The starters are roughly the same as the starters you get at other such restaurants: present and correct was the sesame prawn toast, the fried chicken wings, the crispy aromatic duck (with pancakes), the spring rolls and the dumplings. The mains, too, are fairly run-of-the-mill for such an establishment, with a range of options covering chicken, prawn, pork and the like and a range of tastes from sweet and sour to curry via black bean sauce. However, the devil is in the detail and they were all brilliantly executed (except for the lemon chicken, by which we were slightly disappointed). I was also impressed that the rice ran out much less often than you'd usually expect and I was also pleasantly startled by the availability of sushi and similar things in the buffet, which went down very well. In addition to all that, there was a teriyaki bar where you could get things cooked to order with your choice of sauce (although I was so full after sampling the extensive buffet I didn't get a chance to try it!). For pudding there were fritters available and a freezer full of tubs of proper ice cream to go with it, unlike some restaurants' desserts which are just sundaes kept ready in a huge freezer or a Mr. Whippy-style ice cream dispenser on the side with some marshmallows. I always appreciate a restaurant doing desserts that aren't just different arrangements of chocolate and icecream! Many people aren't aware of Indo-Chinese cuisine but it is an Indian adaptation of Chinese food (immensely popular with vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike) so you'll often see dishes prefixed with chilli, schezwan or stir fried. Despite trying much of the menu here the chilli paneer, aubergine stir fry and salt and pepper mushrooms remain firm favourites (sorry Indigos I know the crispy bhajia and veg manchurian are popular but I still think my mum makes these better). I am disgusted by the customer service provided to my 79 year old disabled father. Last year he…read morebought a gift card of £500 to accommodate our family's Christmas meal on December 1st, travelling up from Brighton to visit a restaurant we have visited many times in the past. We had a wonderful meal last December, we had £52.85 left on the gift card. My father tried to call again last week to book another table for 13th December, hoping to use to remainder of the gift card to use towards the next table and was told the gift card expires after one year. He offered to use the gift card towards pre-paying for the entire meal, and was told this wasn't possible. For the sake of 12 days, my family will not be revisiting. My family travel hours from the South East to visit this restaurant, we have left generous gratuities over the years and to be told on the phone that our gift card will not be honoured less than 2 weeks after its expiry tells me that this company is.... I would avoid this restaurant if you value loyalty and expect the customer service which this company prides itself on. 1 out of 5 stars, we will never be returning over this. You have lost a valuable customer who, despite having a major physical disability, was extremely excited to travel 160 miles to enjoy a meal here again.

The pitcher of tap water comes with lemon in it and my husband prefers water with no lemon. We ordered the focaccia to start. It is on their pizza bread with olive oil and herbs. The crust is good, but it was way too salty for me. For dinner, I had Rigatoni alla Norma, which was very good with fresh tomatoes, eggplant, cheese, etc. The portion is small, but enough for me. I really enjoyed this dish. My husband ordered the chicken special, which was a flattened, breaded chicken with three roasted tomatoes, lemon and thyme on the side. You had to use the tomato, lemon and thyme on the chicken to provide flavor and moisture for the chicken. It was good all together. It was clear that it was expected to order a side item with the chicken, so he opted for mixed vegetables. I didn't realize this is a chain and wouldn't have chosen a chain. However, we enjoyed our meal.
