This review is to follow up the quality of work this company does and warn anyone who may be…read morethinking of using them. My home had a roof installed by this company in fall of 2018. We bought the home in 2019. We have the permits and information from when and who completed it..when I began to notice problems, I decided to look up this company on the internet and see if anyone else has these issues. No surprises, many of these reviews are having the same issues. My roof over the last year (so year 6 of the roof existing, which roofing should not have to be replaced for minimum 20 years. I have sections of shingles in small pieces that have been blowing off periodically for the last 2 years, but recently a huge portion has blown off. We also have a section of attic that is exposed because the vent cover and shingles in that area have blown off or were never installed, not sure which. I don't go up on my roof often enough to know. Shingles are supposed to be nailed down, but also they have a backing to them that over time heats up with the roof and adheres it even better to the area its been nailed to and the underlayment. Bakersfield is not somewhere that has hurricane or tornado winds. Its fairly mild. So the only explanation I have for my continuously problematic roof is poor installation and craftsmanship by this company, which is only more obvious by others having the EXACT SAME issues as me. Please, do not use this company. Save your future self some sanity and money and do not call them.

When I contacted Amparano Roofing, who installed the shingles, I was told the issue was due to wind and considered an "act of God." While I understand weather can play a role, I found it concerning that none of the neighboring homes built at the same time appear to have the same issue. The amount of shingles that came loose on my roof was significant, and the situation has resulted in extensive damage that I now have to address. I'm sharing my experience to hopefully help future customers make informed decisions. I would have appreciated more support and clearer guidance from the company in resolving this matter.

Although my unit is hitting 20 years old, it was found to be adequate and no issues with ducts. Replacement could come later. The airflow and dirt was able to be corrected by replacing the wall covers and insulation. All wall covers were replaced with sturdy metal grates instead of the flimsy Lowes covers that insulated. All dirt surrounding the old grates on the walls and ceiling was cleaned up and all areas were tidied up. The dirt circulating stopped immediately as was diagnosed. Although I know a system replacement will be needed in the near future I will definitely trust Big Builders when that time comes. I do not know what other obligations they may have had for that day, this work took a lot longer than I had originally anticipated. Brian was meticulous and thorough instead of throwing it together and getting on to the next job.
