I really enjoyed collaborating with Ivan on our project as we discussed usability, functionality and practicality. We added 2 benches, reduced the depth of the deep end and opted for a radiant (glass beads and abalone shells) finish pebble. It's gorgeous! Our prior remodel done 10 years ago was by one of the local businesses who might stop by from time to time during construction but never would communicate directly. If there was an issue, it was too much trouble to bother asking for a resolution. It was the exact opposite of this experience with iPools. Ivan went above and beyond during all phases of the remodel--most notably when he made sure the slope of our existing pool was corrected during the shotcrete stage. That wasn't a request that we would have even known to make. Additionally, Ivan has a great working relationship with the construction crews involved in building a pool. This makes such a difference as, again, the dynamic was so different this time around being a much more pleasant and respectful environment for all involved. I'm very grateful to have had this positive experience as I truthfully dreaded the construction phase. We did not like the expectation of the company that we would leave a side gate open for them on service days or provide a key. There was little to no communication about the work being done or what would be necessary for the pool. They were very communicative and timely around asking for payment at the end of the month. They wrote all over our system in sharpie, and regularly failed to communicate between technicians, so we were answering the same questions over and over. Rates were competitive, but the value did not equate to the provided service or lack of communication--around service times, maintenance, and the services themselves. The technicians changed frequently, and we were often left feeling like we were added to a schedule as opposed to a regular weekly customer. Given everything, we will be seeking alternative options for this season.

When we bought our house three years ago, we knew the pool needed to be redone. Unfortunately, because of other major repairs, we had to wait. Our house was a flip, and whoever patched up the pool before us did a quick, cosmetic job that started falling apart within months. The plaster came off in sheets, the 1960s tile was covered in decades of calcium buildup, the coping was old red brick with mortar literally crumbling out, and some jets and plumbing didn't even work. The pool was technically swimmable, but it was depressing to look at. This summer our weekly pool cleaner told us the plaster was about to fail completely, so we started calling around for estimates. Most of the big corporate companies gave us inflated quotes and made us feel like just another job number. A trusted friend recommended Oscar's, so we checked Yelp, saw all the great reviews, and gave him a call. Oscar came out immediately, took careful measurements, walked us through every detail, and his knowledge and professionalism instantly won our trust. From there, the process moved quickly. Within a week of signing, his crew demoed the entire pool in just a few hours. We got to choose tile from several suppliers and ended up with a beautiful pebble mosaic that matched our house. At first, we thought we'd keep the old red brick coping, but at the last minute we switched to a modern dark gray brick. Best decision ever! It completely transformed the look of our backyard. As often happens with older homes, surprises came up: our original 1964 gas and electrical lines were corroded and had to be replaced. Oscar handled everything--brought in trusted contractors, coordinated the work, and saved us the headache of dealing with multiple companies. While we were at it, we upgraded our equipment to a top-of-the-line Jandy system with Wi-Fi controls, plus added a heater and automatic pool filler. Yes, the budget went up, but every upgrade was worth it. Watching the transformation was amazing. Once the new tile, coping, and plaster went in, it felt like we had a brand-new pool built from scratch. The white plaster makes the water sparkle, the equipment runs quietly and efficiently, and with the heater and lights, we can swim comfortably day or night, year-round. Beyond the work itself, what made the experience so special was Oscar and his family. He's personable, honest, hardworking, and clearly cares about his craft. His crew was professional, respectful, and fast. By the end, it felt like we weren't just hiring a contractor--we were working with people who truly cared about making our home better.
