I'm personally not a huge fan of cake style donuts so I opted for the soft and fluffy ones and they were all delicious. My favorite was the jelly filled and glaze. I wish they had more of a larger selection but still so delicious. I am a huge fan you can tell they are fresh. I recommend getting there in the morning because they are so fluffy. I would consider this the top food place on the GOTL strip. Hands down some great donuts with excellent friendly staff. The hours listed online are not very accurate so I would call they said online they were closed but they were really open! Definitely try there donuts!

Very happy to have tried this donut shop. Line moved pretty quickly. Small space once inside. It's an order, pay, grab, and keep moving. Donuts were delicious. Very fresh donuts. Frosting was very good. Will come back the next we visit

I was treated to donuts while we were in the area. I was told that this place has been open since the 50s, if not earlier, and that when the original owner retired, he sold the recipe to the new owner. Anyway, the donuts were Delicious! Im a fan of Krispy Kreme, but unfortunately we don't have one in our area. We have another chain, which the locals seem to like, and even though I can't mention their name, it's similar to the famous book by Dr Seuss named Horton hears a who. The yeast donuts melt in your mouth! So good, but a little pricey at $15 for a dozen, but what isn't pricey these days? Fortunately I don't live in the area, or I'd prolly end up spending all my cash buying this, while living under a bridge nearby. Seriously, try them!

Husband can't resist the donuts, so we walked in after lunch, he got two!! Hahaha, immediately eat it after he walked out of the shop! He said it's fresh and great!

One customer at a time but line was quickly moving. Each donut is a buck. About five varieties all of which were so very soft and moist at 945am on a Saturday. The cake donuts had a lightly crispy outside with wonderful not too dense cake inside. Coffee for two bucks. Good deal and good donuts.

, I'd have to say first time visit to Madsen Donuts they were delicious well worth hour drive, service was friendly and quick. In small resort town shop.

The one that was finished was a jelly stick my hubby ate - we just can't eat the rest.

I heard the hype on New Day Cleveland and read the reviews here, so when I was in Geneva-on-the-Lake this weekend for brunch I had to stop in and grab a half dozen donuts from Madsen. I admit I'm so disappointed. Not sure if the folks who reviewed before have never had a flavorful donut or if the glow of vacation or nostalgia is clouding their judgement, but not a single donut in my box had any flavor. The only hint of anything came from the peanuts and jimmies and jelly from 3 of our selections. The dough for the yeasty and cake style both seem to be missing salt or vanilla. The cream sticks (which I was most excited about) were chewy and dense with a shortening based cream filling that was not completely mixed, resulting in a unpleasant texture that coated my mouth in an oil-slick like film (which had a hint of vanilla aftertaste). I wanted to love these, but could not even eat them - that says a lot coming from a chubby donut-loving lady.

Honestly if you've ever had a good donut, these are NOT it. Not worth the calories. Super friendly though‍

Delicious cream sticks! Always have to stop for a couple dozen on the way to Cleveland. Half for Grandma and the other half to eat!

This place puts Dunkin Donuts to shame! Yum! Went twice while on a long weekend trip to Geneva-on-the-Lake. What a cool little town!

I was reading reviews and was concerned- this place is fantastic! I saw some negative reviews and I…read morehad to add my super positive one! I LOVE HKKB! My go to is Singapore Mai Fun. I get it ALL the time because it is not only consistently delicious, and perfect (did I mention I'm a PICKY pain in the arse?) I had a couple of Chinese food places on the West side which were good, and also two Thai places- but Hong Kong King blows all of them away. They're reasonable! And the owner who always greets me is adorable. I also am thrilled because I can also get my Bubble Tea fix in!!! Yay for Taro Bubble Tea! Rora had a Green Tea from here and her Tofu with Brown sauce- she's also picky. It passed the Rora test too. It is for the time being a take out only, and that's just fine for me. I do see renovations getting closer, so maybe in the future it'll be a Buffet again. I love their food though- YUM! When I first moved out here to the Geneva area, I told friends that I needed to have a good Chinese place! Since I had four that I frequented back on the west side -that was a sore spot with me moving to the east. When Hong Kong King buffet reopened post covid, I was practically beating down their door lol! I will also say on the consistency of the food here everything I've ordered is always cooked perfectly and delicious! Give this wonderful little treasure a try and don't forget to grab yourself a bubble tea too!

Best Chinese food around. Owners are so nice. No longer a buffet, but great take out for home.read more

I came around 4:30pm and was the only one here. The waiter was the best part of my experience, he…read morewas so sweet and always checking in. The kitchen staff was obnoxiously loud, which with an empty dining room was blatantly disruptive. As far as the food, it was okay, the steak had a great flavor and was cooked medium rare just as asked. They gave me a healthy portion of sautéed mushrooms and onions, and the broccolini was lovely. I ordered the Parmesan truffle fries but they lacked any real flavor and, rather, were under-salted. I decided to try an appetizer of cornbread and honey with butter.. but I wish I had skipped it. The cornbread is dry, there is no corn in it (which for me is a negative but some might like that) and the flavor didn't impress me. Overall, it's a very expensive place to eat to not really enjoy your meal. I would suggest if you want a good steak head over to Sammy K's instead.. you'll cut your bill in half and leave satisfied.

I was excited to come here. Came inside and became…read moreinstantly confused. They have a conflicting theme when you enter Asian decor. Like a massive lucky cat and cherry blossom trees that lit up. Asian dragons on the counter and shelves. They were cute but didnt carry thruout the restaurant and Infouns that kind of confusing. But then there's a massive old photo of George Washington along with an oddly placed refrigerator that has big cuts of meat. There's just so much going on in the lobby that didn't tie together. Tbo, kind of gave me a little anxiety. The service was really nice. Every staff member that I met was welcoming and nice friendly -zero complaints. My food was ready a few minutes after I had arrived. I had ordered a size brussels sprouts and a side of pierogi. Brussels sprouts had the most potential they gave a lot of brussels sprouts, which were cooked perfectly and we're generous with everything they put on top of it... But that's where the problem was... on menu it read, "balsamic drizzled" Hmmm... Drizzled. These are more like brussels sprout balsamic soup. If it wasn't a takeout order, I would've sent them back. Wowzers, were they were swimming in the sauce. It wasn't that the sauce wasn't good. There was just far too much of it. made it un enjoyable. I didn't finish it If I could make a culinary suggestion to the restaurant, I would reword the description and iwn up to they are in a balsamic sauce and not call it a drizzle because there is nothing drizzled about this. I would not have ordered it if I knew it was in a balsamic sauce The pierogi... I was flat out, disappointed by this This says it was pan seared. I'm skeptical about this menu description. These look like they were flash fried. Either in the deep fryer, an air fryer or worse microwaved. I don't cook in the microwave so I really don't know what they would look like in the microwave But I do know what pan sear pierogi (we make homemade ones all the time) look like and these didn't look like that but they definitely did not appear to have any sign of being seared. Rat. They were tough and chewy on the outside with no buttery flavor that a pan seared item would have. I would not order this again. Inside of the pierogi tasted fine and the toppings the bacon and onions were plentiful, flavorful and we're done really nicely So- All I ate fully was the pierogi toppings. So for 43.10 (includes a tip) i had the MOST expensive dinner that consisted of a side of bacon and onions. As that is all that i felt was enjoyable and worth eating.
