Definitely recommend coming here if you are in St Thomas on a cruise. It's a beautiful white sand beach with lush green cliffs on both sides. There are plenty of facilities, food, and a bar. This is a great place to relax as there are not many activities. Some negatives, the food was ridiculously pricey even for tourist trap standards and they charged $40 for 2 chairs which is more then most carribean tourist beaches. Next time I will walk to the quieter side and find a bench or put down a towel, mostly everyone stays around the bar area
Really enjoyed our time at Magens bay. I only got a view from far away, and then none while we were actually on the beach or in the water. But we snorkled there. Lots of fish and sea turtles. A lot of people on the beach and the umbrellas and chairs were sold out but we still enjoyed the water and views.
I love this beach its always picture perfect. You don't have to shell out $30 for a chair & umbrella but that's how much it costs along with $7 entry per person. They have a bar and food that's pretty dang good. I tried the Salmon sandwich it was delicious. They have 2 bathrooms and a changing area if you need it and taxis that come through often.
Listed as a world renowned beach and I can understand why... after going thru the heck jn station where you pay for entry. It was $16 for the two of us. Parking was ample even though the beach seemed busy. We get our gear and walk the short path to feet to the beach and it's one of those moments where you wonder why you live anywhere else but here in Saint Thomas. It's just so pretty. The white sands and clear blue waters you read about are pretty much all true. Albeit the water wasn't that clear but it sure was pretty. Beauty of this beach is that there is really no drop off to worry about. The water is somewhat shallow for a good amount of distance out. I didn't see any fish but the beach was kind of crowded so maybe they like their space like myself? Bathrooms were big and clean, the folks working here are super nice even though the busy. As noted, there is a bar that you can eat/drink at. We had packed our snacks and water so didn't even adventure that way. The have taxi services right at the entry to parking so getting back to port would have been easy if we didn't have our rental car. Would i go back here? Maybe. If I had a choice of here or Lindholz? Depends? Do i need a bar/eatery? People watching? Shallow warmer waters? I'd go here. If I wanted deeper waters, waves, pack my own food/drink. Seeing more fish right off the beach. That's Lindholz beach. It's all about perspective. Either way, you get to have your feet in the sand and sun warming you up. What else could you ask for. Enjoy the adventure.
Magens Bay is probably the best known beach in St Thomas. This is for good reason. You'll find a very long expanse of sandy beach. It will take you a long time to walk from one end to the other. Most of the time, the water is crystal clear with minimal waves (if any). It's the type of beach where you can chill out in the water and swim as if you're in a natural swimming pool. The beach also has a restaurant, bar, gift shop, changing rooms, rinse showers, and bathrooms. These are all adequate if you're here for a day. But, the food is a bit pricey. Be prepared to pay a small admission fee to enter the beach. This fee is used to maintain the beach/fqcility. Overall: recommended. Even locals often pick this beach out of all the choices here. Tip: If there's a lot of cruise ships, maybe think twice about Magens if you don't like crowds. Otherwise, go for it. It's best when there's few ships or none!
Beautiful beach! The water looks beautiful! They have an option to rent a beach chair & umbrella for $20. We setup under a tree and it was perfect for us. There is a bar and take-out restaurant. This beach is amongst the top 10 beaches of the world and it's a must-see if you are in the area. We came in a cruise and purchased a shopping/beach and sightseeing of historical landmarks excursion for $64.99 - totally worth it.
This is one of our favorite beaches in St. Thomas. It has a beautiful white sand beach that is spacious enough to provide seating for large crowds, along with crystal blue waters. We usually attend on days when cruise ships are not in, which makes it nice and peaceful without crowds. The shallow sandy beach does not require water shoes, as there are few rocks or coral in the wading areas. They have public bathrooms, a gift shop, and a place to get drinks and food. We had plenty of space to lay towels out in the shade of the nearby trees, but they also provide seats and umbrellas for a charge. Also, there is a charge for adults visiting the beach plus they charge for parking. I think our party of 5 with parking was around $40. For those who think the snorkeling is not great, I think they may have missed where the action is. I'd recommend walking to the end of the beach on the northern part and swim along the rocky coastline to see some great aquatic life. The south rocky coastline also has good snorkeling. The sandy beaches make the visibility not the best at times, but we saw some turtles and a good variety of fish. Definitely worth the visit next time you're in St. Thomas!
Great but with some frustrations During our cruise stop in April 2025, my family visited Magens Bay Beach. Soft sand, crystal-clear warm water, picturesque views, and even some snorkeling opportunities on the right edge make it an excellent destination for anyone looking for a great beach in St. Thomas. The right side of the beach (facing the sea) was packed with people, umbrellas, and loungers. This is where taxis drop off passengers, and getting a lounger there was a frustration. $40 gets you either an umbrella with two loungers or just two loungers, but the rental process was very slow and inefficient. Each person had to wait while an attendant searched for available umbrellas with no guarantee he would find one by the time it was finally your turn. After 30 minutes in line, we were told no umbrellas were left. Couldn't they have told us earlier? Ultimately, we settled for loungers at the very back, near the road where taxis pull in. There was a food and drinks shack on this side of the beach, but it had 20+ min wait times. Losing precious beach time just to grab a few drinks felt quite frustrating. More bartenders or additional drink/food stations could easily solve this and make the Magens Bay Beach experience more enjoyable. The left side of the beach (facing the sea), however, was peaceful, quiet, and spacious, with natural shade from the trees. It had picnic tables, but no loungers, umbrellas, or food/drink vendors (why not open one?). I wish we'd known about this contrast in advance - we would've opted for left side. If you can skip a lounger, use natural shade, and don't mind taking a walk for food and drinks, I'd highly recommend to stay on the left side of the beach for better experience.
This is one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. There is an entrance fee of $7 and you can rent chairs and umbrellas ($40 for two chairs sharing an umbrella). Food and drinks are available at a restaurant and bar ( a little pricey though). The bathrooms ( one on each end of the beach) are clean. Unlike other Carribean beaches, no one hassles you to buy anything. This beach is definitely worth a visit if you ever find yourself in St Thomas.
Gorgeous soft sand beach on the north side of the island of St Thomas, US Virgin Islands. We took a shuttle from the cruise port costing $15 one-way per person. It now costs $7 for non-locals for entry ($2 if local). Since it's a paid beach, most people were tourists coming from the boats, all various ages. The beach runs from Southwest to Northeast at the end of Magens Bay, and the waves are very gentle throughout. It is not particularly wide or deep, so it's an easy walk to get from the parking lot to the water's edge. We got dropped off at the NE end and I took a long beach walk to the other end (taking about 25 minutes). The beach is kept very clean, has good permanent facilities, and saw plenty of lifeguard stations, most of them being manned. They rent chairs and umbrellas from the building located in the middle, which also houses a beach restaurant. I can see how the beach can get really crowded, with the great sand, warm water, and good facilities.
Tourist spot for cruise ship passengers. If you are staying on the island there are so many better beaches for renting water sport equipment and snorkeling. The beach and overlook look great, and the photos of the beach look great. Being on the beach was disappointing. So many leaves and sticks in the sand, most trash I have seen in the sand for a long time. Old facilities. Interesting note I kept finding odd earnings in the sand and shallow ocean floor. Quite amusing. I found 4 different earrings. Pricey bars and gift shops. $3.25 for bottle of water from a 24 case at the vending machines. By the time you factor in cab, park entrance $5 and all the individual rental costs for each item you would want, you can actually get to many other nicer beaches on the island. You are not allowed to swim more than about 30ft from shoreline but you can go around the edges as far as you want. The water was calm but very cloudy and visibility was particularly 2ft. Nothing captured well on our GoPro. If you have the time and are able to walk, research honeymoon bay on St. John's. read more

Beautiful beach...this is what you picture when you think "tropical beach"...beautiful soft sand, serene and tranquil clear water, palm trees everywhere and a great walking beach. This place is beautiful. What you should know; 1) $5 per person entry (if you're not a local) 2) $2 to park a car 3) there is a bar on the beach (perfect) 4) being food...or get it there....it's just expensive $9 for a ham, egg and cheese sandwich Enjoy!!! read more

The view alone is stunning. We were blessed to see it everyday on our way into town. Magen's Bay is a well cared for beach. The sand is white and the water is turquoise. What else could you need? There's a place for chair and umbrella rental if needed. You purchase the rentals at the gift shop and receive a small refund when you return the items by 4pm. There's also a place for food and drinks. And I'll admit it provided some of the best pizza that I've had in a long time. Also, there were no complaints in the drink department. The beach wasn't crowded and it even rained a bit. But once the storm passed, the beach was back to being it's beautiful self. - I think it's $5 per person to enter the gate (non-resident). -This is a tourist attraction so expect to see the many taxis driving by or asking if you need a ride. - There's a small bathroom pavilion (one stall so plan accordingly). There may be one at the other end of the beach but I'm not sure. -Be careful for the slight drop off when entering the water. read more

One of the best beaches I have ever been to! Crystal clear/turquoise, calm water with incredible views. There is something about swimming in the "bay" in between the hills of St Thomas that is so relaxing and serene. They did charge an entry fee, I think maybe $10. We were also there on a cruise ship day so it was busy and the beach got crowded but still plenty of space for everyone to be spread out. Didn't get to try the drinks or food from the bar but heard good things about them from others there. read more

Magens is a beautiful beach and worth paying to see. However there are ways around it. Come before 8am or after 4:30pm and you don't have to pay. Or take the hiking trail from the road. Great beach for running in the morning when it's quiet and all the tourists haven't arrived yet. Best to go on a day when there are no cruise ships in town. Or come on a day with cruise ships for some excellent people watching! ;) They have everything you need except wifi and an atm, so come prepared! They accept cash and credit cards but with a $15 minimum. They have beach servers that will bring you drinks, a bar, and the food isn't bad either! Fun fact, the owners are Greek, and they have delicious chicken and lamb gyros that they make with their homemade tzatziki sauce. The burgers are big, big wedge cut fries, fresh salads, hot dogs, sandwiches, or pizza by the slice or whole! They also have breakfast in the mornings from 9:30-11 that's really yummy with pancakes, eggs, bacon, you name it! There is a Yak Shack down on the right side that offers kayaks and paddle boards to rent by the hour. You can rent beach chairs from the gift store. If you want more privacy, bring a cooler and stay towards the left end of the beach. Lifeguards are on daily on the busy parts of the beach. Make sure to bring your snorkel, you will without a doubt see some sea turtles! read more

Great quiet beach with lots of space to relax and have a picnic and enjoy the quiet. Not a great place to snorkel but we were lucky enough to see a couple turtles feeding g in the grassbeds. Great place for kids to safely play and swim and food and drinks to enjoy. read more
Magens Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to!! If y'all ever in St. Thomas, you must experience Magens Bay. Pictures do not do it justice. Be prepared to pay to get in unless you are on a cruise excursion. Parking is ten dollars and a two dollar admission fee per person. I think kids under twelve get in free. There is plenty of parking and you may be able to see a mongoose or two. There is a restaurant and bar to go to and they do offer beach side service. You can also rent umbrellas and lounge chairs at their gift shop.If you are bringing a dog.. forget it. Service animals only! Magens Bay is a special place and highly recommend visiting it when you are in St. Thomas. FYI... it does get busy when cruise ships arrive so I suggest you get there early! read more

This was my favorite beach in St Thomas. Perfect place to spend the day, there's food, restrooms and kayak rentals all right there. You don't have to leave for anything. There are also plenty of places you can go to get some shade if the sun becomes too much. I rented a kayak and stopped at some spots along the bay, and was the only person there. read more
Magens Bay is a beautiful beach. They have parking, bathroom facilities, a bar/restaurant, and souvenir shop!! They have chair rentals but we brought our own. The sand is soft, the water is blue/clear. We were lucky to go when the beach wasn't too busy. Definitely a stop you should add on your trip to St. Thomas! read more
In A Nutshell: -Magens Beach was heavily promoted by the locals and the internet and it did not disappoint! -The drive is only about 15 minutes from downtown or about 45 minutes if you drive the longer route through the eastern part of St. Thomas. -After descending down the mountain road you'll enter the small gate and pay $5 /per person. No fee to park if you arrive on a scooter. -There was barely anyone at the beach (thank goodness no cruise ship ported, since I hear this place gets packed). -The sandy beach is less than a mile long and has spectacular views. -The water is a pristine blue, very calm, no waves and stress-free. -The parking lot isn't far, just a hop & skip and you're on the beach. -They have picnic tables under trees that provide plenty of shade. -The showers are clean and also close to the beach. Overall, if you only have a few hours to spend in St. Thomas make sure you come here! read more
This was the first beach we went to on our Caribbean cruise and oh man was it beautiful!!! Quiet and clean!! The water is warm and clear and perfect. It's just so peaceful. We stayed for a few hours and just enjoyed the view and the food . If you're visiting St Thomas you must come here. You won't regret it. read more

Magens Bay is gorgeous. I felt like I had stepped into a postcard. We thought we would be bored since there isn't much to do around there, but we ended up spending hours there just wading around in the water and relaxing on the beach. The water was so blue and clear, I could look down and see clearly right through to the sand. There were also sea turtles swimming around and we could see turtle heads poking out of the water around us. The groups of people were pretty well distanced apart. It wasn't too crowded during the whole time we were there (Note that it wasn't a cruise ship day, so I'm not sure how much worse it gets when the cruises are docked). There was also plenty of seating areas and shade. You also have the option of renting beach chairs too if you want but there are plenty of picnic tables scattered around the area for free. The area was also pretty clean including the facilities. There are bathrooms and changing rooms and an outside shower that are well maintained. There's a restaurant on the beach so you can have lunch right on the sand. I've never paid for access to a beach before but at just $5 for non-locals, the prices aren't bad. The worst part is the drive to get there. It's not a far drive from town but the roads are super steep and narrow and the pothole-filled roads are in terrible condition. read more
Oh Magens....what can I say about this beach that hasn't already been said? Yes its beautiful, yes its been featured in every well-to-do-best-beaches-of-all-time top ten list there is, and yes it does have a LONG stretch of sandy white sprawl where you can just sit and enjoy the scenery for however long you like....that is, if the cruise ships aren't in and you aren't surrounded by tons of tourists just fresh off the taxis....some days Magen's is an absolute paradise, while other days its best to go to other places around the island! I do love Magens, however when I'm here its usually before 8 AM when they start charging the fee, and I'm usually doing a morning run or workout....during that time, the beach is absolutely pristine! I LOVE coming here in the mornings and enjoying the solitude, watching the wildlife, and just running on the beach or the surrounding area, its very large so there's a lot of space to run and then head over to Peterborg. People also swim here early in the morning and its a great atmosphere. I don't typically come here during the day, although I did not too long ago as it was my friend's birthday party and it was a lot of fun! The beach is of course, beautiful, and there are lots of amenities like picnic tables, covered areas for parties, even a food place I think? AND...VERY cool, lots of trash bins everywhere so there is a place to throw stuff away and keep it OFF the beach. That day we went wakeboarding and it was absolutely perfect! Perfect calm conditions with no waves whatsoever make this an AWESOME spot to wakeboard! It was definitely a great day :-) I do only give Magen's a 4 star though, instead of 5. just because of the fee....having to pay to go to the beach, when there are so many others on island that are free....have to knock off a star for that. However this place is an institution, and does deserve visiting as it is very beautiful, but does tend to get overrun so pay attention to the cruise ship schedules! Or just do what I typically do and go early in the morning, or even later on in the evening, its nice then too and I think they only charge the entrance fee up until 4 or 5pm...so there are ways around it! read more
So we decided to come here instead of the beach by the university. We shall see tomorrow if we made the right choice! Now onto the review! Coming here is most certainly a pain in the you know what. I suppose that it might not be so terrible if you are staying nearby. If you are coming from any sort of distance, you will be driving up all kinds of twists and turns and then back down some twists and turns that go on forever. All that aside, once you get there it will be completely worth it. The beach is beautiful. You have these breathtaking views of the surrounding island and hills of each side of you. It's like your inside your on little paradise. The water is so warm and the sand is like silk. The beach is very clean as well! A couple of things to be aware of though. We got there a little late and found out the hard way that most of the stuff there closes at 5. This includes a nice little drink shack, a mini restaurant, and a rental place for chairs and what not. We did miss most of it, but I got a nice drink from the bar before they closed. All of which are easily walked to. The main reason this place loses a star and almost put at a 3, was that it costs 5 bucks a person to get in!! Then on top of that, they charge you 2 bucks just to park in their lot. That really bummed me out as there are many free beaches. I do recommend coming here though as it's worth the price. read more

Magens Bay at St. Thomas is a really beautiful spot. The ocean is perfect there. The white sandy beach is so soft. There are restrooms and changing stalls. You can be in the ocean and view the mountains at the same time. The water is so beautiful. Many fish and turtles. There are also beautiful trees and iguanas. You can also kayak. The entry fee is only $5 for visiting adults and 12 and under are free. Be sure to visit Magen's Bay! read more

If you travel to St. Thomas, then you must visit Magen's Bay because it is beautiful and breathtaking. Once you arrive at the beach you must pay an entrance fee of $4 per adult, $2 for a car and children under 12 are free. If you are a local then adults are only $2 per person or you can get a monthly pass. The monthly pass is a good deal. They also rent shelters for weddings and parties and these cost $100 for the day. On the day we visited the beach it was empty. One of the reasons was because this was a non cruise ship day. When cruise ships land on St. Thomas tours will bring groups here to hang out, so it can get crowded. We had the whole place to ourselves with about 20 other people. There are showers and bathrooms here spaced across the beach. There is also a snack shack here but the food did not look that great. Luckily we packed our own lunch for the day. We wanted to find a spot on the beach and relax but our little one just wanted to run the whole beach. So we had to follow. Along the way we met a local who was there with her son. The two kids decided to run together and we walked along learning about the island life from the local. It was nice to secretly think that this would be a great place to live but you quickly learn that living anywhere has its moments of issues. And in the end you learn that island life may just be as hard as living in a big city, in fact it seems like it might even be magnified. Eventually our little one got tired enough and was able to pass out under a palm tree and we were able to finally grab that piece of beach and relax. Oh this is the life without a care in the world. Absolutely amazing. Don't be a sheep and follow everyone off the boat to a tourist beach. Pay the $5 taxi ride and entry fee and do yourself a huge favor and visit Magens Bay. You won't regret it. We came in early May and the beach was nearly empty. Clean bathrooms, shelters with tables, a bar, and food available. We visited the kayak rental and paddled for an hour around the turquoise waters. Very friendly Texan gentleman who owns it. This was by far our favorite part of the day. Be sure to take in the amazing views of St Thomas on the drive over. Beware if your bus stops and a crazy lady with a turtle offers to let you pet it. Don't touch it or she will chase you down for a dollar! read more

The pictures do not lie, this is no hoax, it really is this beautiful. Magen's Bay is what I dream life would be like on my very own private island. Clear blue waters and fine, white sandy beaches surrounded by lush greenery...Swooon... I could make a coconut radio and a washing machine like the professor on Gilligan's Island if I had to live the rest of my days here. Although, no need for that because for the nominal price of $4 dollars for visitors and $2 for locals, you can enjoy this serene beach for the day. You can also rent paddle boards and such but I didn't see any jet skis. And you have to rent the beach chairs but there are picnic tables fo' free. There's a snack bar and alcoholic beverages. Only thing I was missing was a server to bring me pretty drinks while I relax to the max. read more
This is a truly beautiful beach. I took a ride to view the bay from above then went down. The water is crystal clear, the sand is very soft. The view is breathtaking. They have restrooms, a bar, a restaurant as well as a store. There is a small park as well as some picnic tables. Im extremely glad I checked if out you should too. read more
The "flagship" beach of St. Thomas, Magens Bay does offer a lot of amenities and commodities in addition to the natural beauty that abounds. The tradeoff, of course - is that you run the high risk of seeing with and encountering other people. A few notes about my visit in April of 2013: Location: 4 out of 5 I suspect that most people who come to St. Thomas will eventually have to go to Magens, either by choice or by force. You cruise goers butt out of this conversation, because you've likely booked an excursion or a taxi cab to take you from the port to the beach, but for those that fly in or are staying on the island, the roads leading to Magens are well-maintained and easy to navigate. Once there (and as others have mentioned), there is an admission fee for both human and car, unless you get there before 8am. The parking lots are ample, and there are adequate spots for those needing additional accessibility. Commodities and Amenities: 5 out of 5 If you happen to be one of those hapless folks who comes unprepared (or from the cruise ship), they have what you need here. Chair rental, umbrella rental, watersports rental, small sundries shop, a restaurant that I would consider to be "Fast food/Americana", etc. For everyone in general - you'll be pleased to know that the showers are in wonderful shape, there are little foot showers right outside of the regular shower stalls, and everything is clean and organized. Like I said, this type of stuff brings in the crowd. Of course, you're allowed to bring in your own chairs, cooler, etc. Lifeguards are on duty, which is a definite asset for those that can't swim very well. Seclusion/Ambiance: 3.5 out of 5 We lucked out pretty well since we went early on a Friday morning when there wasn't a cruise ship in port. While not empty, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, and as a testament that this is not just a touristy beach, there were plenty of family picnics and parties being held. I mean - don't get me wrong, right? The ambiance is still great (a beach, after all), and there is enough space for you to find your own little spot of sand, but it's just not quite as idyllic as say, Lindquist Beach, or even Brewers Bay (sans airplanes). Snorkeling: 2.5 This was not my preferred place to snorkel while on STT and STJ for a few reasons. While there are fish and coral to be seen, most of them are either at the edge of the marked swimming zone, or past them. One should not swim past the marked zone, lest s/he be lightly reprimanded by one of the lifeguards. Aside from the occasional schools of bait fish and one or two lone larger fish, I spent most of my snorkeling time trying to find things in the sand that people had dropped, and came up pretty good that day with a bracelet and a pair of cheap sunglasses. I wish I could tell you that I traded them for a beer or something, but upon giving these "gifts" to my fiance, she told me promptly to "leave them on the sand." Tsk tsk, people can be so ungrateful. Accessibility Options: 3.5 out of 5 This isn't a typical metric I use, but the fiance did break her ankle in January of 2013 and was on the mend in April when we went, so it was nice that there were dedicated parking spots for those needing extra time/less distance. Also, the walk from the parking lot to the beach wasn't too bad, so pain on her ankle was minimized. Overall: 4 out of 5 Probably the most well known beach on STT, and it has the nicest amenities. I mean...depending on what you're looking for, this may be a blessing or a trade off. I don't regret going, of course - but next time when I'm in the area, I'd probably spend the majority of my time at Hawksnest or Cinnamon. on STJ. read more

As a pseudo-local, I love this beach and hate it at the same time. It attracts a LOT of tourist...hello! Magens Bay is not the only beach on St. Thomas people! Nor is it the prettiest. It's not dirty, don't get me wrong, but there are so many other more attractive beaches on the island (Coki Point, Sapphire). You have to pay to enter as well - per car and per individual. People are not lying when they say that this beach is amazingly beautiful (among other similar adverbs and adjectives). I had the privilege of spending two fantastic days at this beach. The water is calm, warm, blue and clear. Little schools of tiny fishes bob along in the shallows near the beach (when you're about thigh- to hip-deep in the ocean). It's paradise and everything you picture when you think of "tropical beach." They have kayaks that you can rent by the hour (single or double), and a friend of mine and I rented one both days. The guy who runs the rental shack even gives you the best route to take to make the most of your hour. We had a lot of fun, considering she had little experience and I had none at all in terms of rowing. The sand is white. The sky is blue. The water is clear. There's a pretty lady walking up and down the beach taking drink orders and you can sit where the waves meet the sand and watch tiny fishes swim around your toes. Both days we were there, there was not a cruise ship in port. It was absolutely relaxing and not crowded at all. I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. I still dream of this place at night. read more

It's a clean and simple beach, but you gotta pay $4 admission. Great place for a light swim in the warm water. There's not much to look at if you wanna snorkel. Based on other conflicting reviews, I suspect I needed to swim out of the main beach area. There are buoys to keep swimmers close to the shore. The concessions area food is meh-average. The beach side bar gets the job done and that's all that matters here. read more

This was the first beach I went to on my first time down to the VI! It was amazing!! The snorkeling is great and you can see plenty of sea life without even going far off the beach. The sand is beautifully white and the water is extremely clean. There's an amazing bar on the beach and all the bartenders are quick and efficient and great people to talk to. There's also a little gift shop for beautiful souvenirs (I bought two ornaments)! This is a very cool beach to go to especially if it's your first time. Highly recommend this place and I highly recommend visiting the amazing shop! read more
It was a quick ride from the cruise port to Magens Bay. The admission fee was $4 per person. This beach is beautiful. We got there in the late morning and the sun was behind the beach, so many of the trees were shading the entire beach. We were worried we wouldn't be able to find a spot in the sun as some of the "prime real estate" had already been taken. Luckily the way the sun moves it was sunny by about noon and the trees are not an issue at all. The beach is basically in a cove, so it's protected from the wind and surf which makes the water very calm. This is nice if you want to swim or just stand in the water without waves crashing into you or strong currents. They also have lifeguards on duty there for those of you with that concern. At one point I was applying spray sunscreen and the lifeguard told me I had to walk to the back of the beach... which I thought was a little bit weird considering it was a beach and there was plenty of spray sunscreen every where. The best part of our day was the beach bar! The rum punch was delicious and strong! You can also use your credit card as long as you spend at least $15. They also have beach service with servers walking up and down the beach if you don't want to leave your spot. However, I thought the drinks from the bartender were stronger than the ones that got delivered from the beach service. So if you can find a spot close enough to the bar for the quick walk when you need a refill! read more
