sure why as I was friendly and polite. One of the ladies stared at me with a dirty look, the ENTIRE time I was talking to the other woman. It was as if she wanted me to see the hateful look on her face. The shop is fine. Clean and great choices for tile and carpet. The price/quote I got was also decent but I ended up paying a few hundred dollars more at Carpets 4 U because right now, supporting small businesses that are keeping quality customer service is so important. read more

Like the other review, I waited at the front sales desk for over 20 minutes staring at the woman working on her computer. Just like the previous reviewer, nobody ever helped me. Now I've been here twice with the same result. The very first time, which was three visits ago, I did get acknowledged after about ten minutes, and the rude woman said she couldn't answer my question (How can I order or get a replacement blinds wand that was broken off from the set of blinds we purchased here last year?) because the person who knows isn't here. Now you may be asking why did I come back? Well apparently the company that I do business with uses them or likes the crap service they offer. Well I don't and won't return regardless. I will have them open up an account with West Coast Flooring in Fullerton as they are prompt, professional and very personable. So if you want to be ignored and treated like your non-existent, then shop here. If you want to be treated like a customer, go elsewhere. Please go check them out yourself to see how right we are! When we moved in to our house in Brea 15 years ago we used Magic Carpet because we were in a hurry and it was close by. We recently needed new carpet and my wife returned to Magic Carpet and brought home samples. We ended up buying, and today we had three installers here. I wish I could remember their names - one was Sergio. They were on time, worked hard, and did a great job. It was our full upstairs, and they had to move lots of furniture. I had Magic Carpets do flooring for me 3 times in two different houses, the first being maybe 16 years ago and then recently this past November. They were good then and they are still good now. I just had carpet and vinyl planks installed and they look beautiful. Lynn helped me pick good quality flooring at a reasonable price and the installers did a perfect job. The carpet installers remembered us from the first time they laid our carpet in 2002. Our tenants left it filthy but it was still thick and had no tears or unraveling after all these years. Once again Gordon and Lynn saved the day! We can not say enough good about Magic Carpet and the owners. They have done our Brea house several times and we have always been extremely impressed with the workmanship and honesty of these people. They proved again they are the best when our refrigerator filter leaked and soaked the carpet and warped the floor boards under the carpet. After Gordon inspected it, they sent Larry out the same day we called to pull the carpet back, put a fan on it and check for mold. The next day they repaired the wood and replaced the carpet. This business is wonderful! It's family owned and local, which really appealed to me. I took a very long time deciding which carpet to buy and each time I went in they took time to help me, laid samples on the floor so I could look at them, gave me samples to take home. They never called asking me to return the samples or pressured me to make a decision. I was able to keep samples more than a week The owner himself came to measure. He was friendly, efficient and even knew the layout of my house! They called me with updates on the availability of the carpet and waited a long time until I was ready for installation. I purchased some Armstrong laminate at Floor and Décor a few years ago and needed to replace several hundred feet due to a remodel. Floor and Décor not only told me they no longer sold the flooring but I found out they originally sold it to me after it had already been discontinued. I called Lynn at Magic Carpet and, I'm not kidding you, together we spent a week trying to track down a compatible flooring, which included having samples shipped in and inspecting flooring at an offsite warehouse. We even were told by a manufacturer that some older flooring had been located, which I promptly purchased, only to find out the rep was mistaken. Lynn didn't even blink about returning my payment when we discovered the error by Armstrong. We settled on flooring Magic Carpet didn't stock, but I can't remember the last time an employee worked so hard to get me what I wanted. I tried this place because of a friend's recommendation due to their price matching policy.
