I found Salmon and Sons recommended by many in a local Facebook group. I gave them a call on Saturday afternoon to leave a voicemail, expecting to get a call back on Monday. Joe called me back 5 minutes after seeing he missed my call. He came Sunday morning to take a look at my situation and provided an estimate the next day. The communication throughout the whole process was consistent and I knew exactly what to expect and when to expect it. I don't have the before pictures to show you the contrast, but it is night and day how much better my system looks and works now, both inside and out. Outstanding quality work--custom sheet metal, redundant safety switches to prevent leaks of any kind, new grills and ducts and a sweet new thermostat, everything lined to prevent condensation, ductwork and pipes secured carefully to the walls. As far as cooling goes, the air pressure is literally twice as strong as it was before, it cools down quickly, and the unit and everything around it is nice and dry. An excellent experience all around. I highly recommend Salmon and Sons for any of your HVAC needs. (If this sounds like a paid advertisement, it's not. I am legit just that pleased by my new system and the process of working with Joe and his team to get the job done.)

With the eyes that have been on Cleveland Park of late, I am surprised to be the first review for this neighborhood destination. 'Discovering' what the park had to offer was a joy; it's a perfect spot for nearby locals. One thing I enjoyed about the park is that it was utilized. People who have been in the neighborhood for a while were throughout the community center, working the front desk, playing basketball and ping pong, playing with their kids on the playground... I hope the neighborhood can hold on to the character and community it enjoyed before the boom... because the park is a great neighborhood resource. Nestled squarely within the Cleveland Park neighborhood (and a nice smattering of original homes and the new abominations developers are hellbent on popping up all over the city), the actual park is a few city blocks of greenery, mature trees, 2 baseball diamonds, a soccer field, community center, swimming pool (!), indoor & outdoor basketball courts, meeting rooms, foosball, and a pavilion for lunching. With a generous parking lot, I was impressed with how well maintained the park is and how deceptively large it is. In roaming all around it, I was surprised to find more hidden gems. There's a walking trail that abuts a tennis court that could use some TLC. It also overlooks train tracks (the vegetation hides them for the most most). But this is, truly, a neighborhood park. It's extremely well-planned and offers resources for residents to enjoy as a community. Some of the parks/green spaces we explore are more of the 'open field' sort -- and that's fine. There's a lot of beauty in wide open spaces. But to come across a park that had a specific plan, a conception borne of need and execution that delivers -- and on the east side -- well, it's a joy to encounter. Cleveland Park (the park) is a joy. Explore your metro and discover it for yourself.

The history of the property isn't very well documented, but in my research, I did find a lot of criminal activity here in the 1970s and 1980s. With East Nashville being gentrified over the last ten years, it will be interesting to see what changes happen to this park in the next few years, and how much money gets pumped into it. I did enjoy the trail along the perimeter, and the layout is very typical of Ben West-era parks.

The delivery team of two men was also kind and professional however the glass maker was probably one of the rudest individuals I have ever encountered. I called All Star Glass to see what their typical wait time for replacing a piece of glass was and they notified me 24-48 hours. After reading the Google reviews it seemed that this was the norm for them. This was important to me because I dropped the glass off on a Monday and needed it by the latest Thursday because I had a flight out of Nashville at the end of the week. I also didn't want to not have a front window for my living room for the entire week especially when I was not there. No worries however because I was told it would be done Tuesday. After receiving no update on my glass, I called them back and was told it would be done the next day (Wednesday). After again receiving no update on Wednesday, I called again and was told it would be done Thursday. By the time Thursday rolled around I called back and was told it would be done Friday even though I made it clear early in the week that I had a flight to catch. When I called Thursday, the woman at the front desk handed the phone over to the glass maker who immediately started yelling and getting very angry, telling me that NO ONE told me the glass would be done in 24-48 hours (just read the other comments. This seems to be the norm) and that HE told me it would be done Friday (I would have never agreed to this in the first place considering I had a flight and wouldn't be able to get the glass on Friday). The glass maker continuously called me a liar, yelling at me, threatening to hang up and not make the glass, saying that no one told me 24-48 hours despite the fact that I was told MULTIPLE times that this is how long the order would take. I tried being cordial as I shared my frustrations of needing to now change my flight but the glass maker didn't care, continuing to throw personal jabs and calling me a liar, referring me to the worst customer he has ever dealt with. Every time I tried calming him down (because I really did need the glass) he continued throwing personal shots at me. Very unprofessional. $355 for glass and $1500 later for having to change flights at the last second, the glass is installed. I would strongly recommend that the owner of All Star Glass gets a new glass maker as the current one is not well.

Andrea helped me improve so much on my range, breath control and pitch! As a non-native English speaker, she also showed me how to pronounce words clearly so my English lyrics are more understandable. And Ben is the most all-around musician I've ever seen! He's taught me so much about production and mixing! He has a deep understanding of music in every aspect of it, from how melody/harmony function, to the reasons why the arrangement/production work in a song, to the history/development of many musicians/music genres, etc.You name it! Both Andrea and Ben are patient, knowledgeable, and super supportive. Now that they've moved to Nashville, I hope more people get the chance to learn from them, and I'm sure students like us will help spread the good word! After five years, now I'm still working with them (online, as I'm still in LA) and amazed at how much I can learn from them!

She is non-judgemental and incredibly supportive. She really knew how to get the best out of me and help open my voice up with confidence and joy. I came into these lessons knowing a thing or two about singing, but she helped me get to a whole other level! Kyle has a lot of technical knowledge and shares it in a way that is absorbable. I learned so many new techniques, like, using vocal resonators, transitioning to my head voice better, and pronouncing words in a different way to get the most out of the song. What I appreciate the most is that she challenged me with complex songs I never thought I could sing, and it felt so fulfilling once I tackled them. With each song, I felt like I was leveling up and feeling so much more confident. Kyle has a discerning taste for music and has a high level of emotional intelligence. All the things you would want in a great vocal/ music teacher! I hope to continue my singing journey with Kyle and Amber Light Voice for a long time!

I arrived around 11:14 a.m. and didn't leave until 3:50 p.m. The initial hour wait was expected and wasn't the issue. Once I was called, I found out I was given the wrong ticket, processed for the wrong credential, and had my last name misspelled despite the correct spelling being on my Georgia license and every document I provided. After catching the mistakes myself, I spent more than three additional hours waiting for them to be corrected while new customers continued being helped. Eventually, a supervisor had to step in because the employee couldn't fix the issue, and even then it took multiple attempts. I understand waiting at the DMV, but over four and a half hours because of preventable employee errors is completely different. When you're handling someone's legal identification, basic accuracy and attention to detail should not be too much to ask. The unsanitary facility didn't make the experience any better. The waiting area smelled strongly of body odor, the seats had questionable stains all over them, and the bathrooms looked like what I imagine a jail bathroom would look like. I also watched a Spanish-speaking woman struggle to communicate while the employee assisting her became increasingly frustrated with the poor woman, who had no one there to help her. Instead of trying to find someone who could assist, the employee just kept repeating the same thing over and over in a more annoyed tone each time. Another Spanish-speaking man was having a similar experience. I finally took it upon myself to go into the waiting room and find someone who could help. Go figure, I was able to flag down two Spanish-speaking employees who could assist them, meaning help was available the entire time. The other employees could have easily done the same instead of repeatedly speaking to customers with language barriers in an increasingly frustrated and condescending manner. Watching employees continue to repeat themselves as though these customers simply weren't understanding, rather than finding the Spanish-speaking assistance that was readily available, was extremely disappointing. For a government facility serving the public, there should be far more patience, professionalism, and effort to make sure everyone can access the services they came there for. A government facility serving the public should be clean, organized, professional, and prepared to assist people facing language barriers with patience and respect. This location needs serious improvement in employee training, customer service, cleanliness, and attention to detail!
