I found my dream dress, but it had stains on the shoulder. I ask for a possible discount and I was told no but I can tell you how to get that stain out. Are you kidding me? I had to dig through so many racks, that weren't even my size to find this dress and this is the response that I get. The service at checkout also horrendous. I walk up to the cashier. She says absolutely nothing I pay and she just folds up the garment and puts it in front of me with the receipt on top. I had to ask for a bag and she rolled her eyes and charged me the five cents for the back put the garment in the bag and just gave it to me no thank you nothing. I am never going back to this location. I feel like I go back once a year and I realize why I hadn't gone in so long.

As I walked through the store, she followed me closely from section to section, including into the fitting area where there were additional sales items. However, when two white women entered the store shortly after, the same associate immediately greeted them and offered assistance. When I approached the register to request the store manager's contact information, the assistant manager identified herself and I calmly explained what had occurred. At that point, the associate claimed she never even noticed me -- despite having followed me around the store the entire time. As I was leaving because I no longer felt welcome, the associate became hostile and yelled at me, stating that she "gets along with the assistant manager" who happens to be Black," which was completely inappropriate and deeply revealing. I am a Black woman. The associate is white. The customers who were greeted and assisted were white. The difference in treatment was clear. I was made to feel watched, unwelcome, and devalued as a customer. What I was wearing -- leggings and a hoodie -- should not determine whether I am treated with basic dignity or assumed to be suspicious. I hold a LOFT credit card and was fully prepared to shop. This was not just poor customer service. It was biased treatment that requires immediate attention. The associate needs serious customer service and bias training, and store leadership must address how this situation was handled. No customer should ever leave a store feeling humiliated, profiled, or unwelcome. I did.

1 STAR -- Defective Shoes and Zero Accountability…read more I completely understand and respect an "All Sales Final" policy. If I bought the wrong size, changed my mind, or simply didn't like the shoes, that would be on me. But this is not a return issue. This is a product failure. I purchased these Nike running shoes from the Nike Factory Store/Outlet in White Marsh, Maryland, on Thursday for approximately $71. Within just two days, the sole began separating from the shoe and is now visibly coming apart. These were essentially brand-new shoes that failed almost immediately. When I called the store to explain what happened, I made it very clear I was not trying to return them due to preference or buyer's remorse. I was reporting a defective product that had already broken down after minimal use. The response I received was that the sale was final, nothing could be done, and I was simply out the $71. That level of response is extremely disappointing. An "All Sales Final" policy should apply to normal customer returns--not to merchandise that appears to be defective right out of the box. A shoe that starts falling apart after two days is not normal wear and tear, and it reflects poorly on both product quality and customer support. I expected significantly better from Nike, both in terms of durability and accountability.

I had to exchange some pants I bought online on 12/4/17 and the representative (Dallas) and the manager on duty (Emily) provided excellent service helping me to find the correct pants and ordering them online. Emily stayed with me throughout the entire transaction and made sure that I got to see how each color of the pants I wanted actually looked before ordering the size I needed. Disappointing Experience…read more I had an amazing shopping experience at Banana Republic in Columbia Mall until checkout. The cashier saw me waiting and refused to assist me until a coworker told her to. She then questioned why her coworkers couldn't check me out instead. Had me standing not trying to help check me out. attitude was unnecessary, disrespectful, and honestly made me feel singled out. I'm not sure what her issue was, but customers should NEVER be made to feel unwelcome when they're simply trying to make a purchase.
