Recently had Magic Repair to my home. In need of a repair for the lock on my Kitchen Aid double oven. Unfortunately, the repair part was no longer available, so the problem could not be fixed. However, the lights in the double ovens would not go off so I asked the tech to please disconnect. His reply was,the only way to shut off the interior lights was to shut off at the circuit breaker...wrong! I had a handyman over & it took him less than 10 minutes to disconnect the lights. Paid Magical $75.00 for a quick walk in & a walk out. I'll look elsewhere if I am ever in need of a repair. read more

We had a very bad experience here with a refrigerator repair. After a first visit and part replacement failed to fix the problem, the technician returned and was (in our opinion) hostile to my wife and confrontational in a subsequent phone call about the fact that his prior fix had not worked. Turns out, all we needed to do was to defrost the unit. Recommend to avoid. read more

Used them for the first time today but I have to say I was impressed with the entire process. I had a Thermador range which needed service no called the manufacture who said they would take a week to get someone out and started spewing pricing over the phone at me without even a visit. I decided to look for local reviews on Yelp and ran across this business. They came out on my schedule 24 hours later. Showed up on the early end of the 2 hour window I was given. And went over pricing and the issues before doing any work. Hey also had a coupon on their website making the fix more affordable. I was please with the experience and fixed the range quickly and efficiently. Extra points for being polite, clean and nice... Not often the experience I have had when working with other repair services. read more

Wow, only 3 1/2 stars? This was the only appliance repair that could repair my father-in-law's ancient subzero refrigerator. Do you know what a new sub zero refrigerator costs? We did not want to spend $15,000 on a new refrigerator. Also Gene did a great job, was courteous, was on time explained to us why things didn't work right and his simple solution was the one that fixed the refrigerator. I had suggested to previous repair man that maybe it was the seal And thermostat on the refrigerator. They were like no no no no it was something else. Gene came out fixed the thermostat and also replace the seal on the refrigerator and we have not had a problem since. Read my other reviews, I have a policy of not reviewing anything until a year later. That way I know that if something needed to be fixed that it really did fix the problem. They are scheduled to come out to my house next week to fix our old Kenmore dryer, and I am sure that it is going to be something simple that Gene can handle. We don't want to buy a new dryer at this time. :-) read more

Be careful with these guys....they seem out to get your $60 service call fee, but not sure if they're any good at finding or fixing the problem?? Gene had visited my house advised me that my microwave needed a new transformer. I told him I could get it myself since the price he was showing me on some site was too high. He gave me the part number, and so I bought the transformer. I was scheduled for the follow-up repair. He calls half an hour before and says he doesn't work that day! So, why did you set up the appointment then? Then he tells me that I need a transformer, capacitor, diode and fuse. I told him that is not what he said and we clearly talked about needing a transformer, we looked it up on the internet, and he gave me a part number to buy it. He said he doesn't remember because he talks to many people and that is what he wrote on the receipt! I looked at the receipt later and that is indeed what he wrote at the end, despite the fact that we talked only about a faulty transformer! Not only is that deceitful, but he basically is also asking me to replace all the electrical parts! He had estimated total costs of $475. I decided to forfeit the $60 and called GE instead. They fixed it all for $320! And I have peace of mind knowing i could trust the work. read more

I've had several people look at the problem and try to fix it but Ed came in and found and fixed the problems in 5 minutes. Fast, easy, and affordable. My dryer broke, and I called several repair services to try to get someone to look at it. I fully expected to be told that it wasn't worth fixing, because it's almost 10 years old, so I was very happy to find the Magic Appliance charged nearly 1/3 LESS than any of the other services to come and give me a quote. I was happily surprised to find that the problem was an easily-replaced part. The cost for the repair was reasonable, and the repair was done quickly. As an added bonus, they checked my washer too - at no additional cost, which surprised me because every other shop charged for each appliance. Unfortunately, it appears that my washing machine is beyond hope - but I am confident that, had it been repairable, that repair would also have been made quickly and affordably. Soon after the repairman left, I was speaking to a friend about my experience, only to find out that she had had the exact same problem with her dryer, had called a different repair shop, and had paid almost twice what Magic Appliance charged me. She had been thrilled with her repair experience until she heard mine! What I would have paid using someone else: Competitor: dryer repair - $215; additional cost to look at washing machine: $40 Magic Appliance: dryer repair $125; additional cost to look at washing machine: $0 My vote goes to Magic, hands down! read more

The belt broke on my washing machine and they sent a technician to look at it. He ordered a new belt and two weeks later when it finally came in, he replaced the belt and tightened the pulley. A week later, the pulley broke. He ordered a new pulley and two weeks later it still hadn't come in. I called the owner to cancel the order so that I could buy a new machine, questioning the initial diagnostic. The owner said he would talk to the technician and get back to me. THE OWNER NEVER CALLED ME BACK. When I called the owner, he said I was one of "a thousand calls" he gets, and didn't have time to follow up with me, even though I've been a customer for a decade. Obviously, I'll be looking for another repair service. read more

This guy is a total hack job! DO NOT HIRE! His "fix" broke again in 6 months. He would not guarantee the work. The new repairman said the work was done wrong and that the original guy broke a bunch of parts in the refrigerator! Hire a real company. read more

DO NOT USE MAGIC APPLIANCE. I called Magic Appliance on Monday because my SubZero refrigerator was leaking and ABT couldn't come out for 3 days. Magic Appliance offered same day service. They had good Yelp reviews (until now), and when I called Magic Appliance, they assured me they are EXPERTS at Subzero appliances. The technician came out within an hour or two. He was CLUELESS as to what was causing the leak. He even thought at one point that it was my dishwasher that was leaking. He took apart my entire Subzero freezer. Was here for over 1 1/2 hours. Mentioned he thought I needed a larger drip pan to catch all the water (btw...he did mention that the existing drip pan was NOT broken). He said he'd check with his distributor in the morning and let me know how much the new part was. He charged me the $60 service call, and I STILL had a leaky freezer when he left. I never heard from Magic the next day so I called and asked for my money back for the service call since my Subzero was still leaking. The owner said he would NOT give me my money back, but he'd gladly come out and use silicone to stop the leak, "at no additional charge". He said that noone in this area was more experienced at Subzero appliances than him/his company. I opted not to have them back, yet to wait for the ABT repairmen. ABT came out this afternoon. He found where the leak was coming from within 15 minutes of arriving. He turned off my ice maker which immediately stopped the water from dripping. It was NOT the drip pan. It does NOT need silicone, as the owner of Magic Appliance suggested it might need! The leak was in a completely different part of my Subzero that the initial technician from Magic was searching (a tube came disconnected to the ice maker). I am now out the $60 that Magic Appliance charged me and I still needed to pay ABT their $214 service charge, but at least I am confident that the leak has been fixed properly, rather than a "bandaid" being put on a leak! If I can save one person the service fee from Magic Appliance, then I guess I'll feel a little better about this terrible experience! read more

Replaced a fan on a 25 year old sub-zero fridge. Technician was professional and up-front on costs and did a good job. Gave free advice on what to look out for. I know it's just a refrigerator, but it is an old school sub zero built in, little problems can cost over 1K with one of these things. Ended up replacing a condenser fan blade for under $150, also observed a minor issue with the compressor and fixed that for free (tightened something), and good advice. Thanks!!! read more

I contacted and set up an appointment for magic appliance to repair my Frigidaire gallery refrigerator. I had provided enough information and done enough investigation for them to essentially tell me what they would do and what it would cost. They recommended that I replace the parts myself because of the work that I have done rather than coming for the appointment and charge me extra money. I can't really speak to the quality of the work that they would've provided to me had they come, but it really seems as though they knew what they were talking about based on what was going on with my refrigerator. But for a company to contact me and say we don't need to come and take your money seems pretty good. read more
